The Republic verges
on collapse. Darth Malak,
last surviving apprentice of
the Dark Lord Revan, has
unleashed an invincible
Sith armada upon an
unsuspecting galaxy.

Crushing all resistance,
Malak's war of conquest
has left the Jedi Order
scattered and vulnerable
as countless Knights fall in
battle, and many more
swear allegiance to the new
Sith Master.

In the skies above the Outer
Rim world of Taris, a Jedi
battle fleet engages the
forces of Darth Malak in a
desperate effort to halt the
Sith's galactic domination…

This is not the story of one Republic soldier with no clear memory of his past, but of several people on a planet no where near Taris, about to be struggling for survival. The year is 3956 BBY and the Galactic Republic is reeling from two wars just barely eight years apart from each other; the Mandalorian Wars and then the Jedi Civil War. The Jedi Civil War was initiated by a large fleet of ships calling themselves The Sith Empire and led by Sith Lord Revan and his apprentice Malak. The war faced a turning point with Revan’s death, but the Empire’s resources keep the war in their favor. The Republic Fleet is battered and broken by the seemingly endless number of ships and men that the Sith Empire can put back on the front line compared to Republic recruitment, training, and build times. As the war wages on, more planets fall to the unrelenting might of the Sith fleet, each one with seemingly more casualties than the last.

Our story begins on Balmorra, a planet that is next in line for a Sith invasion, unsuspecting and with their guard down. Welcome, friends, to Knights of the Old Republic: Night Fall.

Alright then, welcome to my first RP here on the RPG site. First, we'll begin with some simple rules:

1. No Opness (unhittable at all times, god modding, the usual)
2. No metagaming without the other person's permission (say you're in a blaster duel and one of you wants to hit the other in your post rather than waiting on the other person. Just PM them and make sure it's OK.)
3. If you're in combat and you're going to get hit and it's impossible to completely dodge, because that does happen, you're allowed to minimize the damage. (Say a blaster shot is going to hit your heart. Leap to the side and take it to the arm or something.)
4. PLEASE don't control canon characters even if I GM us crossing paths with them. We will see them, we'll make comments on it and we'll keep going. If you absolutely must, then ask me if it's OK first.
5. Only one character for the time being. If your character dies, then you can make a new one, but I'd rather you not be controlling two characters at one time minus minor and red shirt characters.
6. Last, but not least, stupid actions will be met with the appropriate action. If you continually run into a firefight on your own, you will, eventually, get hit, then get killed, just as an example.
7. If you read the rules, mention a scruffy looking nerf herder in your CS.

Here's the character sheet:

Name:
Age:
Race: (Wookie, Twi'lek, Human, etc.)
Appearance: (Words or picture will work)
Profession: (Jedi, Soldier, Thief, Bartender, etc)
Equipment:
Personality:
Back Story: (One paragraph minimum)

That should cover it. Let me know if you think something should be added.

Name: Oona
Age: 21
Race: Twi'lek
Profession: Slave, Dancer at the local cantina
Equipment: A tazer implant that can cause pain, incapacitate or kill Oona with a button push on the cantina owner's remote control.
Personality: Oona is quite willing to betray, rob or steal in order to get ahead. It is all she has known. She does, however, prefer to play the part of an innocent victim or a sultry seductress. Whatever she thinks will profit her more.
Back Story: Oona grew up on the backwater world of Ryloth, a tidally locked planet that is almost inhospitable. One side of the planet is perpetually afire, the other is forever covered in ice. Only a thin strip of the planet is arable. Most Twi'lekki, as a result, live below the surface. Their only exports are Ryll, a narcotic substance and their own people served up as slaves.

This is what became of Oona who was sold into slavery for the meager price of a single blaster. A blaster being a powerful weapon against the primitive stone-age weaponsof the under dwelling Twi'lekki. She spent some time aboard a slave ship, had an adventure in which she and several other slaves lured a monster hunting the slaves aboard the ship into an airlock before making it to market. Now eight years later she's still working at the same cantina, dancing for the pleasure of her master's patrons.

Question! Are we ignoring the part where the Jedi Exile was the only Jedi to actually come back/turn away from the Sith?: If we stayed true to that, then any Jedi on the Sith's side, is either dead or part of the Sith. Which means no Jedi characters who 'came back due to a change of heart'.

Yes, we're going to ignore it simply because if we don't, Jedi backstories are going to be REALLY similar XD

Supposedly, in all recorded history no Jedi that has ever fallen to the ways of darkness has ever been redeemed save at the moment of death, during an act of truly selfless sacrifice.

That's what made Darth Vader so damn awe inspiring.

Revan didn't return to the light. His mind was erased by the council, effectively murdering him.

Welp, I has a Grey Jedi who would disagree with that statement XD Regardless, even after he regained his memories, Canon is that he didn't become a Sith again.

While I know at this point the Jedi are in the war fighting, due the whole Sith hoopla. How do you want to handle Jedi who fought on Revan's side, and are now .... not on his side?

Probationary stations far from the conflict. Places like Balmorra that are supposed to be safe for the time being.

Probably not even gonna make a Jedi who sided with Revan, I guess I just wanted that mattered cleared up anyways.

That said, I'm now gonna do what I just said I wasn't going to do.

Name: Jan Yorik

Age: 24

Race: Human

Appearance:

In armor with squad. He's the one in the center.

Without armor.

Profession: Former Sith Acolyte turned Republic Trooper

Equipment:
Republic Trooper Armor
Blaster Assault Rifle
Blaster Pistol
Purple Light-Saber

Personality: Friendly if a bit of a loner, stationed on Balmorra along with a few other troopers. He prefer to fight alone as he fear failing others and being the cause of there deaths. Lacking in Charisma he make up for in true good natured kindness. He hates slavery and feels that the Republic should not tolerate it. Often mediates and tries to learn Jedi teaching teachings to help him manage his force powers.

Back Story: A former Sith Acolyte he received minimal training before he escaped in to Republic controlled space as he did not wish to fight for the Sith even if they were winning the war. Arriving back home he signed on to help push the Sith back but kept training himself in light-saber combat while not able to use the force like a Jedi he can use basic abilities and his lack of formal blade training does make him rather under skilled against Sith but against the average trooper his melee skills are impressive. While Jan is not a fan of violence he fights to protect the ways of the Republic having seen what the Sith envision as the future. A good shoot but not the best he plans to fight and die for the honor of the Republic, his faith in it's ways unshakable.

Name: Dorian Corvavich

Age: Thirty-three.

Race: Human, Corellian.

Profession: Green Jedi.

Equipment: Dorian doesn't exactly own much, as a Jedi he naturally has his Lightsaber, but other than the clothes on his back, he owns nary a thing of actual noteworthiness.

Personality: Once upon a time, he might have thought himself a proud man, someone who fought the good fight and did the right thing, but when you go into a war with all those noble ideals you tend to come out all broken and battered. Which is more or less what happened to Dorian, both figuratively and physically. Perhaps deep down he is still that man, but he no longer believes himself to be. Having felt the loss of too much, he has become an uncaring man who would rather be left to his own devices, than anything else. His reclusive nature has of course made it's mark upon his connection to the force, which is naught but a shadow of it's former potential.

Back Story: Considering the whole 'Corellian' and ‘Green Jedi’ part, it's a safe assumption to say that Dorian is, or was at least part of the Corellian ruling elite. As are many other Green Jedi. however, the comparison between the two stop there. Dorian actually intervened in the Mandalorian Wars. He was considered to be the voice of intervention within the Green Jedi, while many of the Corellian Jedi elected to simply stay put and defend naught but Corellia. Dorian decided to take any man who would stand with him, and take these forces to fight alongside the Jedi's Revan and Malak.

He was reported in taking with him several warships, a handful of Jedi and several thousand Corellians who had volunteered to fight. Even if it was a token force, it made the Republic think that Corellia stood with them, and in a small way that helped renew their spirits.

However, that was in the beginning of the war. Victories were numerous, as were the defeats. Corellia hadn’t officially recognised Dorian’s efforts to fight in the war, which meant there was rarely ever reinforcements sent to replace those lost, and it eventually got to the point where they had to take supplies from the Republic troops just to keep on fighting.

The only thing that kept the unit together was Dorian’s determination to see this to the very end, to send the Mandalorians back to that hellhole of planet they called a home. His resolve was nothing, if not adamant, all his men had to do was look at him, and they knew why they were fighting, knowing that when this was all over, he would bring them back home. But as the war dragged on, the Mandalorians only fought harder, and dirtier.

Which resulted in the untimely loss of his wife, Clissa, as she too was a Jedi, one of the first to follow him into action. He felt the blow that resulted in her death. Her loss affected him the most out of anything, in that moment he wasn’t the same man anymore. He became more distant, and reckless with his actions. Once only drinking to celebrate, a pass time many Corellians shared, he now drank simply because it was the only thing that brought him comfort

Then one day, he simply disappeared. All the Jedi of Green who had followed him into battle had fallen in battle, all six of them. His actions had caused the death of hundreds of men, and the bright light that once emanated from him, was no longer shining. With no leader, what little remained of the Corellian forces either folded into the Republic Army, or simply went back home.

All traces of Dorian ran dry, he never returned to Corellia, not even under an assumed name. Some considered him a traitor, while others saw him a hero. ‘The truth is that he’s both, a hero who went to war, and a traitor who left his men’.That’s what they like to say anyways, the real truth is always far from what people want it to be, and is instead whatever they want to believe.

Eventually, Dorian resurfaced on the planet of Balmorra, by this point Malak’s invasion of the galaxy was in full swing, with force users a plenty on his side. The Green Masters sent one of their own to investigate whether or not Dorian had fallen to the ways of the Sith. Instead, all they found was a broken man, who had renounced his old ways. The Jedi left him there to fend for his own devices. Corellia wouldn’t gain anything by bringing him back.

Name
Dawn-Herald-of-the-Hatakari-Nest

Age
57

Race
Sephi
Natives of the planet Thustra - Purple/Pink skinned - Elf-like humanoids - 200 year average lifespan

Profession
Trooper (formerly)
Killik Joiner
Explorer

Equipment
Mercenary Armor
Jetpack
Blaster Pistol
Vibro-Dagger
Comlink

Personality
Dawn has very little of her own personality left after being joined to the Killik Hive Mind for so long. Regardless she does retain some of her individuality, a necessity in her role for the Hive. Despite her slight individuality, she still refers to herself as "we" and, like all Killiks and Joiners, she considers all forms of communication to be "songs".

Backstory
Dawn was once a Diplomatic Guard for the Sephi Ambassador to the Galactic Republic. In her role as Diplomatic Guard, she accompanied the Sephi Ambassador to planets all over Republic space. All that changed when the Sephi Ambassador went to Alderaan on a mission for the Thustrian Monarchy. While traveling from one Noble Estate to another, the entire party stumbled upon a battle between two warring hives of Killiks. The Alderaanian Guides attempted to warn the party of the danger but before they could retreat they found themselves caught in the middle of the battle. In the chaos, Dawn was separated from the party and stumbled, wounded and lost, into the wilderness where she was found by a group from one of the Killik Hives.

Dawn was on the edge of death when the Killiks brought her back to their nest. In her semi-conscious state they treated her wounds and fed her a strange substance which sated her hunger and restored her strength. However the "food" she was fed and the pheromones secreted by the Killiks themselves began to cause a change in New-Child's brain chemistry and, by the time she was fully healed, she no longer had any interest in leaving the nest. She was absorbed into the Killik Hivemind, forgot her old name and was renamed "New-Child-of-the-Hatakari-Nest", the newest Joiner of the Killiks.

For several years, she served the Hive as a Nest-Guardian, protecting and caring for the Killik Larvae. However as time passed, and the Hive absorbed more minds through joining, the Hive began to evolve. They began to take interest in the events beyond the nest, beyond even Alderaan. To satiate their growing curiosity about the wider universe, the Hive knew they would need agents to explore, to learn, and then to return to the nest to share their experiences with the Hivemind. New-child, renamed "Dawn-Herald", was among some of the few Joiners who were chosen to brave the Silence for the good of the Hive.
