Sorry I haven't been on! I had work all day and then I went out clubbing with some coworkers cx I'll try to get a reply up soon!
On the brightside, I have the next three days off so I should be on quite a bit lol

And honestly xD he's going to be so disappointed when he realizes that he didn't lol

No worries! I've been going to leadership training for the club I'm part of for all of last night and today
I probably would have only been on for like an hour or two, even if you did get a post up lol
I actually just got home from a 7 hour session like 10 minutes ago xD

Cool. As of right now, I'm completely free until Wednesday (aside from my classes), but now that my friends are back in town, we've been arranging a lot of hangouts, so I have no clue if my schedule will stay that way or not ^^;

Oh dang xD

Ok c: I should be on unless my friends plan something too lol Work started cutting back on hours like really bad so I have a ton of days off now and it's crazy.

Gavin's going to end up starting a cooking class xD

Crow barely managed to fool Gavin this time

Wow. Are you gonna stick with it or start looking for a new job?

Gavin's going to be even harder to fool in the morning cx

I'm not sure. They're in the process of promoting me and once they do that should guarantee me 24 hours a week so I might just stay. If not though, I'll probably start looking for a different job. legit only have like 16 hours next week

It'll be hard for him to pin the blame on Crow though, if his plan works ;3

Ah, okay. Hopefully you figure out what works best for you ^^
Would the promotion come with a pay raise?

True xD That's the part Gavin's going to struggle with the most lol

Yeah I just have to see how it goes at my work a little longer before I make any decisions cx
Yeah but not a very big one. So it's debatable if it's even worth it xD

Crow is persistent xD

Makes sense ^^
The most insulting raise I was ever offered at any of my jobs was 5 cents lol It's kind of a funny story
I used to work at Kohl's, and I was one of their best credit card solicitors I was a manipulative little scumbag xD so when I was moving to a new city for college, they wanted to keep me on at their other store because I brought them good money. They were like "we'll pay you more" and when I asked how much, they literally only offered me a nickle. Like bruh, that's going right into my taxes anyway lmao
Obviously, I turned them down and put in my two weeks right then and there xD
My boss wasn't pleased, but I wasn't about to keep working my tail off selling credit cards (while taking full-time college credits, mind you) for a freaking nickle

Penelope caved pretty easily xD

That's bad xD
I think my work is a little better. I need to double check but I believe it's like a dollar raise. plus it gets me off the front end and off the cash register so I count that as a bonus in itself lol

Crow is kind of a goofball cx

A dollar is pretty good for a raise, especially at a place that starts you at minimum. A nickle is just insulting xD
Do you know how long it will take for the promotion to go through?

Penelope likes that xD

Yeah xD
I'm not sure. Honestly the reason I'm kinda considering looking for a new job is because it feels like I keep having to fight them and push for them to hurry up and promote me already. literally had to almost quit for them to finally start the process I did all the only training but now I need like the actual training and my manager was suppose to speak with the manager of floral to arrange that soon but I don't think he has

They're adorable cx

That's pretty lame. Did you threaten to quit by any chance? I've heard that a lot of corporations will postpone promotions to nudge employees who have been around for a while towards quitting, because they can just replace them with new ones who will work for lower pay. Obviously I couldn't make the claim that that's what your bosses are doing since I don't work there, but it's a messed up business strategy that a lot of companies use to dodge around giving raises/benefits to employees and keep more money for the big-names at the top of the chain. I've also heard that if you threaten to quit, they could basically see it as a pass to just let you quit, because you're telling them that you're willing to look for a job somewhere else if they don't give you the raise.

I don't have a lot of trust in corporations, because I've learned a lot about their garbage policies to treat employees like tools ^^;
I would hope that's not what your bosses are doing, but you never know

They are cx

Yeah but only after they said they were going to promote me and then took forever to do it. They aren't pushing me to quit. The problem is that they really just want to keep me on the front end and not give me a promotion because they need me up there since I'm a combo clerk and they only have like 3 of those right now. And I hate the front end and I've been there for three years so I'm over waiting lol So that's why I'm having problems with them

We can throw in a skip earlier this time, since the "after" is more important right here xD

Dang, three years? They better give you a promotion if you've been there that long. It sounds like they just don't want to train a new worker
I've worked POS too, and I'm not a fan ^^; I love people, but I've never been more disrespected than by customers in a checkout line lol

Right xD I went ahead and threw it in

Yeah lol I'm pretty sure that's the case too so we'll see how it goes xD
I firmly believe some customers just aren't even humans sometimes XD The lack of common sense or any sense of manners is just lost half of the time plus I'm an introvert so like not a people-person to begin with really XD

Crow is back to scheming again lol

Honestly xc Especially older women. They're the ones who always hassled me over expired coupons lol
Sounds like it would be harder for you then, haha. My husband is an introvert, so he's the same way. He's currently trying to get a full time programming job, so he won't have to deal with people anymore xD
Meanwhile I'm looking into bartending because I want to be around people more

Oh also! I just remembered that I never gave you any of my crazy customer stories. I have some amazing ones xD This one is one of my favorites: When I was working at Kohl's, this woman came into the store and asked me where the lingerie was. I worked registers at the front of the store, so I was pretty used to giving people directions, so that was normal. I just didn't realize this woman decided to peg me as her go-to person for EVERY QUESTION SHE HAD. Like literally everything.

Let me tell you what I mean by everything.

So she walks off to the lingerie section, which is in the middle of the whole store, and picks out some bras to try on in the changing room. From my register, I did't have a view of that section, because it was behind jewelry, so I went back to helping other customers check out. Usual business. After about like 10-15 minutes though, the lady from the lingerie is back... TOPLESS.

So real quick reminder: I'm at the front of the store. She had to have walked all the way to my register past the other customers to get to me.

Anyway, I kinda just stared at her as she was walking towards me (in full view of the floor-to-ceiling windows that lead to our public parking lot) asking if the bra she had on looked good on her. Totally freaked me out, because I had only dealt with fully-clothed customers before. In hindsight, I probably should've gotten a manager involved, but my dumb brain decided I could take care of this crazy woman myself. So, I pulled the whole "yeah, it looks great, ma'am, please go back to the fitting room" while other customers were walking by observing the whole weird exchange.

Meanwhile, this lady keeps getting closer to me saying stuff like "no, no. You have to look at it" (as if I couldn't see her topless boobs). Eventually, I managed to convinced her to go back into the fitting room, but she freaking did it again with TWO MORE BRAS.

That was by far the most uncomfortable day of my working life xD
Although she did end up buying the bras, so I guess I sold them to her successfully *shrug*

I've got more if you're curious xD I've met some wild people

Poor Penelope doesn't realize it's more of a convenience than an inconvenience XD

I don't blame him lol
I applied at a cat cafe that's opening up near me so I could just take care of cats and deal with less people cx

And oh my god. I'm so glad I don't work in retail. Like the people that come into grocery stores are bad enough but that just sounds like a whole new level of crazy XD I can't believe someone would even think that was like an ok thing to do like what the hell? xD

I just get people acting like I can magically change the rules/prices or make whatever product we're missing suddenly appear lol

And really? I'm up for hearing it lol

It's going to be so bad when she figures him out ^^;

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun! Random question: Are you cat person or a dog person or both?

Man, it wasn't even just retail for me xD Granted, most of my stories are from Kohl's, but I've got some others too. I think I just somehow ended up attracting crazy people.

Here's another good one:

So my first job ever was at a Joe's Italian Ice (You might have heard of it, since the main locations are in Anaheim). I think I was about 16 at the time, so don't judge me for this one (it was sort of my fault for being an inexperienced dummy). Anyway, I was working a closing shift with two of my coworkers on a Friday night. We usually had more people working weekends because it got so busy (normally there were only 2 of us), but this time it was weirdly dead, so one of my coworkers, Lloyd, decided he didn't want to stay.

Side note: Lloyd was a character. He was probably the biggest manipulator I've ever met in my life, to the point where he literally convinced the owner of the store to trust him with the store credit card, which he secretly used to buy himself and the rest of us Burger King. Also, he showed up to work drunk/high almost all the time, and would even clock in for random shifts he wasn't scheduled for (out of uniform) because he was bored xD Our area manager didn't give a crap though (he thought it was funny when Lloyd was so high he parked on the sidewalk), so he never lost his job.

Anyway, Lloyd ditched me and my other coworker, Rachel, to close up the store alone, which we were kinda peeved about because we wouldn't be able to leave until after midnight and we were two high school age girls without weapons to defend ourselves.

So here's the scene: me and my also young female coworker very much on guard at about 11:30PM lol

That's when the dude walked in.

Right away, both of us got weird vibes from him, because he was acting really weird (didn't look at the menu; just headed straight for the counter, where I was standing). I still remember that he almost looked homeless. His clothes were really old, he smelled awful, and he had used cigarette butts in his hair. I was pretty sketched out because I've seen crime movies, and my first assumption was that this guy was up to no good. I didn't really have a lot of time to figure out if he was dangerous or not though, because he walked up to me and said: "I need you to look at something for me" (His words sounded really weird, like his tongue was swollen)

So this total stranger starts removing his shirt right in front of me (people just like to take their clothes off when I'm around, I guess xD). At this point, Rachel and I are freaked out thinking this dude is a flasher. There are a few other customers in the store, but they haven't noticed him yet. Again, I don't know how to react around topless people, so I just stared at him as I was trying to comprehend what the hell was happening.

Spoiler: The dude was not a flasher. He took his shirt off because he had three spider bites on his chest, and he was wondering if we knew what kind of spider had bitten him. Unfortunately for him, Rachel and I were both too flustered by everything that was happening to react, even though he was clearly having a severe allergic reaction to whatever had bitten him. I think the rest of the conversation went something like this:

Guy: "Can one of you call 911?"

Rachel has pretty much turned to stone with shock at this point and has been staring at him tongue-tied the whole time.

Me (who's never called 911 before in my life): Here *straight up hands him the store phone in panic* (oh lord, I still feel so bad about that lmao)

Guy proceeds to attempt to give the police his location and medical information while his mouth is swelling shut while two high school girls stare at him stupidly.

After a while, a firetruck and ambulance arrive to get him, and at this point the other customers have noticed something's up, so they start to stare too.

But wait, this is the best part.

This guy - this absolute CHAD - notices the sirens, hangs up the phone, turns to look at us and says "Looks like my ride is here." And then straight up walks out of the store like a damn champion. I will never forget that xD

Extra: We called Lloyd after the guy left to tell him what happened and he never left a shift early again

It really is xD

Both! I lean more towards cats just because I appreciate how quiet they usually are when they're not tearing something up cx but I love dogs too!

Omg you've had some wild experiences xD I love that he just walked out like that lmao what a legend
I can't say any of my stories are like that most of them are pretty tame and didn't happen directly to me lol I guess I usually avoid that trouble somehow

Like one time I had just started my break, like literally just got to the break room at the very back, and one of the cashiers was paging me to come back up front. So I went ahead and went back to see what was going on, thinking maybe they wanted me to wait a little longer before I left or something, and it turns out that a fight had started lol

Some angry customer started knocking over displays and my manager and another cashier had escorted her outside of the building and when they did she started punching at them I guess. Idk exactly what happened-I ended up on the register during all of this because the cashier had left and that's why they called me up XD-but my manager came back with like a swollen cheek and the cashier had a couple bruises on her arm. Then the police came back later to see if they wanted to file charges or anything but they didn't because my manager just wanted everything to be over with

Oh geez, that ended up being way longer than I expected @.@

Nice cx I love both too, but I'm partial to dogs because I like having an adventure buddy.
My cat hates cars and just yowls the whole time if we need to transport her lol

I have xD Those are definitely the two best stories I've got, but I'm sure I could think of more if I wasn't so tired right now.
I don't know why I end up around so many crazy people, but they always leave me with good stories, so I'm not gonna complain

Oh dang. I've never seen a fight happen like that in a store before. Sounds like it was intense!
I have actually seen a street fight once in LA though xD Two beefy guys literally got out of their cars and went at it in the middle of an intersection in the city lmao. It was wild
