Well I was debating on if I should make quicksilver or not but by the looks of things I should probably hurry up and make him or something.

Character You Wish To Play: Pietro Maximoff - Quicksilver

Affiliation: The X-Men, possibly The Avengers in the future
Character Origin & Backstory: Having never known who their real parents were, Pietro and his fraternal twin sister Wanda both grew up in the presence of Erik Lehnsherr, a former holocaust survivor who claimed he was a good friend of their parents. The two grew up in the war torn Sokovia, where even from an early age they fought against the corrupted Sokovian Government at Erik's urging. While Wanda was very much for about the cause, Pietro wasn't quite as much, however he deeply cared for Wanda and went along with everything more to keep her safe rather than fighting the power.

As Pietro and Wanda grew older their X-Genes became activated and an already active and impatient Pietro gained superhuman speed. Making him even more impatient and irritable. Still he held to his own convictions and using their powers the two worked in guerrilla operations together until Erik Lehnsherr took Pietro aside and offered him a chance to do some work in another area.

With the growing number of mutants causing civil unrest. Pietro joined his adoptive father in The Brotherhood. There though he watched Erik clashing with respected college Charles Xavier on how to handle the crisis. The more of it he watched, the more Pietro lost respect for his adoptive father and in a moment that shocked everyone involved. Told Erik he was staying with Xavier when Erik left to form his own group.

Legally adopted and registered into a US citizen. Pietro didn't join the X-Men as it was being formed, instead wanting to find himself as all his life he had seemingly done things for other people. He discovered punk music and movies, both of which gave him a kind of joy he never really had before. He started learning how to play guitar as a hobby and has an impressive DVD and VHS collection. Though considering his snarky and simple minded approach to problem solving left Xavier cautious about having someone he viewed as the son he didn't realize he wanted being in the X-Men. Especially considering that Pietro's adopted father was rapidly becoming an enemy. Making Charles worry about where Pietro's allegiances will lay. However Pietro has assured Charles that he wants nothing to do with his former father. Having gone so far as to dye his normally white hair brown to show his changed ways. While he searches though for his sister Wanda however, Pietro has put his attention to being a part of the X-Men. Knowing that he's got a long way to go in order to earn their trust.
Power and Abilities: Able to reach speeds around 770 mphs, aka the speed of sound. All while not suffering from any wind or frictional problems. With his powers Pietro has very high reaction times, and can accomplish feats such as running across the top of water, running up the side of buildings, and running in a circle fast enough to create whirlwind vortexes. Though he hasn't quite perfected it yet, Pietro can also vibrate the molecules in his body fast enough to essentially phase through solid objects.
Sample Story Arcs: - Pietro's first and foremost goal is to show his new found teammates in the X-Men that he can be trusted despite his past.

Pietro after some time searching finds Wanda only to realize she's changed for the worst.

- (Hypothetical idea) When the X-Men have Pietro play double agent and join the Brotherhood as a means of stopping them from inside. Pietro struggles with finding complete acceptance in the group and has to choose if he can stay loyal to the X-Men.
Sample Post:

Pietro sighed irritated as he glanced back over at the clock, 10 pm. Once again all he could do was regret making it to the bar so quickly as the rest of his friends were apparently taking their sweet time. Sure Pietro could of just borrowed one of Xavier's cars and just drove to the sleezy bar like a normal person. But that wasn't Pietro's style at all. Plus just sitting in New York City traffic would've been worst. Gritting his teeth Pietro ran fingers though his chocolate brown hair as he glanced around. It was hard to explain it to someone who didn't understand. But while they were all suppose to meet up around 10, even just the few minutes of waiting was killing the Eastern European.

Finally though they all arrived, Pietro had to bite his tongue as he said his greetings to them while holding back the string of expletives he wanted to spew out for them making him wait around and drive a screwdriver while the band was doing its last tune ups. For all he knew though Pietro's friends didn't know about his superhuman running. They have said they were completely cool with mutants in discussions in the past. However as Pietro would say to other mutants, “My powers are no body's fucking business...”

“Alright so what the Hell band is this?” Pietro asked, his voice still dripping with the Eastern European accent his always had, as the performers were on stage about to start. “They're called The Dazzlers, some group out of LA.” One of his friends called back as the feedback from the speakers hissed off of a plugged in guitar. The lead singer, a woman who looked pretty frail but dangerous enough to not want to say it to her face, stepped up to the microphone with a snarl.

“IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SHOW YOU CAN KISS MY F---ING A--!!!”

“Ah she's a woman after my heart...” Pietro half-joked as the band started into their first song.

Yeah I was originally going to use either Days of Future Past or Evolution Quicksilver but I came across this piece of Mabel and Dipper from Gravity Falls as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver...


I dug the idea of a brown haired Quicksilver and outside of the hair and face I liked Age of Ultron Quicksilver so I decided to just use that.

Plus I liked exploring Quicksilver's background with a more rebellious nature.

Truthfully though I'm not happy with my concept for Ant/Giant-Man. Since the more I wrote with him and all that the more loopholes I kept running into. Really its when you run into your own loopholes that you need to stop and rethink things.

A few problems/issues I see in your application.

1) Quicksilver (and Wanda) are from Slovakia, the real-life central European country, or from Sokovia (from Age of Ultron)? Just asking because the spelling is quite similar. If you intended on having them from modern-day Slovakia, note that during the period that Pietro and Wanda were growing up there, it probably would have been Czechoslovakia (the dissolution of Czechoslovakia happened around 1989, so that is about around when the Brotherhood ended). Technically there was a Slovakia (or rather a Slovak Socialist Republic), but it was still part of Czechoslovakia. And I assume Magneto was fighting against the Communist Regime, correct?

2) I don't know about anyone else, but I kind of envisioned the 80's Brotherhood similar to The Company in Heroes. Of course there would not be the "one of us, one of them" rule, but they would have worked more in the shadows. I am fine with mutants being around for quite some time and everyone else (non-mutants) just did not have a proper name for them yet (and the X-gene has not been discovered until relatively recently in the IC. Maybe I should write up an NPC applications for Professor X, Magneto, and Nick Fury so that everyone is on the same page.

3) The application does not make it really apparent whether or not Pietro is currently part of the X-Men at the moment. That would be important due to the X-Men related story-arcs happening at the moment. The sample post makes it seem like he is, but he isn't.

4) After trying to look up Eastern European, I finally concluded that no one can really agree upon the boundaries between Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe. I give up! Wikipedia says that Slovakia is Central Europe, but the Eastern Europe page is a total mess.

5) I see you name dropping Dazzler, although apparently she has the mouth of a sailor now...

As for if his in the x men or not I was having him just now becoming an established member after doing a little personal soul searching.

Honestly the only reason I did the whole sokvia stuff was because it worked into Era's plans. Really though if you don't want to accept it I don't mind. Would just be easier on everyone else I think.

So that's a "No, he is not on the team at the moment so he is not going after Spider-Man or the Brotherhood. However, he has had a connection with the Xavier School and is trying to get onto the X-Men roster"?

No, no. I don't have any real problems with that part of the background. I just wanted to point out that in your application, you wrote that Quicksilver is from Slovakia, not Sokovia. If you really meant to say Sokovia (i.e. the fictional Eastern European country in Age of Ultron) and NOT the real-life modern day country called Slovakia, which use to be part of Czechoslovakia, you need to change those references. From the post I am quoting, it seems like you meant Sokovia (MCU country); however, your character sheet says Slovakia (which was NOT in Age of Ultron).

And when you say "Era", I assume you mean Eru. As your character sheet stands as of now, it does not conform with Eru's "Purple Man" CS. Right now, according to your CS, Magneto was fighting the Communist Regime in Czechoslovakia and NOT the Shadow Conquerors in Sokovia. Again, if you meant for the 80's Brotherhood to be fighting the Shadow Conquerors in Sokovia, you need to replace all references to Slovakia to Sokovia. I am fine with and all for your character sheet matching up with Eru's Purple Man. You just have to make sure it actually does.

Anyways, I just needed clarification whether you actually meant Slovakia (real-life country) or Sokovia (fictional MCU country). That was it (besides his relationship to the X-Men, which was vague in the character sheet). I just needed a simple clarification on these two questions. But I guess it doesn't matter anymore if you are rescinding your application.

It was Sokovia, and my thought process was he had just joined the X-Men before the recent issues so he would be joining them going after the Brotherhood.

Eh truthfully I've been suffering through my depression since I ran out of anti-depression meds and haven't gotten around to refilling them. So I'm being kind of pissy. I'll try to decide what to do but I'm defiently not sticking with Ant-Man. I don't like the idea I had for him and considering I already have two super geniuses in Stark and Richards having a third seems redundant. Quicksilver I don't know yet if I'll stick it out with him or what.
