It formerly possessed bright orange eyes and prominent teeth until they were removed in an attempt to cease its death-bringing effect.
Powers: The creature demonstrates both pyrotic and death-bringing abilities. As it phases through solid material, it leaves behind incinerated remains. When a person makes eye contact with SCP-023, they or a member of their immediate family will die exactly one year after eye contact is broken. It has been found that the victim selection is random, and that those who make eye contact have a higher chance of survival if they have a larger immediate family. These victims die in a disturbing manner where they appear unscathed on the surface, but are revealed to be filled with highly compact ash as a result of internal combustion.
Personality: It has an instinctual desire for travel and will effortlessly walk through walls in order to reach another location unless it reaches crossroads in its path. Thus, its current containment procedures require that it be secured in a walled-off intersection of the aforementioned Site that are designed to ensure SCP-023 travels in a constant loop and can be monitored by security cameras. Experimentation with the creature has since been suspended.
Bio: SCP-023 gained the SCP Foundation's attention when it attacked a church and murdered several members of its congregation (along with a [REDACTED] effect listed as a result of eye contact).
