Name: Rory Visculk (Alias: Charcoal)

Appearance:

Age:32

Gender: Male

Power: Rory has control over fire. He can make burn hotter. He can change the direction it burns. He can make it bigger or smaller. The only thing he can't do with it is create it.

Bio: Rory grew up in a small town in fairly normal environment. Sure he had his issues like any kid but he worked them out. After high school he moved to New York City to go to college. It was there that he met the love of his life. He met a girl named Jessica. After college they both went into the work force and moved in together.Rory was a businessman and Jessica made a living doing a professional magic show. She was incredible at optical illusions. Life was good for the two of them for a long time. They even got married.

Then it happened. They both found themselves one day with strange abilities. Rory could do incredible things with fire. Jessica could read minds. They both thought it had thought it was a gift. Rory quit his job and joined Jessica in spicing up her magic show with their incredible abilities. People came from all over the region to see the performance. This continued on for a two years. Over those years more and more people with abilities popped up. There were worrying stories on the news about them. Still the couple didn't think it was their problem. After all they had done nothing wrong.

One day the two were performing their act on stage as usual. The crowd seemed to love it. Then out of nowhere police wearing body armor and carrying assault weapons burst through the door and began shooting. Jessica was shot and killed by the officers and Rory was devastated. He forced to go into hiding. After a long time of slumming in peoples basements he was able to get a fake ID and rent an apartment. He worked in a CD store for a low wage but he got by.

It was during this period of time that the nice mild mannered man that had been Rory Visculk transformed. He grew angry and bitter about the tragedy that had happened to him. He took on an addiction to alcohol and cigarettes to cope. Eventually he became vengeful. He became determined to get revenge against those who were responsible for his wife's death. Any super powered freak who used their abilities for crime and of course the government who sought to murder the innocent just because they were different. He began going out at night covering his face with a welding mask and carrying a lighter as a weapon. He hunted and killed anyone he deemed responsible and then took any money they had on their bodies.

Personality:Rory has become a very rash, angry and short tempered man willing do anything to avenge his dead wife.

Name: Frank Waters

Appearance: He stands at 5 foot 11.

Age: 31

Gender: Male

Power: Can spot a good cup of coffee from a mile away, none.

Bio:
Frank was born in Yakima, Washington to a police rookie father and a housewife mother. As a young lad he idolized his father and constantly went raved on about how one day he too would become a 'policeman' just like his dear old dad and go about saving the town from whatever imagination filled villain popped into his head at the time of the story. Of course, there were spots in his teen years in which his angst got the best of him and he announced he hated the world and whatnot, but that was all talk.

It turns out the idolization he had of his father affected his later life as he did in fact join the police force after leaving university in which he studied law. He stayed on the force for quite a few years before being offered the position of detective within the force. He accepted with delight and began going through cases as best he could. It was only until a year into his new position that he met a case that plagued him for many years of his life. An arsonist had gone on a short and abruptly ended spree of crime within Frank's precincts jurisdiction without leaving enough evidence to gain a proper lead on the case. Frank took this to heart and began making it his life's goal to find and arrest the arsonist. He tracked him for years while juggling other cases and tasks set to him. The arsonist grew wiser as time went on, he stopped doing crimes as often and started spreading the buildings he lit alight out. The case was driving Frank around the bend he grew angrier and angrier with each day that the arsonist walked free. It was only until the arsonist affected Frank personally that he finally lost it. Frank's father was in the hospital after surgery on his bowels. Frank and his mother were visiting him when the arsonist struck again. This was the biggest case that the arsonist had done yet and now it was endangering Frank and his family. As the building set alight, Frank caught a glimpse of the arsonist just outside the window through the rising smoke. He leaped onto the fire escape and began a chase through the streets of Washington. He didn't think about the people in the hospital and the people he could have saved, just the ones he could prevent having to save in the future. The chase ended up in a secluded alley, a corpse lay in front of Frank and a smoking gun was gripped tightly in his hand. He only realized what he had done after he had done it.

He was stripped of his badge and gun. He had no idea what to do with his life. He spent about a year wallowing in self-pity and wasting his savings on cheap booze and fast food. It was only after his father had visited him that he had an epiphany in the night. He would move to a new city, start a private detective agency, get off the booze and get in shape. It was as if an angel had been sent to him telling him to turn his life around. He did just as he thought. He stopped eating fast food and replaced the liquor with coffee along with spending the last of his savings on buying a building, decorating it and getting all the equipment he needed to start the agency. He has been doing this for a year or so now and is quite content with the money he is making.

Personality: Frank acts as any detective should. He is calm headed and able to think on the spot if need be. That being said, he does have a few qualities not regularly found in detective stereotypes. While a detective may be thought of as a cool, silent badass who takes dames like he takes cigarettes, Frank is quite the opposite. He likes to talk quite often and would rather have one 'dame' than multiple. Along with this, he isn't too fond of smoking to be honest.

Name: Emilia Jones

Nicknames: Emma to her friends, Pixie to the world of supers.

Appearance: Emilia is pretty young woman with waist length platinum blonde hair and emerald green eyes. She keeps her hair in neat braided pigtails, and due to her love of Game of Thrones, has three silver bobby pins clipped into it. One for every battle she's won so far. It would be bells but they're too noisy when you're trying to stay hidden. Her fair skin is nearly unblemished and she never wears makeup. She's about five foot six and weighs 120 pounds give or take a few. She's thin and toned, but not overly skinny, with a nice amount of curves. She has long graceful limbs and fingers. She has small hips and breasts that aren't overly large or overly small, they're what she refers to as, the perfect groping size.

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Power: Emilia has power over the wind. With a few finger movements she can do many things. She can fly and allow others to fly using it, or lift objects as long as they aren't too heavy, or simply use it to blow things away. She can't actually create wind, so her powers only work above ground where there is actually wind.

Bio: Born into a life of luxury, Emilia's mother was a model and is now a fashion designer. While her father is a photographer. She's been forced to enter beauty pageants her entire life, including as a toddler. But she's always been more interested in playing outside and reading fantasy books than makeup and staying pretty. Throughout high school she was really popular, but only because she was pretty and her family had money, not because anybody actually cared about her or her personality. It was during that time that she discovered her powers over wind, and she secretly trained and mastered it, enjoying the freedom that flight gave her.

It was only after graduating and become a legal adult that she experienced troubles with her powers. She found her brand new apartment being broken into by armed policemen. Apparently her parents had known all along, and were angry with her for leaving the fashion and beauty life behind. But boy did they underestimate her, she had been honing her powers all these years, and it didn't take long for her to get a few kills under her belt. She escaped with nothing much but the clothes on her back and soon found herself living in an underground community made up of other people of all ages with powers.

Personality: Modest, patient, and kind. She's calm and level headed most of the time. But on the other hand she's stubborn, and strong willed. She's all about that grace. A free spirit that can't be tamed. She's loyal and protective with a lot of common sense and good head on her shoulders.

Other: Emilia keeps a collection of books inside her underground home, ones that anybody in the community can read, mainly of fantasy books, but some mysterious and horror stuff are sprinkled in as well.

Name:
James Arthur Qatr (AKA: Grease)

Appearance:

Age: Name:
24

Gender:
Male

Power:
James has the ability to make electricity, which sounds more fun than it actually is. Electricity is highly dangerous and unstable, making too much of it could kill James in an instant. Directing electricity over long distances is nearly impossible, but anything closer than 5 meter is possible. James normally uses his electricity for fighting other people hand to hand or to burn circuits and overriding systems.

Bio:
James Arthur Elqatran was born the youngest in a family of two in Canada. His older brother was 4 when James was born. His father was a succesfull bussinessman who had been in some kind of market for 19 years. James never paid attention to his dad's work. His mother was a sweet and caring housewife. James' brother, Michael, was going to take over his father's bussiness when his dad would pass away. James' life was easy. His parents were rich enough to buy him anything he wanted and he got all the help he needed for school.

His life was perfect, until an accident in which James, Michael and his mother were all involved in. That was around 6 or 7 years ago. Nobody knows exactly what happened but rumor has it that the driver lost control of the car and drove off a cliff. James' mother and brother both died on impact, James somehow survived. He woke up outside of the car, covered in blood and sweat. As he tried to stand up, he noticed that something was holding him down. Part of the car had fallen down on his right arm, which he couldn't feel anymore. Other parts of his body were also in really bad shape. The driver, who also survived, helped him out of it all. James passed out and woke up, days later, in a hospital. His right arm was no more, but he woke up with something else. Some kind of rush in his body. It didn't took him long to find out that he could make electricity. He knew that people with special powers were hated, so he kept is a secret.

Now, almost 7 years later, James lives in New York. The doctors gave him a prostethic right arm. His father holds James responsible for the accident and thus also for the death of Michael and their mother. His father wanted him out of his life. So he gave James 10% of his fortune and told him to leave Canada. James started a life as an 'artist' and changed his name last name to Qatr. When he's not trying to make art or walking around downtown New York, where he lives, he's training. He needed to start doing a sport as part of his rehabilitation process. He chose to do a couple of different fighting sports. It was a good way to get some exercise and get his anger out. At night he normally goes out, trying to find inspiration for his art. He likes chaotic types of art, so he's always looking for chaos and people suffering. If he can't find it, he sometimes even makes it himself.

Personality:
James knows his etiquettes and acts according to those. He acts kind, thoughtful and interested in other people. But in reality, he doesn't give a crap about other people and what they feel. James is selfish and ruthless. He is, just like electricity, unstable in emotions. The fact that he has enough money to come by makes him even more unpredicable, since he does everything for fun. Anything he does, he does for the kick, not for the money.

Other:
-He hates showering, since water and electricty don't go well. That's why he almost never showers, or goes swimming. His nickname comes from his hair, which becomes greasy from not showering.
-Fond of beer.
-Collects skulls.

Name: Aya Lynn Germain, a.k.a. Cosmos

Appearance:
Small and lithe, Aya's 5' build betrays none of her strength – she has years' worth of lean muscle hidden under her clothes, built up from doing judo. Her long hair falls down her back, straight and dark brown. She's never been one for doing much with it. Aside from the occasional ponytail or braid, she's content to just let it rest where it falls. Her eyes are a deep brown color, and fairly weak. She's supposed to wear glasses, but she often finds them too much of a hassle to put on, and dislikes the idea of contacts. Her clothing style is simple, but not without its edgy touches; she enjoys the occasional dress and biker jacket, or heavy boots, and has multiple piercings on her ears. She leans more towards earthy colors, like greens, blues, browns, and blacks.

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Power: Astral Projection
Aya is capable of extending her consciousness outside of her body. Invisible to others, her spirit form is capable of passing through solid objects or going into dangerous situations or environments she otherwise would avoid. She can also create projections of other people if she's touching them. She runs the risk of stranding them in the astral plane however, if she's not touching them when she snaps back to her body. Aya can keep up her projection indefinitely, and can hear and see everything around her. So long as she keeps up her concentration, she can also sustain the projection up to a mile from her physical location. When maintaining her projection, her physical body is more or less helpless. She's still conscious, and can talk to others, but it's difficult for her to move, and she is more or less oblivious to her surroundings. Due to her projection's intangible nature, she's also unable to influence her spiritual environment or talk to anyone through it.

Bio: Aya grew up as an only child on the island of Oahu, and was raised by a single mother. Though she was at her heart a kind woman, Ms. Germain had a strong, domineering personality. This, combined with Aya's submissive nature, meant that Aya often had very little control over her life, as her mother simply "always knew what was best" and Aya was too timid to say otherwise.

Aya discovered her powers at an early age. When she was seven years-old, a sleepover prank left her locked in a closet. She listened to her friends giggling in the other room as she clamped a hand over her mouth, trying to stifle her sobs. All she could think of was how dumb she'd been for falling for it, how afraid of the dark she was, and how badly she wanted out of that closet. The next thing she knew, her wish came true. She was standing in her friend's brightly-lit bedroom, watching her friends whisper and giggle to each other. But… they didn't even notice her. To Aya's horror, when she tried to tap one of their shoulders, her hand slipped right through. After that night, Aya became a more withdrawn, quiet person. She'd seen the news reports. People with powers – people like her – were often met with fear and hatred. Whenever there was a special article on some freak or other in the papers, her mother always had some choice words to share. They were never good ones, either.

Life was fairly uneventful for Aya after that. She didn't have many friends, but she was always a bright girl and her grades were excellent. She spent most of her time trying to not give into her curiosity and test out her abilities. After she graduated though, everything changed. Her mother had convinced (forced) her to apply for a university close to home. Aya, having lived under her mother's stifling thumb for eighteen years finally decided that she wanted to make decisions for herself and live in the college dorms. The resulting fight was spectacular. Because Aya didn't yet have proper control over her powers, when her mother grabbed her shoulder (Aya had been attempting to walk away from the argument, and Ms. Germain simply wasn't having it) Aya accidentally pulled her mother into the astral plane with her. She was horrified. Her mother was outraged because not only was her daughter a freak, but Aya had kept it from her all these years. Whatever hope of calming down was lost after that. The fight only became more visceral, and it ended with Aya packing her bags that night and booking a flight to the mainland, running away from the only home she’d ever had. She hasn’t heard from her mother since that night.

Aya wanted to get as far away as possible, and didn’t stop running until she arrived in New York. She had enough saved for a questionable apartment in a sketchy part of town, but not much past that. A string of bad luck (struggling to find work, multiple break-ins that shattered her confidence and bank account, and the growing paranoia that she would be persecuted should her abilities ever be revealed) left her desperate.

Finally one day she gave into the temptation that niggled at her: she used her powers to steal. Picking out a pharmacy that required a passcode to unlock instead of a key, she spent a day using her powers to map out the building and shadow workers, memorizing the combinations to both the front door and the safe in the back room. That night she put on her most shapeless sweater and wore her hood low over her face as she punched the code into the door with shaking fingers. Aya shoveled as much money and – on an impulse – pharmaceutical drugs into her bag as she could and ran from the store. It would've been the perfect getaway… if she hadn't bumped into a passing bystander and activated her powers on accident. Dragging the middle-aged man into the astral plane with her, Aya almost had a breakdown then and there. This was it. Her secret was out.

Frazzled and not sure what to do, Aya snapped herself back into her body – only to find she'd left the man on the other side. Hearing police sirens in the distance (reporting to the scene of some unrelated crime) she panicked and ran, leaving the man's empty body in the streets. The money was enough to pay her rent for the next few months, and she worked out a deal with her neighbor who… wasn’t the most upstanding of citizens. Apparently there was quite the midnight-market for the sorts of drugs she’d acquired.

Meanwhile, the man she’d… run into that night had been taken in by the local hospital and pronounced brain-dead. The next day she slipped back into the astral plane. And then she promptly slipped back when she found herself face-to-face with the same man. Unable to face what she’d done, she didn’t use her abilities again until half a year later when her money ran out and she saw no other choice but to reenact that night.

With a shaking breath she slipped back to the other side… only to find it empty. The man had died, and with it his projection fell away.

Since then, Aya has (thankfully) found a steady job working as a barista at a local coffee shop, and hasn't used her powers out of fear of being discovered. She still has nightmares about the man she killed (because that's what she did, in the end, isn't it?) and her neighbor gives her a hard time about getting back in the market, but nowadays Aya's as upstanding a citizen as you'll find. She's currently saving up her money so she can move to a better part of town.

Personality: Aya is a quiet and timid girl, with a struggling self-esteem. Though very clever and sweet, she's not the best at making friends or opening up to people. Years of hiding her powers from those around her have made her slow to trust and constantly afraid of rejection. Because of this, she's always eager to please, even if it means compromising who she is and how she presents herself. Once you actually get her to open up though, you'll find a playful and genuine girl, with a penchant for mischief and a low tolerance level for narrow-mindedness.

Other: Afraid of thunder, the dark, loud noises, rejection… let's just say she scares easily.

Name: Annalise Sköld

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Appearance: Annalise's on the shorter side, with a roll of fat covering her stomach and widening her hips. Most her clothes are ill-fitting things found from flea markets at the cheapest possible price.

Her face is round and freckled, which gives her a somewhat childish, innocent look to her. Her mouth - small compared to the size of her nose - is always twisted into a slight smile. Her eyes are heavy-lidded and surrounded by dark circles, making her appear tired even after a good nights sleep. Annalise grooms her brows to perfection, but her dark hair gets cut into a short bob every other month, and is often left uncared for.

Powers
Teleportation: Is able to teleport as far away as she wants so long she's has immediate visual contact with the area she's teleporting to. Sadly Annalise isn't able to teleport much more than herself like this. She's just glad she's able to use this power without losing her clothes in the process. Teleportation isn't a completely silent process, resulting in a faint snapping sound every time she appears in a new place.

Portal creation: Thankfully those she wishes to rescue and work with aren't left behind, either. As with teleportation, she needs visual contact to the places where she wants to open portals. She is limited to opening two portals at a time. Making portals much larger than herself requires concentration and time, and she has trouble keeping them stable while moving. The larger the portal is and the longer it is open, the more exhausted Annalise feels after the portal is closed.

Unlike teleportation, opening portals is completely silent.

Bio: Annalise's mother - Swedish in origin - moved to the US when Anna turned 5 years old, and married a wealthy business-partner the next summer. The girls grades were average and she wasn't the smartest person in the world, but she had plenty of friends and generally considered herself to be happy. Lucky, even.

Then something just... changed. At the age of 16 she started feeling tired all the time and she didn't know why. The exhaustion turned into depression as time went on, and Annalise found herself locked into her room with little to no contact outside of her family. After three years of panic attacks and social withdrawal, she was sent to a psychologist. She felt left behind by the world, but desperately tried to catch up. She didn't go back to school. Instead, she got herself a job at a coffee-shop. There were times when the work got aggravating, degrading even, but it was much better than doing nothing.

Then she discovered her powers, and everything fell apart again. Her parents, who had been so supporting before, turned on her. Threw her out without much of a notice, and then refused to answer her calls. Annalise found herself in New York, living in the tiniest, cheapest apartment she could find, barely scraping by. She heard of the people using their powers to steal money, and she'd been so incredibly tempted. How easy would it be to use her powers for that?

A few days later she had sat down at a small bar after a long day of work before someone pulled out a gun and demanded for money. The thug had found himself dropping through the ground and to the floor again. Annalise had snuck out before the panic had settled and the police found their way inside. She'd felt pretty good after that, despite the fatigue. In fact, Annalise had felt better than she had in years. She'd felt the adrenaline push through her veins when the thugs had hit the ground. She'd felt like she had helped.

The extra 50 dollars she'd grabbed on her way out didn't exactly weigh on her heart either.

If anyone asked, stealing was more of a hobby to Annalise. Annalise did her best to give a somewhat Robin Hood-esque image of herself to the public. She took from the thieves, gave to the poor and kept some of it herself. She doesn't like to call herself a villain or a hero. She's just another random no-body trying to get by.

Personality: Annalise's constant smile stays on thanks to years of practice. There's a constant feeling of dread over her, like she's waiting for something(or someone) to pull the rug from under her. At times Anna's smile is honest and she enjoys the company of others, but there are days when she cuts off all contact with the outside world. She can come across as pessimistic, both towards herself and others. However, she is an idealist at heart, even if she wishes others would do all the difficult work for her. To her, planning things out comes naturally. Actually putting the plan in motion is much more difficult.

Other: She doesn't have much of an alias. People throw ”Little Thief” and ”Hooded Bitch” around, but none of it really has stuck yet.

Name: Craig Davidson/Kreig

Alias: Medicine Man/The Monster

Appearance: A giant of a man, Craig has a body toned by several years of military service, along with many scars from both on and off active duty. Not only that but he was born with the face of a thug, a heavyset brow, square jaw, and a scowl seemingly permanently affixed to his mug. His hair is kept at the regulation length however he has allowed a thick stubble to cover his lower face. Craig's eyes are slightly odd in the fact that they do not match, not so much in color but in intensity. The left eye is gentle and conveys calmness while the right eye is perpetually bloodshot and insane.

Clothing is a simple affair, being homeless he does not have much in the way of selection. Commonly he wears a moth eaten red hoodie on top of a white tank top, tarnished jeans, and a sturdy pair of running shoes. Above that he only has two accessories, a thick pair of sunglasses and a necklace with many, many dog tags.

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Power:
Craig: Healing hands, by channeling his power into his hands Craig can mend bone, knit flesh, and cure the disease that plagues other people with lightning speed.

Kreig: Regeneration, when Krieg is let out of the cage the healing ability of Craig is turned inwards and creates a juggernaut of pain and rage.

Bio: Craig is a healer and a guardian. Being the biggest kid on the block he would watch out for bullies and make sure the little kids got to school with lunch money in tact. This moved with him all his life and culminated in him being drafted into the military as a combat medic shortly after gaining his training as a E.M.T. The military life did not suit Craig well, stopping conflict and helping people was in his nature but this was a little much. Plus mortar bombardments and seeing your friends brain ooze out of their nose did not do well for his psyche.

It was one of these prolonged "conflicts" that Craig learned of his powers. During a patrol gone wrong Craig was alone and feebly trying to keep a friends innards from becoming outnards. Inevitably his friend died and that was the Las straw for Craig. What happened next no one knows, only that Craig found himself surrounded by many bodies, bloody entrenchment tool in hand, and suit covered in bullet holes.

After his term Craig did not reenlist nor did he pursue his career as an EMT, instead falling into homelessness. During the first several years he has discovered his ability to heal people and has used it to good use amongst the destitute people of New Yorks scum covered underbelly, earning the nickname "Medicine Man".

Personality:
Craig: A humble, quiet man who just wants to make the world a better place however his psychotic breaks and lingering PTSD make organized planning impossible. Nonetheless he tries his best and gives all but the most horrible people the benefit of the doubt.

Krieg: A separate personality created by Craig's subconscious in an effort to protect the pacifist from others during the "conflict". Krieg is a violent psychopath will do anything to protect the "Small Man" from the "Demons".

Other: Due to Kriegs insanity he gains two abilities that, while not superhuman, do gibe him advantages in close quarters combat like reduced pain sensors and far less mental blocks put upon his muscles.
