Marshall all but explicitly stated that the nuking was the result of the last UN meeting. The nukes didn't fall in 2088; 2088 is when the RP takes place.

I think I'll probably make a new nation. And this one will be something of a city-state; a big ol' walled city surrounded by mutant and cannibal infested wilderness/wasteland. Maybe; I still haven't fully decided. I might just keep the one I have.

You said earlier the start of the RP was 2042? Also, I agree with TSG that it is...unlikely that diplomats at the United Nations would do that, to say the least. :P I wouldn't be surprised if that was a rumor that was floating around, but ultimately I think what happened was that one nation nuked an adjacent nation under the pretext of preventing the spread of the Reaper Plague - stop refugees from running into their nation and spreading it, which inevitably escalated into a total worldwide nuclear exchange.

Er, I don't think discussing the specifics of how the planet was nuked would interfere with the RP. We could discuss it as the RP goes on, since it's not something that necessarily matters to the setting. The planet was nuked, that much is certain. But it'd be nice to have a somewhat realistic reason as to how/why.

how bout it varies from place to place? Like one persons says it was them Americans, and another says it was the Chinese. Or it was the Canadians trying to keep American's from spilling across their border to escape the virus.

But we as the players should still know what exactly happened, regardless of what the people themselves think. Unless Marshall wants to just say 'we don't know what exactly happened'. Which is fine too.

I mean those more as topics you need to cover, not an outline lol. I don't mean to throw you off. I think people should RP this how THEY are comfortable and not feel stuck to one type of posting. If you want to do paragraphs thats fine, if you want to do census type mode go right ahead.

@Everybody@Marshall@Enalais@TheSovereignGrave I do agree that a 'We don't know' would be fun to work with as a propaganda source. I could say the Fourth Reich nuked Germany, oppressive Chinese might have nuked Tibet, jealous and power-hungry Mexico surprise nukes the US, tons of possibilities. Also, since you said 'whatever is comfortable' I would like to stick to my format and jump around characters. I also cannot wait to see if this can turn into a short-story, although I think it might better classified as a novella as assuming this goes for a month and 8 people post 8 paragraphs a week, 236 paragraphs is a bit long for a short story.
