Evangeline halted her steps, secretly gazing upon the reuniting couples that were nearby her classroom door. Seeing people in love gave Evangeline a sense of disgust, but, could it just be the mind talking? A sudden voice was heard inside her head, cooing words of manipulation- of evil.
Loverboys, the voice speaks, pitiful men with strength to protect the ones they care about.
The seductive voice chuckled upon her words, and Evangeline saw sparks tingling out on her fingertips, and glazing over her right eye. Her eyes were wide with fear, it was beyond her control.
My sweet Evangeline, said the voice again, what is your true purpose here? To realize who you are in this world? Or to see yourself as the monster you truely are?
"I am no monster." Evangeline muttered softly with disagreement. The electricity slowly faded away for human eyes to see. She looked away from the couples and went inside the class of Dragon Anatomy. The teacher, who looks like someone you can see as a bodybuilder, stood up and greeted Evangeline.
"Evangeline Cross, I presume?" He asked before he offered his hand to shake, "My name is Professor Mack, welcome to Dragon Anatomy!"
Evangeline, with a slight smile, took his handshake quickly; because she fears her touch might electrocute him. The professor offered Evangeline to sit at any seat she finds comfortable; so she insisted herself in the back row- away from other attending classmates.
Who was that voice in her head? And how come she cannot calm her own power without calming that... demon in her mind? This all happened today, but the questions that popped up could seem like an eternity to Evangeline. So, instead, she brushes them aside- and continued to be normal with no worries.
