Ame resurfaced in her own body, sprawled out on Celaena and covered in blood. Blood? Not hers. Celaena's. Celaena had a really bad nosebleed.
She gasped, yanked a handkerchief out of Aery's pocket, plugged Celaena's nose. She and Silly propped Celaena up against the very rock she'd fallen on, tilted Celaena's head down so that she wouldn't choke on the blood.
"I don't understand why Ansel took her, only to let her go as soon as I asked!" She mumbled. "That woman is crazy!"
Silly looked at her sharply. "Don' call someun' more powerful than ye crazy, Ame. Ye of all people should know tha'."
Ame sighed. "I know, just... I don't understand it." Still pinching Celaena's nosebleed off, she used her other hand to shake Aery, who had gone into an almost-comatose state as soon as it became apparent that her help was unnecessary. "Aery, wake up. We've got to keep going."
Silly got up to get one of the water flasks and spilled a bit of it onto Aery's sleeping form. In an instant she was awake, and she tackled Silly to the ground, a dagger almost magically in her hand. And then she realized who it was and fell back, dropping the dagger. "Silly, oh my god, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was just so tired and I just fell asleep and I didn't know where I was. I'm sorry."
Silly giggled, a little nervously."Oh, it's okay. But we best keep goin'. An' I don' think ye should sleep on th' road, not when Celaena had such an accident before we'd even been goin' fer an hour!"
Aery winced. "I'm up t' a hundred hours though, an' I don' think I ken make it much longer without losin' it entirely. Still, I'll stay awake, fer the sake o' the group." Her voice had reverted to the street slang she usually used with the urchins, so exhausted was she.
