Also, I'm thinking it might work better to throw in a dinner scene when they get ready for the night (Crow's going to convince them to sleep in the woods, since there's no inn in Wheldrake, and the thieves don't know any locals they could stay with) because I had another few ideas for how he's going to go about sabotaging the knights lol

I'm thinking it should take a little longer before Gavin figures Crow out though, because it makes more sense for him to follow Crow after he's already got some reasonable suspicions, rather than going after him right away.

I was thinking that too. By the way, when were you thinking he would follow him? The first meeting or a different one?? I originally thought a different one but it's a bit unlikely they'd be camping together again anytime soon if they continue to lose leads cx Plus I don't think Mia would send Penelope out again since she doesn't like having to send her lieutenant out so much. I'm up for any suggestions though if you have something planned :D

Also I was thinking Younis should probably attack soon since they know Brerra's at a disadvantage right now. Idk when though. Maybe a battle happens while they're gone?

Let's see... Jaxon wanted Crow to meet him in three days (which lines up with the current night), so I was going to have him drop by the thieves' camp to give his first report. I could see Jaxon wanting to know how the patrol ends up going, so he would tell him to meet again at the end of the trip (probably closer to Myrefall). Maybe Gavin would double back from the knights' camp once the mission is over and follow him then? Gavin is already super suspicious, but maybe something during their time in Wheldrake would tip him off a little more. For example, Crow is only going to eat a small portion of his food for supper because he knows it's laced with a sedative, so maybe Gavin could find where he dumped the rest of it and suspect that he had done something to cause them all to sleep in late the next morning? If not that, then I'm sure there could be something else to clue him in that something's off ^^

I was thinking the same thing, actually. It would be pretty devastating for the knights to go back to their camp and find it wrecked from an attack from Younis. That might also make Gavin angrier and provoke him to tail Crow the same night.

That works for me! Penelope will definitely ask Crow about why he's eating so little so Gavin could potentially over hear that too so it adds to the suspicion of when he finds the rest of it. Maybe a couple other small things too could lead to him being suspicious enough to follow Crow cx
Also I totally forgot but were we going to have Gavin convince Penelope to go with him when he follows Crow? xD so many plans I lost track lol I figure he could start pestering her about suspecting something is up and of course, she won't take him seriously so when he decides to follow Crow, he could bother her enough to go just to prove him wrong xD

Crow's definitely going to try to be sneaky about hiding the fact that he's not eating the food he tampered with xD
I could see that too. During the day of the interrogation, he's going to be exhausted from staying up for a good portion of the night to run around doing Jaxon's bidding. Gavin might catch onto that too.
I think the plan was for him to go alone the first time and then try to convince everyone else that something's up when he realizes Crow is working for Jaxon. When that doesn't work, he pesters Penelope to follow Crow with him a second time later on. That's when she would learn that Gavin was right all along (or so it would seem ;3)

If we want to change anything, I'm open to other ideas though. We don't have to stick to the first plan if you've got anything better

Honestly, I'm not sure how Crow's going to react when Penelope confronts him (especially if she's furious enough not to let it go this time), so I can't wait to see how that plays out

Yeah I mean, I have to see how it goes but I'm pretty sure Penelope's going to hold a grudge against him for a little while cx Both because he's been lying to her so much and because this time his lie put everyone she cares about (including him) in danger by helping Jaxon, which I think is going to be the bigger reason for her with the battle hurting the camp.
