Don't worry about it dude, it happens to me all the time XD Any way I might as well bring up this topic. Where would you guys prefer to start this RP at?
Whelp, I suppose our characters are going to be similar thenWell look either its that or Keldir is OP. Anyway Rossete said she had a libary, she never said she was good in theory, or perhaps I missed that bit.I think I'm involved with this as it's about my character, so I'll try to clear up some of the stuff about her. She's indeed a Scholar type character(Hence her occupation) and she is themed toward being better at meta physics/theory of magic rather than the practice(as she is still learning how to master spell casting) at least in non prepared settings.
Well, it would make less sense for your character to be similar to mine. It would imply that he doesn't have much ability in spell casting due to lack of talent rather than lack of experience, unless that's what you're going for.Its not. But as I said before I wrote the character not really thinking about the fatc that hes OP, so im at a loss on how to make him weak.

But as I said before I wrote the character not really thinking about the fatc that hes OP, so im at a loss on how to make him weak.Well, you can still be a very talented destruction/spell slinging focused mage. Potential is different than actual power, and it would be hard for a wandering wizard to have access to the same information he would have in a solid learning environment, and one of the best at that. The GM seems to not want "The absolute top class of mage in Tamriel", but they're fine with talented. You could always say that events happened nearly the same. Your character was talented and growing as a student of magick and showed great promise and abilities, and one day could've been great. But they started to dabble in forbidden arts and got kicked out because of that. Logically speaking, no matter your talent, without a teacher to teach you and other such resources(such as books, records, and artifacts), you will be limited in your capability to grow and learn as a mage. In that sense, he has been held back from reaching his potential due to not having good resources and a whole academy backing his research, just what he can afford to get on the road(And what little resources a court would give him). He isn't the strongest in Tamriel at the start of the RP, but can slowly fulfill his very high potential over time.
I'm glad to help. We squishy mages outta look out for each other. Uck, swords, so uncivilized.Lol such peasants the rest of these people are! I was looking over your CS and I was wondering, isnt Mysticism and Alteration the same? I remember in the first few Elder scrolls they had Mysticism but in Skyrim they spilt it into Illusion and Alteration? This brings up a bigger question, what ES game are we using for our skills? Each game is different from the other so shouldnt we settle on one? Or at least for us magikal folk anyway?
I say probably stick to Skyrim's format since that's the ES game most are familiar with, also screw your swords and spells! Not gonna do much good when your body's skewered with arrows! XD Well to be fair a practitioner of Mysticism is still possible, just because the mechanics were removed from the game (but not entirely because they were combined with conjuration (binding and such)), doesn't mean that its been struck clean from the universe itself. Also, good luck getting those arrows past full plate armor and a shield, along with the arrow fodder that are my subordinates... why should I need to lift a finger when the rank and file are more than capable of doing?Ever play dungeons and dragons I got deflect arrows for free I'm a monk :P
