Liz nodded and headed towards the area of the store where the grocery ailes were. As they walked she kept her face hidden as much as she could. Maybe they would get through the rest of the trip without anyone else recognizing her.
Liz had to think about that she hadn't had alot of choices when it came to food. Usually she just bought whatever was cheapest. It did not matter whether or not she liked it as long as it filled her stomach. "I will eat anything. I've never had much choose when it cames to food. As for what I like... Itiallian. Especially pasta."
Willis went into a quick flashback remembering his troubled childhood, where his father was drunk and his mother was never there so he and his brother Erik had to scrape by. "Sorry... Ah Italian... Ok let's go find some Pasta."
"We can something else." Liz felt his unease. She wasn't sure if it was her mention of limited choices or her mention of Italian food that upset him. She didn't want to bring up bad memories. Something they seemed to have in common. How odd it was that they grew up in such different worlds, and yet had so much in common. "I'm not really picky."
Willis shuddered, he hated recalling his past "No, no Italian is perfect. Ahh look here's the pasta!" Willis looked at all the types, again he recalled his childhood "um... What.. Type?..."
LIz looks at all the options. She honestly couldn't say that she had seen so many choices at one time. She was alittle overwelmed. "Fettuccine Alfredo, Carbonara, Linguini with Clam sauce, Arrabbiata, Tortellini, Lasagne,Ziti, and Ravioli."
(Lol) Willis smiled that she made a good choice "Sure thing" he grabbed the Pastas and put into a shopping trolley (yes that's right we have one now). "Anything else Liz?"
"No." Liz response was firm. She was not going to let him buy the whole store. What he had but in the cart would last her a long time. She would make sure of it. Still her eyes lingered on things that she hadn't had in months. Like yogurt and sweets. Better to focus on other things. "Let's head to the check out."
"We had best get some essentials first for it is bad for your health if you don't have fruit or milk. Oh look yogurt!" Willis strode over to some yogurt, checked the use by date, and put it In the cart, turned around and saw a old lady he recognized "Oh hello mrs Perkins!"
Liz was both thrilled and embarassed that Willis had added things that she had really desired. She looked up when she heard Willis greet someone. The woman looked familiar, but Liz couldn't place her. Liz quickly looked away focusing her attention on the shelves.
"Ahh Mr Williamson! How are you?" Said the old woman "Yes yes! Very good Mrs Perkins! Yourself?" Willis asked "Oh fine dear. Have you seen your brother lately?" She inquired, "Ah... He... We stil dont talk, ma'am" Willis said awkwardly "I see" said mrs Perkins sadly "Well good bye then Mr Williamson" she turned to leave when she saw Liz, "That you Miss James?"
"You must be mistaken, miss." Liz tried to hide in hair. Wishing she had a coat or something to better hide her face. Of all the people to run into. Did they have to run into her fathers secretary. Now he would definitely her about her visit.
"Uhh..." Willis did not know what to do for one he was best friend with her and her boss and so did not want to be rude but also saw the distress Liz was facing, after a few seconds he said "Mrs Perkins run along now, you shouldn't disturb strangers" "No I know this lady... It's my Bos-" "Mrs Perkins NOW" he said forcefully, mrs Perkins jumped and walked away quickly "So poorly dressed to..." SHe muttered
"Damn it." Liz said kicking the cart. The old bat would call her father the minute she was out of site. Either her or one of his men would be here in minutes. She doubted Mrs. Perkin beleived Willis when he tried to convince her that she had been wrong in her idea. "Can we finish this trip?"
Willis looked into her face, it was grief stricken and angry he was not sure why exactly but he guessed they knew each other. "Yes.. Of course Liz" they approached the checkout and apparently word travels fast for many of the people were glaring at them and it made Willis uncomfortable with their eyes burning into his soul, he could not imagine what Liz felt.
LIz heard the whispers. But she tried to ignore them. If they could get out quick enough there wouldn't be a scene. But if someone approached them for a healing they would never get out of here.
Willis and Liz left the story Unapproached. Willis called a cab, but did not give directions but said "Just drive" he then Turned to Liz "Ahem.. Sorry.. I-I"
"We are luck to have gotten out so easily." Liz stated with a sigh. "It's alright Willis. I guess I should have told you so you could have been prepared. It's just easier not to think about it, you know?"
Willis knew what she ment, he loathed recalling his childhood as well, "Do you know Lady Perkins?" He said wanting to take the subject in a different path.
