"It is my great pleasure to welcome you, all of you, to the first semester ever, here at Orre's Gym Leader University. I, headmaster Steven Stone, would like to wish you all the best of luck in the coming months. Each and every one of you right now has equal potential, to be part of a new generation of Gym Leaders. One that truly challenges trainers, as well as providing your own teaching, helping the world of Pokemon battling grow and evolve. You are all here because of exceptional potential, both in battling and the care of your Pokemon, and I will be happy to see each of you reach it."

Steven stepped off the podium after his acceptance speech and went to the back room, letting the faculty members go up and give their spiel. "Damn, I hope these get easier as the years go on. Public speaking is not my forte." And out front in the hall, a mob of hundreds of trainers prepared for the journey to come.

And now, let me welcome you all to my roleplay. As you can tell, this is a Pokemon school setting, but with an overarching plot planned, plenty of potential for battles and character development, as well as a large amount of freedom given to the players.

GLU is a two year program to condense all of Pokemon battling theory as well as caretaking into a single curriculum, designed so that every alumni has potential to become a gym leader of any region. GLU promotes a new style, discouraging type specialization and encouraging each trainer to find their own team that can be a consistent challenge to any trainer that comes knocking on the door. While rivalries between students are permitted, friendship is as well, because Steven knows all to well he does not want the best battling prodigies to be against each other. Should a certain shadowy organization come to corrupt them...

Quick notes

-CS format will be up in an hour and a half or so
-Cipher WILL be the antagonists
-Players will acquire Shadow Pokemon,
-This is a boarding school type setting, for ages 17+
-Players will be allowed to be teachers
-I am looking for a COGM to help with the running
-Extensive Pokemon knowledge is preferred, but not necessary
-Megavolutions will be limited for students, teachers will have access

Teachers have no pokemon restrictions, with the exception of single member species such as most legendaries.

^^ Glad you're interested. I have the CS up, and I'll be adding details to the interest check over time, the CS format is good for both teachers and students, though I would request that each player at least has a student character, not a hard rule though.

3 Chars 2 students of them are students and one of them is a teacher.

The teacher owns a Shaymin.and 2 other pokemon.

the first one of the students owns a Kirlia and a Buneary (but only one will get mega don't mind which)

the 2nd one also owns a Kirlia. but also owns a Mawile
(they will try and catch more...)

The school has numerous facilities to allow students to acquire more Pokemon, including their own safari zone as well as no cost trips to any region to get anything imaginable. This is in addition to the Shadow Pokemon that will be distributed through the story. (both to player characters and NPCs)

As far as I know the only aura users were the ancient lucario trainer from that one movie, and ash, and I don't like to talk about anything with ash in it.

I'm Goddawful at maps for the actual place, but here's a description of the academy grounds

Location

GLU Is located just off the map, in the mountain range to the west. The campus exists in a valley with a natural lake nearby, and the mountains surrounding it have extensive cave systems, with all these and the forest, there is a wide variety of environments around. The Devon corporation has spared no expense making sure that other Pokemon types are accessible near the campus, and there is a designated "safari zone" with an even larger variety of wild pokemon available.

The campus proper has the expected variety of class buildings, dormitories, and faculty buildings. But also a number of facilities dedicated to training. Not only is there a large number of battle fields strewn around the campus, there is a dedicated training gym, move tutors, Pokemon Centers, Markets better stocked than any of the regional department stores (And each student given a hefty budget per semester for said stores) and the virtual gym, where students can construct their own gym challenge and host battles against other students. Not to mention the central arena, where tournaments are going on nearly 24/7...

Name: Terry Summers
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Biography: Terry comes from Rustboro town in Hoenn. His parents both worked for the Devon corporation, fairly low level desk jobs. Not very unusual for Rustboro. Terry always played outside with the children from the trainers school, though he never had a pokemon of his own. His parents never considered getting him one. One day in Petalburg woods his friends and him found an incredibly rare pokemon, a Treecko. Terry was fascinated with the creature, more than other pokemon, and a friend of his caught it and gave it to him. Finally with a Pokemon of his own, he immediately set out to challenge Roxanne... and got promptly stomped.

For an entire year he trained out with his Aaron, his Treecko, studying at the trainers school with his friends, and learning as much about Pokemon battling as he could. He developed a unique style, teaching Aaron to act without direct orders when necessary, something that would throw off other trainers and Pokemon who would react to command cues, When he came back to battle Roxanne, he came with both his Treecko and an Aron, and emerged victorious, quite handily (the Aron never came into play) Roxanne was impressed, but concealed it from the young trainer.

He left home to venture around Hoenn, setting his sights on Petalburg next, Aron and Treecko got him all the way through to the end, and immediately before starting his battle with Norman, Aaron evolved. Giving the edge they needed to acquire a second badge. Norman asked Terry about himself, and Terry told him about his battle with Roxanne and his past with his Pokemon. Norman had heard about the kid's unusual style from Roxanne, and offered him a deal. If Terry would work to become a strong trainer, Norman would recommend him to the GLU for it's first year of students. With the additional gift of an Eevee. Terry took the offer and had six months until he left for GLU.

During that time, he continued training, learning the capabilities of Grovyle and Eevee, in his researched, he learned of Eevee's peculiar properties, and decided to find an evolution to round out his team. Hearing rumors of an ice type form, he spent a week ascending and training at the peak of meteor falls, one of the only cold locations in Hoenn, and acquired his Glaceon with only a few days before he had to leave for GLU.
Personality: Terry is a hard worker with a dedication to his Pokemon and battling, firmly believing that a trainer's relationship with their team is the key to victory. He has spent a lot of time making sure all his Pokemon know what to do even without direct orders, based on either the flow of battle or more subtle cues. He tries to make friends with every Pokemon and trainer he comes across, and disapproves of hostile rivalries in general.

Appearance: Freddy is 5’4”, has jaw length black hair with straight bangs, often neglected as Freddy usually wears an orange knit hat with a poochyena, and great ball button. She’s more muscular than the average girl, but not terribly so, from years of moving furniture for her father. Her eyes are grey. She usually dresses comfortably in t shirts and cargo shorts. Never removes a bead and shell necklace.
Name: Francesca (Freddy) Kirk
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Biography: Born in Slateport City, in the Hoenn Region, Freddy was the daughter of a popular furniture merchant. Freddy had her poochyena since she was 10, though didn’t have an interest in battling besides helping school friends train until a fall out with her dad while working for him. Poochyena had evolved shortly after her graduating high school, after gathering supplies and setting off towards Rustburo City she captured a krabby, which let her take on the gym easily. She then travelled to Dewford Town, where after some difficulty she managed to defeat the gym on her second try. Brawly admired her persistence and fighting spirit and recommended Freddy look into apply to Gym Leader University. Her father supported her and stent her off with a decent amount of savings and supplies. Before her arrival at the university she captured and Abra.
Personality: Freddy is boyish and hardworking, she’s friendly but not terribly charismatic. It never occurs to her to lie to gain advantage, or to pretend to be friendly to save face. She was fairly popular while in school, though many of her friends had moved away after graduating. On her free time she enjoys fishing, swimming, and hiking. Is very close with her Mightyena.
Notable Possessions: Received 2 ultraballs, a great rod, and a mystic water as gifts from her father before leaving for the University.
