Yeah, I'm thinking that when he accepts the offer, he'll do so on the condition that he wants five days to himself before he officially takes the title, so he can travel back out to the outer villages to tell his companions what's going on, since I don't think he'll be able to see them before then. That's when he'd be able to fill them in and *possibly* say goodbye (I could also see him secretly staying in touch with them if they decide to move back to the inner kingdom to raid nobles there like they used to cx)
