Disclaimer: NOT BASED OFF THE GAME!!!!!!!
~This is a roleplay that I created some time ago. It was quite successful and then the players got busy. I would like to start it up again and create a new adventure for the people who sign up!~
There were so few of them now. Only a few stragglers. Not even enough to justify the title of race. But, to the humans? They all belonged to the same race. The "Non-humans." The term, however non-offensive it might sound, is practically synonymous with the word "dead."
The human government had discovered something called the "microchip" some time ago. They started doing crazy experiments with the things, and before the world knew it, almost everyone had one implanted into their brains. When the human government had decided that they were the superior race, they tuned everyone's microchips to the same frequency. The "chipped" suddenly became hostile to anyone not like them. This included anyone not born of human lineage and those humans born with the ability to perform magic. A war soon broke out. Countless lives were ended. Countless races and species went extinct. The humans literally ruled the world.
They ruled the entire world. Well, except one little plot. The Island of Ruins. The remaining Non-humans fled from the bloodthirsty humans and found safety among the ancient ruins of a long extinct people group.
They now have to survive the dense forest and make livable homes among the mazes and rubble of the deteriorating buildings. All coming from different backgrounds and different parts of the world, it almost seems impossible, but it's amazing what can happen when unfriendlies have a common enemy.

Rules:
1) No character is better than another. This is to keep things fair. Traditionally, Link is "better" than Ganondorf, but in this case, each person is being played by a real person. So, no killing, injuring or subjecting another character to a life-changing situation without their consent.
2) Keep it PG-13. There's nothing wrong with romance, but try to keep the spicy stuff limited to PMs.
3) Post frequently. It becomes really difficult to keep things going when a major character is missing for days and everyone is waiting for their response. After a week of inactivity without warning, we will write your character out. That might include but is not limited to death.
4) Give some warning. I'm going to make it the three day rule. If you know you're going to be unavailable or difficult to reach for 3 or more days, post about it in the OOC. That way we can play around if we need to.
5) Be creative. This is just as much your roleplay as it is mine. You don't need permission to shake things up a bit. I hate roleplays with that "what I say goes" rule. So be original. The only time I'd ask for you to pass it by me is if you strongly feel it might break one of the rules.
6) keep it interesting. Just because I said keep it PG-13 does not mean make it dull. Profanity is fine. I'll probably use some myself. Also, if you want to ad gore, go ahead. Kill people or whatever.
7) Have fun! This is just as much your roleplay as it is mine, so enjoy it! If it gets boring or you don't like something, tell the rest of us.
Characters being played:
Name: Zmerr
Age: Unknown
Race: Asura (Based off of a character I play in Guild Wars. I added my own twist to make him completely mine and almost original)
Abilities: Engineer. Great with technology and a master inventor.
Weapon of choice: Plasma guns.
Personality: Means well. Straight forward, often appearing rude or snotty. Honest. Reliable.
Appearance:
Short bio:Zmerr was born and raised in a the rich jungle city of Norann. Despite being surrounded by the jungle, the people of Norann knew little of their surroundings. They often preferred to stay inside. The Asura were creative mecha builders by nature. Being a part of such a class, Zmerr learned and perfected the art of engineering. When he was young, his father was found to be a cheater and left his family shortly after. This dampened Zmerr's attraction to romance to almost non-existent. After her husband left, Zmerr's mother became distant. Due to the lack of his mother's attention, Zmerr became attached to his slightly older cousin, Youmme. Youmme was a trickster and a delinquent. She often teased Zmerr about his unusually petite structure. Even though Zmerr hated his cousin's endless jeers and pranks, she was really the only one to ever pay him any attention. One day, Youmme played a prank on him that changed his life in unimaginable ways. She led him into the jungle, telling him that there was an abandoned city. It had been a trap. She sneaked away when he wasn't paying attention and left him to his own devices. He wandered the jungle for an unmeasured amount of time. He finally found his way out and sought refuge. During the time he'd spent in the jungle, the world had been "purged" of non-humans and he was forced to evacuate. He found a deserted island and made a home for himself among the ruins.
Name: Vala'keer
Age: Unknown
Race: Draconian
Abilities: Tank, Swimmer, Hunter, Melee, Packmule, Metalworker, Blades-master
Personality: Quick to judge, but also quick to reconsider. Stays loyal to those who saves his life, or does a good deed out of goodwill. Fierce and seemingly blunt and brutish, but can also be surprisingly clever, kind and gentle.
Appearance:
Short bio: Vala'keer is a Bladesmaster- the only one of his clan. The Draconians never truly went along with advanced technology, or rather, as other races would say, they were too primitive for it. They cared little for true innovation and advancing of the species- they were, in comparison to all the other races, the most content, satisfied, ecologically balanced race. They kept the balance in their lands, they hunted and they died sometimes, taken down by their enemies, be it predator or rival tribe. There way of life may have been 'barbaric' when someone observed, but it was balanced- there were always children running about, even in times of clanwar, and there were always stable numbers. Farms were few, though they aren't uncommon. Vala'keer was the Baldesmaster, as said before, who both worked and trained with steel and iron. He could make any armor, any weapon, and use it, too. Living in the marshy Dragon Swamps of a remote section of the world, the Draconians fought with each other, monstrous crocodiles, and other creatures equally as dangerous. One would call them insane for continuing to live in such condition- they would call it the best life ever. They were always fed, and yet they were always just on the edge of struggling. The Bladesmaster ensured that they didn't tip over the edge. He ordered the hunting parties, sent out the battlegroups, and even led them.
When the humans finally came to wipe them out, they laid waste to two tribes before word got out to the rest of them. Vala'keer was not like his peers- be like them he may, think like them he won't. He saw an enemy that they could not beat, and so he rallied the ones who he deemed unnecessary to fight. He brought together the tribes, into a powerful army. Armed with steel and iron, they were battlehungry and ready for war. While they may face machines of titanium and carbon, they will take what they can. Draconian archers were fearsome- a Draconian arrow could shoot clean through a human, and impale the next in line. Their bows were too powerful to be pulled by even the strongest of human archers.
But the people, the vast majority of them, all of whom knew each other by grudge or kinship, voted that he didn't lead the charges against the encroaching human forces. This conflicted him greatly, and so he convinced them to let him fight.
They were surrounded, and so he ordered his people to disperse, swim through the swamp and jump at any opportunity. The humans, not expecting for their targets to seemingly dissolve into the swamp, searched throughout, spreading out. Through an unspoken moment of vast togetherness and unity, the Draconians rose up from the swampy waters, and fell upon human soldiers and vehicles alike.
The battle that followed resulted in all humans being close to Draconian troops being torn apart, but all that were some distance away mowing down all the Draconians. Leaving the Bladesmaster bruised and bleeding in the swamp, he hid, hoping not to be found by the followers of Kraal, the Demongod. He prayed up to Straal, the Havengod, for strength and assistance in his revenge against his kinslayers. Instead, he found another option- escape. He took it, fled out to sea, and swam, swam farther than anyone in his history ever had. With him carried his race's legacy, everything. He meant to preserve it, in the form of a single egg, the Stone Egg. Simply, he would find a place to bury it, and some time long into the future, Straal will rise, and bring forth the beginnings of the new age of Draconians from the Stone Egg.
And so he swam, armed with his hammers, his weapons of war, clad in the leadership leathers, and ready to start again, somehow.

Name: Shax Artorial.
Age: Unknown. She never bothered remembering over the centuries.
Race: Infernus Demon. (Powerful, red-skinned Demons that are very much like the ones we know in stories. Vicious warriors with great strength, durability and brutality, not to mention naturals with manipulating dangerous hellfire. The full bio describes more.)
Abilities: Aside from the obvious things described in her appearance Shax has abilities that render her a truly fearsome combatant. She has strength greater than most non-humans, able to wield her blade and wear her heavy armour while only being slowed to the standards of a human, and is incredibly durable with nigh-on unlimited stamina. Her healing factor is decent, far quicker than a human's, but it will still take time for her to heal serious wounds. But Shax's most devastating power lies in her natural affinity for hellfire, the name for the flames Infernus Demons manipulate to their whims, fire that burns with more intensity, more hunger, than mundane flames. She can conjure it and manipulate it greatly, laying waste to anything she turns her chaotic mind to, whether it is alive or not.
Weapon of choice: While Shax has natural weapons such as her claws, teeth, horns and tail, not to mention her strength and hellfire, she also carries a far more conventional weapon. A massive, six foot long sword that barely even classifies as 'sword'. It's truly immense, not just in its length, but also in the width of the blade. The blade itself is at least a full foot across, one side still sharp while the other is blunt, at least an inch thick. The terrifying part about this is that Shax can still cleave through practically anything even with the blunt edge of the sword, which goes to show her strength, and the weapon's weight, is monstrous. The weapon itself is crimson, forged by hellfire smiths specially for her, and seems to shiver whenever it is coated in blood. There are no fancy decorations, it's just this, but it is a sight to behold.
Personality: To be revealed through roleplay.
Appearance: Shax is not a being you'd want to stumble across in a dark forest. For a start she is incredibly tall, standing at 7'1" in total with powerful, muscular limbs that look as though she could crush you effortlessly. Her torso is similarly muscular, yet at the same time her waist is visibly slender, granting her a surprisingly nice figure along with a decent bust and a damn fine rear. She isn't disproportionate to her size at all, it all fits her almost perfectly. Of course, her size isn't the most noticeable thing about her. There is a lot about Shax that could take that title, the first of which being that she has red skin. Dark red and a little bit shiny, smooth to the touch but not as soft as it may seem, actually being around as tough as leather. She is marred by various scars scattered about her body, ranging from small, barely noticeable nicks to longer, much nastier slices. Her face is mostly untouched, interestingly. Only blemished by a couple of nicks and a small, straight cut above her right eye.
Speaking of her face, Shax is both scary and strangely attractive to gaze upon. Her facial structure is good, boasting features of an attractive human girl. Then come her teeth, white and healthy enough, but they're definitely not human looking. Shax's teeth are comparable to a shark's, sharp and pointed in a way that tells you that she could tear chunks out of your body without issue, and probably most other things too. Her tongue is odd as well, being bright red and far longer than human tongues, not to mention it's more slender. Moving up to her eyes they're... Well, her sclera is black for a start. Then her irises are a bright, burning orange that look like flickering flames while her pupils are a bright, piercing red.
Shax's hair is black, coal black, and cut short enough to not even reach her shoulders. It's actually pretty nice, being naturally wispy and rather soft to touch, left alone so it takes whatever style the wind makes it. Currently the 'style' is very similar to bed-hair, messy and unkempt, and her fringe stops just above her eyes. Most eyes don't get drawn to her hair, though, as two bony horns protrude from her head. They're fairly short, maybe seven inches long from base to point, and curve backwards slightly about half-way up them. They protrude from above and to the side of her forehead, one each side, and are a kind of smoky grey kind of colour with hints of black strewn about. Shax also has vicious claws protruding from the tips of her fingers, a good few inches long and stronger than they look.
Next up, Shax has a tail. It's four foot long and wickedly sharp, the entire length of it being serrated to the point where it could probably take off a man's arm if she lashed out with it hard enough. It's red, like her skin, and quite slender and prehensile, allowing her to control it with surprising dexterity. It ends in a fork, three points in a pitchfork kind of shape.
Now, let talk armour. Shax is a monstrous Demon, certainly, but armour is a good thing to have, so she has it. Covering much of her body is a set of black full plate, jagged and sharp all over the place to make even brushing against her a painful experience for any unarmoured foe. It's not all that restrictive, giving her plenty of room to move about and swing her weapon, but it, along with her sword, do slow her down compared to if she was unarmoured and using her claws. As such, she has been known to shed her armour and blade if the fight calls for it.
Short bio: Shax is known as an Infernus Demon, some of the most destructive and dangerous Demons from her realm, a place known as Hal'th. She was born like many others, struggling to survive the moment she left her mother's womb, but where countless others perished before reaching double age figures Shax lived on. Her mother raised her alone, as it goes for almost all Demon spawnlings, and through her Shax learned the way of the hellish world she was born into.
And she looked upon it with a grin.
Always a fighter, even while barely old enough to walk, Shax grew into a powerful force to be reckoned with. Her mother left her when she believed her spawn capable of thriving alone, and so the young Infernus took to the land and traversed for many a year. She fought tooth and claw for survival, reveling in the bloodshed she caused when opposed by other Demons, taking her time to find herself and let her ambition swell. Eventually she came to one of the few Demon Kingdoms in Hal'th, and when set upon by soldiers she tore them apart, cementing herself a place serving under the Demon Lord of the kingdom as a Knight.
With her fellow warriors, bound together by the strength of their leader, Shax was taught more conventional combat. Until now she had relied on her strength, claws and flames to see her through, but with them she was taught swordplay. She took to it like she first took to her own sharp instruments, her penchant for destruction and bloodshed driving her to surpass everyone who stood before her, and as she fought under the banner of her leader Shax came to realize her own ambitions. She came to realize that she wanted, no, NEEDED to sate her thirst for raising hell. Shax needed to surpass everyone, destroy them, burn them... She needed to rain desolation upon everything! With that in mind, she challenged her fellow warriors... And then her own lord.
She won.
From there Shax became a deadly legend in Hal'th. She traveled alone, challenging and cutting down all those she faced, her strength only growing as the years drew by and her thirst for chaos swelled. Then, one day, she came across that which nearly all Demons lusted for. Shax discovered a portal to another realm. Knowing she would likely never be able to return Shax entered the portal with a grin, and finally emerged on Earth where her hell-raising began anew. Destructive, devastating, Shax sought good fights, challenges, and the pleasure of bringing chaos down on everything around her. It was only a few short years of her traversing the countryside, somehow missing the larger cities, before the Humans attacked. While she was more than happy to meet the challenge, to fight until either she died or the last foe before her lay slain, Shax was 'saved' by another non-human. She was pushed through another portal, but this one did not take her to another realm, it brought her to the Island of Ruins.
(Meet Shax, boys and girls.)
