do you browse on a mobile?

Most of the time, yes. As I have not been able to get internet at my apartment, yet.

Hey everyone, I'm back.

I have some low priority pushes to make like updating the homepage. But I'm also gearing up for a platform upgrade in the Guild's underlying software stack.

I'll have to read the last 100 posts in this thread or so to remember where I was at mentally before my break. I have a dozen work-in-progress features on my computer and I don't remember which one is the closest to being done.

If I recall correctly, the email system was my main priority before I had to leave.

I'll be on Discord tonight so feel free to PM me even if I'm offline.

The GM thread management tools was something that you were also working on previously. The ability to remove posts by GMs are one of our highest request and it would give more control and management to the members.

@Caster

I believe it's a cookies issue so it could be how your browser saves cookies too. I had that issue with Dolphin browser on my tablet and I have to re log into all my sites on every session. My mobile never had that issue. Mahz may be able to improve the cookies save session, but that may also come down to the app developers.

i use mozilla on mobile, and that doesn't allow me to stay logged in, if that helps towards any eventual cookie-fixing. i think i used the brave browser in the past, which allowed me to, but other than that it's always been a mobile-based issue.

I swapped over to Firefox cause Dolphin had a terrible update that caused crashing, and I haven't had any cookie issues (yet, only been using it for a week). If you don't mind me asking, what phone do you have cause I have an S7 and even the base unit choice can cause issues.

Brave is good, but I personally didn't like it's style. It felt a bit too basic for my liking.

I dunno if there's other ways to save your log in, maybe through IPs, but that may present questions with security to which I'm not sure about. I know there's a lot more information transferred these days compared to years ago, so I'm sure there's something.

on firefox idk what it's doing tbh, it just doesn't let you check the "remember me" box at all. i reinstalled brave so i think i'm gonna use that more often, but my phone is a samsung galaxy j3 (2016 model). i can't remember if it ever let me check the box at one point, but since i primarily use my desktop and only use my phone for late-night browsing it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Oh yeah. I noticed that straight away. Only way I can see if the check box was selected is to do a text highlight and drag it over the box itself. Maybe a better option for that or even prompt will help with that.

yeah. or, if it's not too hard to code, a slider as opposed to a checkbox. where if "remember me" is off it's red, and then if it's on it's green. idk if that's entirely possible tho.

I also use a J3, but I use the google chrome browser. It works pretty well, I've never had to re-login since I first did after I got the phone.

Okay, thanks. Sounds like it's predominantly a mobile issue. I'll have to see if I'm encoding cookie expiration in a way that only works on relatively modern browsers.

@Grimhildr Wait, it won't even let you check the checkbox to begin with? Now that's weird.

@NuttsnBolts Oh yeah, I remember. I even rolled out the feature but had to reverse it due to a root issue with how deleted posts work with pagination.

I spent most of my Guild time this weekend fixing issues that prevented me from setting up the Guild dev environment on my new laptop.

idk if it lets me actually check it, but whenever i tap on it, a check doesn't appear, so something's going on.

also, minor issue, but when i use the fullscreen mode on the editor, the font gets super big so i have to zoom out on the page.

@Grimhildr Re: fullscreen issue. Same here. Looks like it's a relatively new issue possibly after updating the version of a CSS library I use. :(

@Grimhildr Is this cookie expiration issue a relatively recent phenomenon (<1 year) or has it been like this for longer?

i'm not sure since i only recently started using the fullscreen editor, but i'm confident in saying it's happened during my entire duration under the grimhildr account.

Is there a way to mention every member of an RP with just one mention? Like in the case of announcements, is there anything similar to a @everyone like on discord? I think this would be rather easy to implement, right?

Cause in RPs with a lot of members, mentioning everyone gets a little bit tedious.

i don't think that would be all that easy. roleplays don't usually keep track of their members within the code; there's not even a "roleplay members" system.
