@duck55223Either way, can you give me any help with either finding the missing civ profiles or just giving me a short summary on what's the average size of a nation/civ here and with what kind of tech?
I'd rather avoid being a sore thumb and accidentally making my civ either too primitive or too advanced for the setting.


Sizes, themes, and technology are all over the place really. The average size I would say is somewhere around 15 planets but even then technology is all over the place. Just do your technology as you please and then I will make sure things get balanced.

I love creative freedom in NRPs, which is why things are all over the place. It can be a bit of a downer in keeping things balanced, but as a plus side we have a lot more diverse and interesting nations.

I support freedom, too.
Having strict limits is better for the more competitive games or when you are actually building up your civilization during the RP.
Think of something where you start from almost contemporary setting to reach high end space opera levels.

Anyways, my original plans were for a small civ occupying a few star systems with only one or maybe a few barely habitable planets.
Technology-wise the most important war factors that I have superluminal energy weapons with unusually long range and my FTL method is kinda similar to Star Trek's warp.
I'll mostly avoid mentioning firepower and try to match it to whatever is going to be reasonable for the setting.
(My guess is that the other players pack more firepower than what I originally planned for my ships, thankfully space opera is very forgiving in this aspect)

Just mentioning this as a heads up.
Hopefully I won't break anything here.

This post is taking longer than usual -_-'. Sorry if this going to take a while. And I also love that there's gonna be more people in this thread. Though it would be funny if the "small nations" rise up and make a big alliance to try and go against the bigger nations. Would be a great idea.

Anyways, who wants to get the "honor" to make first contact with my civ?
I'm finished with the most meaty parts of the profile. Military and tech are only the "dressing" in comparison.
The basic idea is that the Morteans send an expeditionary fleet just outside of the uncharted areas in order to inspect a class-M planet which may be eligible for colonization.
If you check my "short summary" I have 3 habitable planets and 80+ billion citizens. I'm struggling with severe overpopulation from the hundred years of relative peace.

Already posted it in the char sheets section if you don't mind.
Only need to finish the tech and military but you don't really need that to know what my civ is like.
Though of course this is important when it'd come to battle.

The char section is usually reserved for accepted apps, but since its there leave it there for now.

Edit:I need military and technology done before I can accept app, it helps me prevent one person from crushing everyone early on and making sure everything remains balanced. And I cannot review it right now.

Yeah, after your previous post I realized that may be the case.

Yup, no problems with that.
I gave you a little heads-up with what may be an issue (FTL beams) but if anything is going to be problematic/amiss I have no remorse to fix them.

Could have done more detail in the military but all in all, it seems pretty good. Not up to me though.

Willy everything looks fine except your ship count. I am trying to keep them low to prevent ridiculousness, the max should probably be ~1,800 or so, and if your still going for the whole minor power thing ~1,000 might be more your ball game.

Just realized how much more land the Draconians have than most, then, cause... fifteen systems is a tad small for the Draconian Slaver Empire. They're not actually called that, but once other people see what they do to planets with sentient populaces, it'll likely be what they'll be called.

I see.
Well, the problem is that 2500 ships is already stretching it as far as things go for controlling my tiny but still multi-lightyear diameter territory.
It may be easier if I'd have faster FTL drives but slow interstellar travel is kinda part of this civ's style (at least in the beginning).
Perhaps I can reduce the size/power of my ships?
My peacetime fleets sporting almost entirely just Frigates may even make sense since their job is to patrol the area than fight wars.
