Well I ask people those questions, I give them the item and they give me something in return, it can be anything from wealth to some years of their life." Willis waited for a expression of confusion and shock and even braced for some mild disgust ion.

Liz consider what Willis told her. She decided that she didn't have enough information yo decide howshe felt about it. "Does the person choose whet they give you? Do they get exactly what they ask for? Is it permit or tempary? Are their things you can not grant? "

Willis was very happy with himself for he had her intrigued. "My dear if they did not agree to the trade it would be a robbery as for things I cannot grant there is little, I can take a mans happiness in exchange for 10 years of life or vice versa but I cannot take a mans wealth in exchange for world peace for that I do not obtain."

" What about something like love or children?" Liz asked curiously

Willis sighed at the thought of how he had never had a true love and therefore no children, he gazed out the cab window and said "I never had ether"

"So you can not grant them." Liz supposed that made some sense. It sounded like the exchange was pretty straight forward. Not like gene wishes or demon promises. Atleast she hoped the deals Willis made were as honest as they sounded. "It sounds like you have made a place for yourself."

Willis was barely listening he was thinking of all the riches and splendours he had obtained that had not granted him love or children or true happiness for his life was a lie and he had been deluding himself "Indeed" he said.

Liz was quiet for a minute. Thinking about the fact that of all the riches of the world Willis was missing out on the ones that mattered most. "Maybe we are not so different after all."

That comment interrupted Willis thoughts for that was one thing he had not considered but the more he thought it out the more it was clear that she was right, after a long pause Willis spoke "Perhaps.... Perhaps..."

Liz wondered if there was a way they could help each other. She didn't see one, but with some time she might think of something. As the taxi pulled to a stop in front of one of the many stores Liz had not stepped foot into in over 4 years she looked at Willis in a new way.

The cab pulled to a stop and Willis and Liz stepped out of the car. Willis saw her look at the store with a strange look one mixed with disgust and loathing "It will be fine, let not the people of this store bother you"

"It's a little late for that." Liz could already her people whispering as she and Willis approached the store.

"Miss James, we have not seen you in ages. Welcome back." One employee greeted her.

[Vortex]

A employee approached them and greeted Liz with confusion as to her attire then turned to Willis with double the confusion as to why he was companying this poorly dressed woman while he himself was In best money could by. "Come now Liz" Willis said hastily almost dragging her away from the nosy clerk.

Liz let Willis drag her away. It was better than dealing with the associates and the questions they were sure to ask. She was more grateful that Willis didn't ask for an explanation. Liz hid her face with her hair and didn't look at anyone. Being recognized hurt more than she thought it would.

Willis turned to face Liz her face was with grief and anguish, she clearly hated this place "Why do these people treat you with disgust and hate?"

"Because I left. Because they no longer got my fathers time or money. Because they could no longer use me to get what they wanted." Liz answered sadly. She refused to look at Willis. If she didn't look maybe he wouldn't see how much she hurt.

[Vortex]

Liz was hurt, he could see her pain glowing from her heart. "I'm see..." Willis did.not know what to say so he awkwardly put his hand on her shoulder in a futile attemp to console her.

"I doubt that but thank you." No one had comforted her before. Liz was not sure what to think of it. To change the subject she asked. "What do you want to take care of first?"

Well that could have gone better Willis thought, "Well food is the most important thing for humans so let's make that our priority"
