Five years ago, a terrorist organization calling itself “Chimera” unleashed a weaponized fungus engineered from [Ophiocordyceps unilateralis](http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophiocordyceps_unilateralis]Ophiocordyceps unilateralis) .What started as a containable infection rapidly adapted and evolved into a lethal organism stopped only by fire or cold. What cities are left are run akin to military dictatorships… but it’s better than being outside the community walls. ### Rules 1- All RPG rules apply. That being said, this RPG will be rated T to M for violence, gore, language, and the like. 2- Please be respectful to all of your fellow RP members. If two RPers start arguing, I will have to ask them to take it to PM. 3- No godmodding. This includes controlling/injuring/killing another player’s character without explicit permission, killing two hundred zombies with your thumb, or surviving a fall from 3+ stories. In a nutshell, keep it as realistic as possible. 4- All profiles must be approved by me before posting. 5- I have a final say in major game changing plot decisions. No arguing 6- In this RP we will abide by a three-strike rule. If rules are broken, there will be consistent punishments: 1- Warning to player via PM and thread; 2- Injury of one or more characters, and a one-week ban from the RP; 3- All characters killed in the most gruesome manner possible, and perma-ban from the RP. 7- Have fun! ###The Infection: Fungus spores are spread through the air, as well as through bites. Once the fungus has entered the host’s system, it rapidly multiplies until it takes control of the host’s nervous system. Fungal growths begin appearing on the body in a matter of hours, notably around the chest, spine, neck, and head; one can tell long a victim has been infected by the amount and size of growths on its body. Once the fungus has taken control of a host, the victim is used to spread spores further, actively seeking new hosts. Spores are regularly emitted as the body moves, and even when the body can no longer function, the fungus feeds off of it, creating more spores until there aren’t even bones left. The easiest way to avoid infection is by wearing a mask. Gas masks and medical masks work best. Spores can only survive on a object for 10-12 hours though not much research has been done on the subject. --- Credit to Otaku95 for letting me reboot his old role-play. --- Now who wants to Survive?

Do you have anything like a dice system in place? To make sure characters fail and die realistically.

I have bit of a chart of things you can and can't do without dying That will be up, But basically the rule is just their to make sure people know what to expect realistic. Though i don't like killing off characters if its their own fault i won't show remorse, If your soon to be death was not by your own fault i may let your character get away with a major injury, not death. Bu things that can't be survived in the real world i can't help you with.

yes i will, but the internet is great for that stuff. though i would say that any head shot would kill you because blood would attract the monsters. Basicly its a death wish even if you survive.

I'm interested too, I like post-apocalyptic ideas. I finally found Fungus based Pandemic RP which is not Last of Us fandom. Anyways, there is a problem, how can everyone find Gas Mask Filters and medical masks? As far as I know, civilian masks are tested before selling and they also have NBC filters which will last 5 hours to 8 hours, may be more. But if toxic level is too much, it will last less. It can go down to 10 minutes. Opened filters last 1 years but this rule applies for normal use. Once it installed and exposed with NBC agents, the clock starts. 8 hours to 30 minutes or even less depends on the filter. So... We won't have long time. Also there is a time for Gas Masks too... Medical Masks can't stop NBC agents most of the time and it's another issue. But I'm just saying it if we're going to add some realism. Otherwise I have no problem.

As i said up their medical masks work, i know i have a box of them at home. At the spore don't really like heat so they can be reusable. Most of the times the spores won't float around. they will find something to settle on. medical mask would deflect the spore which only take hold to organic materials. so the medical mask would just deflect them. Sorry about not posting this yet. Im woking on a design.

Ok, so the fungus is not high toxic level Biological Agent. Good idea. What will happen if we run out medical mask or mask filters? Simply closing the nose-mouth will help us to protect it? I just want more information, don't take me wrong. When I find good ideas I just dig more to get more. :D

Uhh no and i suggest you go looking for some before you run out. Making a " mask" with a piece of clothing could help a bit but i wouldn't wear those for too long. Since its more organic the fungus would start taking cover.
