The Dark Arts Society(Another HP RP)

The RP will take place the very first year Hogwarts was open after the battle in book seven. Even with magic, it took one year to repair it, and during that year parents of school aged children had to educate their children themselves, which has led to a lot of students(first years in particular) having a widely varying level of skill and correct knowledge. Thirteen year old Jackson (Jax) Dobs returns to Hogwarts after a year living with his muggle parent(can't decide which parent was magical). During that year, to keep up with studies so he could stay in the appropriate school year, he was forced to study independently. The only knowledge base he had for DADA was actually the literal Dark Arts education that the Carrows taught. So upon return to school he feels as if the DADA education is severely "watered down." To make up for it, he starts a secret society at school, akin to Dumbledore's Army, but with the goal of giving students a more complete knowledge and understanding of the Dark Arts. He believes that magic is only "Dark" when it's used for evil, and so even the most cruel or macabre spells could be "good" if they were used against "bad" guys. His society has the same visceral, unforgiving teaching style that the Carrows were infamous for. Students are pitted against each other in all out magical slugfests. Sure, sometimes disarming is the right trick. But what if they have a second wand or some other protection? Better Crucio that unarmed wizard just to be sure. This club is not only against school rules, but against wizarding laws, and so keeping it a secret has the highest of stakes for those in it. Jax will use the most unsavory tactics to keep people quiet. And let's not forget what's happening outside of the Room of Requirement. Minerva McGonagall is the headmistress now, and other than her ascension to that office and replacement as both Transfiguration teacher and head of Gryffindor, the staff remains mostly unchanged. The only three new teachers are for DADA(of course) Muggle Studies(the previous one, I believe was killed and replaced by Death Eaters) and Transfiguration. Blood Status: Pure Blood. Personality: Quiet, perceptive, and cunning Aedan is a very fast thinker and thrives on split second decisions. He has a good mind for how spells work and has little trouble learning and casting. As a Selwyn he has been brought up in the traditional pureblood lifestyle. However Aedan has issues with standing still for to long and tends to get headaches, which have been blamed on him having heightened senses. Wand: Red Oak and Phoenix Feather. House: Slytherin Best Classes: DADA, Charms, Transfiguration. Worst Classes: Potions, Herbology, History of Magic, Astromancy. History: Aedan was born to a pureblood and very muggle racist family. He is cunning, smart, sly, and quick with spells that other first years would probably not even try. He's obsessed with the dark arts, and studies the techniques and spells from the Death Eaters. His parents kept him shielded from the worst of the fighting during the war but there was only so much they could prevent him from seeing. As the time got closer and closer to him attending Hogwarts he made a pact with himself, despite his heritage and love of the Dark Arts, he would watch and wait, patiently deciding how he was going to go through school.

Blood Status: Pureblood Personality: Skylar is a curious soul always seeking out new information. Whether fiction or instructional, you will usually find this girl's nose in a book. Inheriting her mother's intelligence, Skylar has a knack for school work and plethora of knowledge tucked away in her brain for future use. However studious the young Sky may be, she did inherit her father's sneaky streak. Always up for a good time, Skylar will take part in whatever scheme in order to have a little fun. Her concious doesn't allow her to harm others, though danger isn't always out of the question. Wand: House: Best Classes: Charms and Transfiguration Worst Classes: Herbology History: Skylar's mother, Jadaria, was a Ravenclaw in Hogwarts many years before she had her three children. One of a set of twins, Sky is technically the middle daughter in a family of boys, her older brother only a few years older than herself. Jacob, her twin brother, is a much quieter personality, often overshadowed by his sister's hyperactivity. Their father was one of the many Death Eaters to attack Hogwarts, lucky enough to get away with his life though his current whereabouts are still unknown. Skylar's mother, however, never seems very worried about him, as if she was perfectly sure that the man she loved was alright. Wanting to follow through in her mother's footsteps, Sky dreams of becoming a Seeker for the Ravenclaw quidditch team despite not yet knowing which House she'll be sorted to.
