[IC] Pokemon: Next Evolution

Timothy White Timothy squinted from the bright sunlight coming through his window as he yawned and stretched his hands over his head. It was a satisfying yawn, the kind that leaves you with a half smile and as you contemplate waking up or going back to sleep. Being eleven and not sixteen, Timmy rolled out of bed, not really tempted to go back to sleep at all. With a quick and necessary stop at the bathroom Timothy was dressed and bounding down the stairs to break his fast in no time at all. While other trainers disembarked for Maple Town, Timothy was waking up there. Outside the sun was shining and the day was calling. He hoped to explore a little deeper into the woods today and find the tall tree he could see the top of from his bedroom window. He bet it would be a great spot to look out from and the perfect place to build his 'Frog Fort'

'Stay out of trouble when you're out there, kid.' The words printed on the letter, the very last sentence, still resonated within Heinrich as plane stopped its slow crawl up to the terminal. This was his door to a new start, a new area. He folded the note back up and put it in the inner pocket of his jacket before he rose to grab his bag and sling it over his shoulder. A small shape in the seat next to where Henry was sitting struggled from beneath the blanket that had been supplied by the attendant staff. After a few seconds, the blanket just floated from the seat and fell to the floor, revealing a solitary Beldum, its red eye looking on at Henry without emotion before floating over to hover just above his shoulder. "Was about time you got up, Belle. You must have been out like a light." Henry's gruff, loud voice said into the quiet of the slowly emptying plane. The Beldum simply turned to stare at him before turning back, its blue body shining in the light of the morning. Henry merely huffed and pulled a smaller paper note from his jacket pocket, skimming it quickly to remember the instructions given to him by his uncle here in the Celo Region. "Maple Town, huh? Now, that sounds kind of boring to me, Belle. Not sure about you." The Beldum once again turned to him and stared emotionlessly. Henry could tell it found this amusing on some level, but it gave no tell. He merely sighed as they exited the plane, following behind a boy with a Dratini and another boy nervously clutching a pokeball. A bored scowl decorated his face as the warm air hit him. This 'adventure of reinvention' was already getting on his nerves.

The boy ran into the city, taking in the sites and sounds, and gawking at the new surroundings. He shortly arrived at the bus station, and found that he would be allowed a free ride to Maple Town, courtesy of Professor Maple. "If I could just have your name please, we can be off in...10 minutes." The bus driver said checking her watch. "My name is Yoshi Tatsu." Yoshi replied. "Alright, just have a seat back there, and please keep your Pokemon in its ball. We have a 3' limit for open Pokemon." Yoshi nodded and recalled Raini, before sitting down. Meanwhile in Maple Town, the people were buzzing back and forth as the day commenced, and the Professor, along with his two masked assistants, arrived at the Pokelab, where an assortment of recently hatched Pokemon would be ready for those venturing forth into the Celo Region, and their own futures.

Timothy White Timothy stepped out onto the normally empty Oak Street to find it crowded with Pokemon trainers. His eyes went wide for a moment and then he remembered what day it was. Summer was finally here, school was out, and today was the start of the Summer Pokemon League Season. Young people would be flying, driving, and otherwise arriving from all over the world today. Professor Maple and his team were at the heart of the gathering, setting out starter Pokemon and interviewing trainers that still didn't have one. Timothy touched the ball on his own belt, remembering last year's event when he had received Froakie. "Professor Maple!" he hollered, jumping up and down with a wild wave. The busy man barely nodded in his direction, his shout barely audible above the roar of the crowd, but Timothy didn't mind. Instead he wandered through the crowd, excited about the day's unexpected events.

Henry's eyes were strained by the sun by the time he got to the bus depot. He gave a grunt of annoyance as he reached into his pocket and flipped open a small metal case, which opened to reveal a pair of thin, metal-framed, square shield sunglasses. He quickly donned them with a grimace and climbed onto the bus to find a seat. The driver began to squawk at him, "You're a trainer? How wonderful! You have a bit more of a mature look to you, sort of devil-may-care. Just your name please and you can take a seat." He sighed slowly before turning back in unison with Belle. "Name's Heinrich Irons, that all you need?" He tried his hardest not to sound immediately annoyed, and the woman nodded with a smile before directing him to a seat next to the window, next to that boy he saw with the Dratini back at the airport. "And sir, please do remember that we have a 3' limit on pokemon, so please retrieve yours if it is larger than the limit." He sat down and Belle came to rest in the breast pocket of his jacket, staring on at the woman with just as bored a look at himself. "2 feet here, it'll be fine. Belle's solid, probably punch a hole in this dinky bus before getting hurt anyway." He took a brief look towards the boy next to him. Yoshi, he thought he had heard? He gave a small nod of greeting, but didn't say much beside, "What's up," before returning his gaze to the environment outside, ready for the bus to depart.

"Oh. Hi. Not a lot, I was just psyching myself up for my Pokemon Adventure. My grandpa sent me here to start. What about you? Whyre you here?" Yoshi asked. Meanwhile in Maple Town, a small group of booths was near the lab for Pokemon themed games, and a large ring where people and Pokemon were expected to put on a show soon. JustIce walked out of the lab, followed by a Lucario. They headed for the ring ready to put on a show.

Henry shoots a look to the Beldum sitting in his breast pocket and it returns his gaze with that same, bored red eye as if to say 'the hell do you want from me?'. He sighed as he removed his shades and picked at the corner of his eye, little crusty bits of sleep still stuck after a light snooze on the flight into the Celo Region. His grey eyes were heavy with bags, but cool and stoic like the metal of his namesake, and his mouth was twisted down in a slight frown. "My folks sent me over here to live with some relatives. Got into some trouble back home and they're saying I need a 'new start'. Apparently I'm supposed to head to Maple Town, for who knows what reason. My uncle might meet me there, but he might not. Might even start up my own adventure or something. Whatever." His tone was short and sharp, but he endeavoured to change the subject as quickly as possible. "So. Apparently there's gonna be some Professor dude giving out free Pokemon or something over there? Is that what's happening? Because I'm more than cool with that."

Timothy White Timmy strolled through the town square full of people until he saw the staging area with JustIce and her Lucario's battle banners on either side. His eyes nearly popped out of his head in excitement and then he was bursting in full sprint to get a front row seat. He loved their performances and even released Keroma to watch. "It's JustIce and Lucario, Kero! Aren't you excited?" He exclaimed. He could barely contain his excitement, bouncing up and down. Next to him, his little, blue Froakie mimicked the excitement of his young trainer, ready for the performance.

Milo walked outside, the town already full of people a town of chaos. "This is the last time I'll see this place for a long time, my sister left for her journey before everyone woke up at least I got to say goodbye, I was up any way like always making sure dad didn't do anything." Milo thought to himself as he felt his covered eye, it happened a long time ago but it still felt weird. He scanned the crowd looking over the young ones to see Justice and Lucario, just like every year. "Another performance, another year, and more and more people. Just like every year." his thoughts trailing, and him phasing until suddenly he noticed a young lad practically dying from excitement, and a froakie following suit. At that moment Pooch came running up barking at Milo, pushing his leg in making Milo come down to his level so he could lay on top of Milo. "Hey Pooch, cut it out mini-man. It's a great day, and I knew you weren't gonna leave me cause today we finally get to go on our adventure. Though I think we'll wait around maybe travel with a few little ones can't have them getting hurt all alone out there." Milo said between Pooch's endless wave of loves.

The bus began to turn over, as it headed for its destination, Maple Town. It arrived shortly and Yoshi was taken aback by the festival going on. "Wow. This place must love Pokemon. Alright, I'm supposed to register Rain I at Professor Maple's Lap, so I'll head there." Yoshi said to himself as he let Raini our and the two trotted there. During the ride in Maple Town, JustIce and Lucario put on a show, a battle between Human and Pokemon that had been choreographed from the ground up and where one slip up could mean certain doom to either of the two. Flips to dodge aura balls, the two trading blows, and finally finishing with a Mega Transformation and an Aura Ball exploding into the sky with fireworks. The two bowed afterwards and headed to the lab as the Bus Arrived.

"Quite a show." Henry grumbled, slightly attempting to make conversation as the bus came to a stop just as the show was ending. Belle simply stared on with Henry and nodded slowly, seemingly amused. As the bus stopped and people departed, Henry pushed his way into the line, very eager to be off the bus for once and for all. His longer stride and higher fitness level meant that he could easily catch up to Yoshi, he seemed to know where to go and what to do. "Hey you didn't answer my question, was there supposed to be some free pokemon deal or what?" He removed his shades and placed them on the collar of his shirt, his resting face looked angry, so he could have easily been construed as being irate. Belle however, was surveying the area like a panning security camera, slowly swivelling left and right to get a good look at everything.

Timothy White "Did you see that, Kero? That was amazing! One day we're going to be able to fight like that!" "Froak! Froakie!" Agreed the little bubble Pokemon. "Alright, what's next?" Timothy said, looking around. "Shall we find a battle or look for a snack?" Though having recently eaten breakfast, Timothy was very aware of the snack vendors that went up with this event. Each year the spectacle of starting day became bigger and bigger, which seemed a nuisance to the older generations but a welcome treat to those Timothy's age. Licking his lips, Timothy turned to find some action. He turned in time to see several trainers getting off the bus and headed to a registration area and followed, hoping to find something good to eat there.

"Oh, I don't know entirely actually. I know I'm supposed to register Raini with the Professor, and he'll give me a pokedex." Yoshi said. Professor Maple smiled as he saw more people coming towards the lab. "Its a great thing that we have all of these Pokemon for people to use." He said to himself. Outside JustIce was heading back to the lab. The next show in half an hour was Kamen Flame's fire tricks. That's when she saw a trainer being assaulted by their Pokemon's tongue. "Ah, that's quite a bond you have." JustIce says.

Timothy White The young boy unbeknowningly ends up waiting in the registry line, thinking he's in the cue for snacks. He looks up at Yoshi and then down at the dratini coiled at his feet. "Excuse me," he interrupts, pulling on the older trainers shirt. "What kind of Pokemon is that? It looks a bit like a tadpole but I've never seen one like that before. And I'm an expert on frog Pokemon." The last thing he says with a bit of puff in his cheat, proud and challenging of anyone that might question him of his expertise.

Raini huffed at the idea. "No worries Raini. She's a Dratini, a Dragon Pokemon." Yoshi said to the little boy. "You said you're an expert on frog Pokemon? That's pretty cool."

Timothy White His eyes get bigger at the announcement of a dragon Pokemon. He'd never seen such a thing before. At mention of his knowledge, Timothy smiles and says, "Yep, and I plan to catch all the frog Pokemon in the world. This is Kero, he's a Froakie. He uses bubbles to protect himself and is going to evolve into a Frogadier some day." Keroma pats the bubbles on his chest and croaks in agreement. "Are you a dragon expert?" Timothy asks, looking back down at the dratini.

"No, I'm not an expert on them. They're just one of my favorite kinds of Pokemon. They're so cool in their final evolution, and usually cute when they're first." Yoshi said patting Raini.

Timothy White "Yeah, I think he's pretty cute too," he said, offering his hand for a scratch behind Raini's winged ears and a friendly smile. Timothy is distracted long enough to get to the front of the line with Yoshi.
