[IC] Young Justice; The Heroes of Today! [IC and OOC]

Casan had been waiting patiently behind Talon when Orb Weaver broke out of the hold,"The one time I'm glad they resist" Casan let out one more roar before charging towards Orb Weaver. It didn't take long to reach the two of them thanks to his massive size. Casan swung at Orb Weaver with his massive wing, hoping to if anything at least throw him down and away from Talon. Pariah was already behind the mobile swarm. She tried to figure out what was so different about this group and after a quick observation she inferred that this group was programmed to target civilians. "The mobile group is targeting civilians, I'll try to draw their fire but I'll need reinforcements. This is a large group", Pariah left her communicator on to receive status updates...and to see what information she could get on them. Focusing her fire at the front of the drone swarm Pariah managed to get the attention of all the drones..but not how she intended. The drones scattered, taking evasive maneuvers while staying on target.

Orb weaver landed rather unceremoniously on his butt, and sensing another attack coming, started to roll to the side. He hadn't noticed Casan's landing at first as he'd been so preoccupied with avoiding whatever came next, stifling a yelp as the weapon cut into his arm as it whizzed by. The criminal stood up and dusted off his clothing, grumbling quietly in aggravation, but ultimately none the worst for wear. With numbers stacking against him, Orb weaver contemplated just putting back the jewelry so long as the heroes agreed to do him a favor in the future. Unfortunately he'd never get the chance to as Casan rushed him and struck him in the side with a wing, knocking the wind out of Orb weaver and sending him sprawling into the street. The criminal remained conscious, albeit extremely sore. "I really hate that shape shifter..." He groaned as he slowly got onto his hands and knees, wincing as he felt a sharp pain in his ribs.

The mobile swarm were targeting civilians, the city was in chaos and to make matters worse Morningstar hadn't reported in since earlier in the day, the radio was void of his bright and almost disgustingly cheery voice. In truth Arron had gone home to see his parents just outside of Happy Harbor, it wasn't until he and his father flipped on the TV that Arron knew his team was in trouble. Arron turned to his parents, "I gotta..." His dad placed a hand on his shoulder, "They need you son." Arron nooded and took off out the door stopping in his parents driveway to call in on his communicator, "This is Morningstar. I'm on my way. Arron put away the communicator and looked up at the sky, "My friends need me..." Arron closed his eyes as he roared the word, "Shazam!" BOOM!!! The magic lightning hit Arron transforming him instantly into Morningstar. The moment he was changed Arron took off flying at speeds exceeding 250 mph. He tore through the city at this speed and when he spotted his first robot he flew right through its chest destroying it on contact. He had heard Pariah's call for backup and that was exactly what he intended to give her as he zoomed into the area grabbed one drone by the feet and started using him as a baseball bat to smash other drones. -------------------------------------------- In another part of the city Serena was walking about when she saw the news being played inside of a coffee shop, the city was in absolute chaos and now was the time. Serena took off into the air now donning her Yellow Lantern Corp outfit, moments later she arrived on scene where a two men in masks seemed to be under attack from some hero who had turned himself into a dinosaur, A wicked smirk played across the obviously insane snakewoman's lips, she used her ring to create an RPG and just before she fired it at the dinosaur she screamed in her best attempt at a movie voice, "Say hello to my little friend!!!" The rocket fired and before anyone could react she had summoned two rapid fire SMG's and started unleashing hell on the hero, "This is fun! We're having fun now right?!!!???" The yellow lantern locked eyes with Orb Weaver and smiled almost terrifyingly while continuing to shoot and dart around to keep from getting hit, "Don't stop now...Kick his ass!!!"

Well I can see my test drones are easily out matched in strength. Maybe change that later, obviously there are some things I could add to my normal suit. Some electrical protection, lots of it of course. Watching as his drones were effectively shot or beaten down he realized he was down to his last squad. Then on the TV a blur of yellow blitzed his test dummies. Superman? No, he doesn't wear yellow. Witnessing as the new hero began pushing around his test droids he decided to take action. Reaching a hand into his coat he pressed a button on the inside of his jacket, trigger the 'Rapid Launch and Destruct' sequence; which as the name implies forces the robots to push their boosters to the max and explode on contact. Watching the tv screen in the cafe Theo stifled a smile as his droids went into action a final time. The last remaining droids, including the one Morningstar was currently holding, all began to spew a stronger jet of energy from their feet. One droid was currently on the floor when the signal went off, soon enough it shot into the air bringing down a billboard, another was currently flying through the air after being hit by Morningstar, it shot off back towards the ground and exploded into a parking lot.

Casan was about to strike Orb Weaver again when something hit him from the side and exploded on contact. Before he could figure out what it was bullets rained down on him. The explosion didn't rend flesh but the impact did manage to do a number on his rib cage. The bullets delta like he was getting hit with hundreds of metal ball bearings which bruised and broke the skin of the gigantic dinosaur. "I'll deal with you later...", he thought before taking off to confront the woman who attacked him. It didn't take long for him to reach her and when she was within range he began to snap at her with his jaws. At one point he managed to get a good look at her and realized she was not human. Humanoid maybe but definitely not human. He checked to see it she was Kartathan but it quickly became apparent she was not. For a moment before this realization he had a sliver of hope that another of his kind, despite being his opponent, had made it to earth. Now that hope was gone and in its place was the need to bring this snakewoman down along with Orb Weaver.

Serena was super surprised when her bullets didn't do anything to him, after all they were made with Yellow Lantern energy. He should have been damaged allot more, Serena flew back and created a giant net right over top of the giant dinosaur to keep it from eating her, "AHHHHHH DON'T EAT ME!!! I JUST WANTED TO HAVE FUN!!!" Serena started crying a bit as she made twin miniguns on each side of her and hid behind them, "YOU'RE A BULLY!!!" She continued to cry as she unleashed a wall of gunfire that could have destroyed a city block, "I'm a super hero!!! I won't let you hurt these people!!!" ----------------------------------------------------- Morningstar watched in slow motion as the droid he had smacked back exploded on the ground, Morningstar threw down a bolt of magic to contain the explosion an in the same motion took the robot he was holding and shot up after the one that had hit the billboard grabbing them both and taking them high above the city and smashing them together crushing them as the exploded around him. He called in over the radio, "This Is Morningstar Does anyone else need aid?"

The surprise appearance of a dinosaur like animal startled Talon for a second after he realized it was most likely one of the other heroes of this town, the fact that it wasn't tearing the robber to pieces was evidence enough. "I had that under control." Talon muttered under his breath. Then all of a sudden a voice far in the air shouted a line from Scarface. Taking notice Talon took the chance to dive for cover behind a building. The explosion from the yellow lantern's rocket forced Talon to the ground, along with tossing up dirt around the area. As yellow bullets rained down on the area, mostly on the animal hero, Talon took notice that it was a yellow lantern attacking. "Call your friends!" Talon shouted as he tossed his smoke bomb high into the air, and at the lantern. "We can't take her like this!" Talon continued as he saw a net being formed over Casan.

Casan was unsure whether or not the snakewoman's claim to being a hero was true. She seemed...unstable. However to someone just arriving this would be a confusing situation to comprehend. His first thought was to shift to normal form but realized that would leave him vulnerable to her machine gun attacks. In an attempt to fall back a net fell over him and he was pinned to the ground. Suddenly a smoke bomb obscured his sight of his reptilian attacker and Talon suggested he contact the team. "...why did I hesitate to do that in the first place", he thought to himself as he activated his communicator. "Team this is Skinwalker, I have two hostile supers at my position. One is the escaped bank robber from earlier today, the other is a female humanoid reptilian with hard light technology. Approach with caution!" ----- Pariah was engaging the now scattered final swarm when they suddenly began to go haywire. Flying every which way and exploding the second they made contact with something. One managed to come dangerously close and the shrapnel of the resulting impact smashed into her mask. Thankfully all that was destroyed was the part of the mask covering her left eye. "The drones seem to be self destructing. Whoever is controlling them seemes to be giving up. It's time to meet.", Pariah left the scene. The drones would take care of themselves and at this point the collateral damage didn't matter.

Orb weaver found himself rather surprised as he was once more saved from the wrath of the heroes. "I'm either the luckiest man alive, or the universe just likes to watch me squirm." He growled as he stood up and examined himself a bit. His ribs still hurt, and at least one of them was likely bruised, however nothing felt broken at the time. The criminal noticed his gun lying not too far off from him and retrieved it before taking aim at the massive outline of Casan, still slightly visible through the smoke. "You know, I don't think i'll feel too guilty about killing you. After all, it isn't murder if you aren't human." He hissed with a sneer as he opened fire. Thanks to the smoke, Orb weaver wasn't quite sure where or even if he was hitting Casan, however he was certain that with two more magazines to spare he'd get lucky eventually.

As soon as he sent the message out Casan was hit with a barrage of bullets from another angle. The combined fire of the Serena and Orb Weaver began to take its toll on him as each round slammed into his leathery hide. He could feel each round getting closer to breaking skin and sure enough it did. The bullets became lodged in him but not deep enough to kill him. However blood was spilt and it was unlike the crimson color most would expect to see, Casan's blood was a dark green but not as thick as human blood. In fact it flowed out as quickly as water from a hole in a balloon. His strength to fight was waning as his resistive stance soon gave way as he lowered his head and onto the ground. He could only hope now that the team would arrive soon.

Upon hearing gun fire, normal gun fire, Talon turned his head to see the robber from before now unloading a clip into Casan's hide. "No!" Talon shouted as he tossed a four of his kunai at the gun and the hand holding it, intending to wound him forcing him to drop the gun, or disabling the weapon entirely. Then using his other hand he pulled out his grapple gun. Springing towards Casan Talon gripped the wounded hero as best as he could and tied the grapple around his body. Why is this guy so big? Talon asked himself. Then aiming his grapple gun he fired it onto a rooftop, lifting up the wounded hero, with Talon hitching a ride on his back. As they emerged on the rooftop Talon threw another smoke barrage into the air, hoping to keep the Lantern's sight off of them until Casan's friends could arrive. She obviously has light, but what good is that if there's smoke everywhere.

Morningstar heard his Communicator click on and suddenly he could hear the dire voice of Casan, He was dealing with two hostile supers, Two could be to much for just Casan. Morningstar Radioed back in, "Casan...I'm close...I'm on my way...Hold on for me bro." Morningstar took off again shooting between buildings at speeds that most others couldn't reach, He approached the scene and saw the deranged woman with Hardlight tech, But what shocked him was what she actually was. He radioed in once more, "Guys this is urgent...we got a Yellow Lantern down here!" After he radioed in he decided on a split second choice to stop her from firing those guns, Morningstar drew back an started pulling energy from around him sucking in electricity from around him like a leech, then once he was glowing with energy he didn't hesitate to deck her from behind, "Leave him alone!!!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She was shooting and now she had him pinned down, Serena was having fun right? Serena looked at Orb Weaver as the dinosaur went down and started bleeding, "See..we win!" She Looked at Orb Weaver, "Don't kill him..." That's when suddenly she was punched and sent flying into a building with a loud boom. -------------------------------- Morningstar looked at Orb Weaver with a glare of pure destruction, "Get out of here right now...or so help me I'll leave you in the stratosphere. --------------------------------- Suddenly the building exploded and a glowing yellow apache helicopter was floating in the rubble, "so you came to ruin the fun to huh?"

Orb weaver found himself fighting the urge to laugh as he laid into Casan, he was by no means a man who took joy in the idea of killing, especially considering he'd never murdered someone before, however this was different. Maybe it was his growing aggravation towards being interfered with twice, perhaps it was the affront to his until recently unmarked reputation, or perhaps it was a deep seated primal need to remove something that was not human, but Orb weaver felt immensely pleased with the thought of killing this abomination. The gun clicked empty, prompting a curse from Orb weaver, he could hear Serena telling him not to kill Casan, however before he could retort, he felt an excruciating amount of pain in his gun arm. The criminal dropped his weapon and clutched his limb, noting that there was now a kunai embedded in it -rather deeply he might add-, as well as three more embedded in his gun, destroying the weapon. To further add to his troubles, the calvary that Casan had called in had arrived, and said calvary was pissed. Orb weaver took a moment to glare balefully up at Morningstar but relented. "Alright, i'm gone. But me and the shape shifter have a score to settle. Feel free to tell him that." Orb weaver yelled over the sound of the helicopter before shouldering his bag and taking off. It was time for him to call it quits on his antics it seemed. After all, the knife in his arm would require medical attention, possibly even a hospital visit. Orb weaver chastised himself as he ran, ashamed at the fact that he'd gotten greedy during the chaos and chalking up everything that had happened as karma biting him in the ass, "I'll just go buy a new goddamned laptop tomorrow. For now it's time for a bit of rest and research on these "Young Justice" punks...".

Now on the roof and away from danger Casan shifted to his normal form to find himself riddled with bullets just skin deep. It hurt like nothing else but he managed to get to his feet with a serious limp. "Thank you for getting me out when you did, I don't think I would have survived any longer with those two", Casan said to Talon weakly. The bullets needed to be removed but that would have to wait till later. "Our work is almost done. We need to deal with the Yellow Lantern before she-Ah! Damn!" ---------------------- Pariah was sitting at a bench in the park waiting for the Young Justice team to show up. "These supers have to get their act together, fortunately for them I have a plan. One they'd be foolish to reject", her thoughts were interrupted by the sharp pain in her arm as she looked at the cut the piece of shrapnel left on her. It would heal soon but that didn't mean it wouldn't hurt. The city was hit hard and Pariah began to wonder how Sera was holding up. "She'll have to wait. Business first".

Wonder Girl was about to go towards the Drones and kick some robot butt, but then they were slowly exploding into pieces. Whatever it was, it had to be someone who was controlling those Drones. She sighed trying to catch her breath and noticing Pariah leaving. Wonder girl also had to go back towards her team, they probably were looking for her, especially Blue Arow. She didn't want to worry them, so slowly, a hand on her stomach she flew towards the direction. Good thing she got the location before the communicator was broken, yeah the boy gave it to her back but it was still broken!

Lucy aka Torch Lucy was destroying robot after robot alongside Blue Arrow. She heard sounds of a fight on Casan's end but it sounded like the others made there way and dealt with that. God this day had gone to shit. She was angry. Angry that the world couldn't give them a break for one god damned day. She scowled as she took out another robot. She spoke into her comm, "Anyone who's free, we could use some help clearing up the park," before rolling to avoid being hit by bullets that had been shot out of one of the drones. She grumbled, "God the least you bastards could do is shoot at me with something creative. Like explosive bullets or something. Super villains and their toys," before launching herself off the ground and on top of the drone. She hated her job, but at the same time, there wasn't anything she'd rather be doing. Except for sleeping. She'd really like to be sleeping.

Despite Pariah stating her work was done the park still seemed it have some resistance as she saw Torch a long ways off fighting off the remaining drones. "I wonder if I can hit one from here", she wouldn't be bragging. Her training has made her an excellent shot. Still Torch could manage to get in the way,"...eh worth a shot". Pariah raised her rifle up and took aim from the bench. She set the rifle to stun so as to not kill Torch from the shock. She took a deep breath and in the moment between inhale and exhale she squeezed the strigger and sent a round hurtling towards one of the drones.

Arrow was waiting as he listened, hearing all the chaos being reported in. It seemed like everything that could fall apart, would fall apart today. Now a yellow lantern was attacking. Suddenly, as he was about to make the command, all the drones would start destroying themselves. He was confused. "Team, report back to the park. The drones are self destructing. We need to regroup and figure out what's going on. I'm heading to help Morningstar. Somebody let Wondergirl know." He would turn to Torch and tell her to meet with the rest, as he leapt onto his board and quickly burst off towards the battle.

[The Patriarch]

Charles heard Blue Arrows call and made his undead disappear as he headed towards the others. "What are your plans?" he asked the young hero as he regrouped with the team. --- Nikolai decided to get the heck out of there before he was caught in the explosion if the drones went off. "Dasvidanya you american pigs" he said to them and headed for the exit to the park.

Morningstar stared the woman down with no fear in his bright blue eyes, "You seriously messed up today...Whoever you are." His arms lit up with white electricity and sparks started flying off of him, "Cause no one hurts my friends." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Serena smiled wickedly from the Helicopter, "We were having such fun!" She pouted a bit, "And then you ruined it!!!" She smirked as she aimed her weapons at him, "Now leave me alone...Cause you're a bully as well!!!" Serena fired off her missiles and they all honed in on Morningstar, "Dodge these then..." ----------------------------------------------------------------- Morningstar had been expecting her to use the Helicopters Machineguns, so when the rockets started coming he could only manage to throw up a small light barrier which after the third rocket, was gone. Morningstar wasn't about to let these rockets hurt innocent people so he took off into the air and led the rockets up high and then stopped and punched the first two before tons more slammed into him over and over. After the barrage stopped Morningstar looked a bit worn, "You know what...That one hurt." Morningstar arced lightning between his hands, "You're going down fruit loops." -------------------------------------------------------------- Serena cursed loudly and followed up with, "I hate cereal!!!"
