"So, that shows again that you shouldn't speed through a red light on high speed, because you will get hurt. Back to you in the studio, Hiroshi." Kenji said ending his report. He looked the the small television screen that always had to be carried along.

"Thanks, Hiroma. In other news, the new company-" Hiroshi spoke while Kenji walked towards his car. Kenji smiled to his colleagues before getting back into his own car. His job for today was done. It has been a weird and confusing day. For once he was happy that someone else had the evening shift of the journal. It all began last night. He was just done with working and got home. As always he took a nice hot shower, however when he stepped outside of the shower he suddenly saw a tiny girl laying on his bed. Like expected he asked what she was doing here, and then saw her playing with his video camera.

He quickly ran over to her to grab it out of her hands, but she wouldn't let Kenji do that. The girl introduced herself as Muru Muru, the assistant of Deus Ex Machina, the current God of this world. Kenji was shocked to hear this, but his attention was caught. Murmur told that he has been chosen as one of the candidates to get his job. She tells that Deus has enchanted his video camera so it could predict the future. She threw the camera into Kenji's hands and winked, saying that she had to go to the next person and disappeared.

He couldn't believe that what happened last evening was true, but today he noticed that his video camera indeed predicted the future. The car crash, he already saw that the car had crashed on his video camera. He made use of it and took the crew to the intersection where the crash happened, and witnessed it. They were there before the crash happened, yet his video camera displayed that it would happen. He parked his car in the garage of a rather large house in the suburban of the city. He went inside and sat on his couch, letting a deep sigh out. "This is really strange. But what if it was really real?"

"This is reality, Sixth." Kenji looked forwards and saw a huge skeleton faced being standing in front of him. He looked around and saw he wasn't in his home anymore. He was in a large round dome colored with a purple tint. Next to him was floating Murmur on a ball, so the giant being must be Deus Ex Machina. "Join the others." Deus spoke. Sixth suddenly saw he now was standing on a white platform, and as he looked around there were eleven more of those plus the giant throne of Deus. And the weirdest thing was that they also seemed to be floating in the sky. Seven places were already filled, five more to come. In the middle of the circle was an extra platform, probably for Muru Muru as Deus had his own throne floating further and higher than the other platforms. The other five joined rather quickly though and Deus began to speak again.
Deus stood up and spread his arms. "Well then, now that everyone is gathered, allow me to explain about this survival game once more. The diaries you possess, they are called Future Diaries. They were ordinary diaries you were using, but now they distort time, and entries can appear from up to 90 days into the future. The diaries change, depending on the actions of the owners. Suppose your Future Diary prophesies your injury from an accident. When the owner reaches the prophesied point in time, and take actions contradicting the prophecy, reality will be altered and the future will change." Deus explained while showing a simulation of a person walking in a straight line falling down on a spot and walk further again. "If you avoid the prophesied entry, the future where you get injured will also change, and your future entries will be overwritten." he explained while this time the person avoided the spot he had fallen down.

"However you are not the only one who can alter the future. That is why it is called a survival game. When it's confirmed that another diary holder is going to kill you, you will receive a death sentence. That is the Dead End notice. To do this you will have to discover who the other diary owners are and find them, using your own diaries and methods. Find their identities and set Dead End flags. If someone sets the flag on you avoid it by any means necessary. That's the essence of this survival game." Deus rose again from his chair that was floating in the unreachable section of the gathering place. He spread his hands widely.

"As for the last man standing in this survival game, he or she will become the successor to my throne as the God of Space and Time. Live or die. There are twelve of you left. Kill before you are killed, and claim the throne of God." there was a moment of silence until Deus spoke again. "The meeting is adjourned." he said and everyone returned to the place where they were before.
Kenji chuckled a bit after he had returned from that sudden meeting. So now he was involved in some kind of survival game. He looked to the camera in his hands. And this thing would predict the future in the same way he has been recording things with this thing. This game could be very interesting. "I can have the power to change this world... I can become... God." he mumbled to himself. The game has begun, the first action will be executed tomorrow, he has the whole evening to think of something. And he isn't going to waste this chance.

"So, that shows again that you shouldn't speed through a red light on high speed, because you will get hurt. Back to you in the studio, Hiroshi." The man reporting the car accident nodded to the camera as the display on Hikaru's television returned to the anchors at the studio. "Thanks, Hiroma. In other news, the-" The screen went dark. Hikaru returned the remote to his desk and reached for a small black book, opening it about half-way through, where he had used a pen to mark his progress. He lifted the instrument and began to scribble the name of the man who had been reported to have died in the car accident, until something strange occurred to him.

Hm? His name... It's already here?

Hikaru inspected the latest entry of the book. To his surprise, it was the very entry he was about to write, already completed.

Arata Nori: 21st/April/2006, 15:49

But that can't be... I only just heard the report...

Just then, a young and feminine voice made itself known, startling Hikaru in his seat and making him instinctively turn around. "Pretty cool, huh?" Seated in thin air was a small girl with lavender hair and clothes. She spun around until she was upside down. Even though she was several feet aloft, her long hair skimmed the carpet. After a long pause, she spoke again, "Well?" Hikaru shook his head and looked back up, only to see that she was still there. "I'm real, you know. But it's ok, Twelfth. I'm sure the others won't get it right away either."

"... Twelfth?"

"Hehehe, come with me, He'll explain everything," the girl chimed. In a flash, Hikaru found himself in what seemed like a bright void. He stood on a large circular platform, one of twelve platforms that were arranged in a circle. One by one, silhouetted forms appeared upon the other platforms. Other... people, he presumed. Their looking around caused Hikaru to guess that they were just as clueless as he was about this. It all seemed so random, but one being would make it very clear just how organized this all was...

Deus Ex Machina.

He introduced himself as such, in the form of a massive humaniod-esque skeleton resting upon a giant throne. In detail he elaborated the purpose of what he called a "survival game." Upon resolution of his debriefing, Hikaru found himself alone in his room once more. He reopened his diary and read the latest entry. The future-entry from earlier was still there, as was his half-finished present time version.

A game of death...? Finally... Something I'll enjoy...

Marina was sitting on the sofa in front of the TV with Symphonia on her lap, she was going from channel to channel, searching for something interesting to see. Her dad wasn't home, so she had every light out and the curtains were closed, involved in a pitch darkness, with the only thing that stood out were her eyes and Symphonia's camera eyes. She stopped her constant surfing through the TV channels and stopped right on the news program. "So, that shows again that you shouldn't speed through a red light on high speed, because you will get hurt. Back to you in the studio, Hiroshi." She saw the incident and hugged Symphonia even tighter. "That's why we'd rather walk, right, Symphonia?" She says to her teddy bear. "I'd better clean my room and take a bath before dad arrives." She stands up from the sofa she had curled in and turns the TV off with the remote controller. "I also need to prepare lunch." She is still hugging Symphonia as she goes upstairs to her room.

As she opens her room, she crouches to take the little paper that just fell off the door as she opened it. "Dad didn't enter. It's better if he doesn't." She puts Symphonia in the center of her bed and sits in front of the little desk she has in her room. She pulls out the little drawer just below it and takes out of it her pink covered diary. Marina then proceeds to take her necklace in which she has the key to the diary and opens the heart shaped lock. "Let's see in which page I'll write today..." She goes through the pages she has already written and stops in the page in which she should write today. However, it is already filled. "What?" She reads the entry.

April 21st

In school:
Not much happened today. I talked a bit with Riko-chan after class, she even invited me to hang out in the afternoon, but I didn't want Symphonia to get dirty. Should I have gone with her?

In house, 16:14:
After watching TV for a bit and seeing that some guy killed himself after running past a red light, I decide to go upstairs and clean my room. I don't think more will happen today, so I'll be writing this now and a little more after dinner.

In my room, 16:20:
.......

As Marina was about to finish reading the whole entry, she heard a child like giggle. "Huh...?" She turns around and sees a little girl throwing Symphonia into the air in a playful manner, Marina gets totally red as she sees this. She stands up immediately and goes to where the girl is. She takes Symphonia as the girl hurls it into the air. "W-W-What do you think you're doing?" The girl grins as Marina unnerves. "Don't be so worked about it, I'm just here to tell you about the diary." A big smile draws in her face. Firstly, the girl introduces herself as Muru Muru, an assistant to a god, which has given her diary the power to predict the future. "Now I can read the future?" Muru Muru shrugs. "Well, yeah, but you still have just a half-baked explanation of your diary, Fifth. The real explanation will be given by Deus." Muru Muru says and snaps her fingers.

As Muru Muru does so, her whole room changes, transforming into a dome like thing, though that thing didn't last long. She winked and after that, she was already in a circular platform, floating in the air. 'What is this thing?' As she was thinking that, she saw her surroundings, grasping Symphonia even tighter than before. 4 other floating thingies were unoccupied, but soon were, and the skeletal looking guy in the center started his explanation. He was Deus Ex Machina, the one who gave her the ability to see the future, as well as other eleven guys. The objective of it was to make a 'survival game' in which they had to kill each other, and the one last standing would become god. Marina was shocked by this turn of events.

She returns to her bedroom, hugging her teddy bear as strong as her body let her. "I don't want to become god..." She sits on her bed and takes Symphonia between her hands and puts it in front of her, to see it face to face. "But, I also don't want to die. What should we do, Symphonia?" She gets her ear near the bear's mouth and starts nodding as if the bear was actually telling her something. "Uh-huh. Oh, yeah. I see! You're right, Symphonia! If I can win and become god... Maybe I'll be able to bring Mama back! That's why I love you, Symphonia!" She hugs the bear. "You're so intelligent." An evil grin forms in her face. "And no one will ever suspect of a girl holding a teddy bear... I hope."

The blinds had been drawn all day. The stale smell of tobacco filtered out into the apartment building as Gold bid farewell to a young woman whom had spent the night. Her hair was disheveled and she wore the same outfit she had worn the night before, a dress painfully inappropriate for 15:45pm. Gold leaned against the doorway, the young woman pressed her hands against his chest and giggled, "So when will I see you again?" she asked, her eyes twinkling.
"I'll call you."
"But you didn't take my number, silly."
"Ah, right. Hold on a minute, babe." Gold began searching for his mobile. He had no intention of contacting the girl but didn't have the heart to be rude. "Type your number in." The young woman saved her name as Yasuna and left with a skip in her step.

Gold locked the front door to his apartment and then sank into his sofa. He felt lethargic and sore. Sitting on the coffee table lay a magazine which was unusual because Gold didn't read magazines and wouldn't dream of buying a tasteless glossy about celebrity gossip. He picked it up. To his surprise and dismay, he realised the magazine was named "Gold" and was apparently entirely about him. One of the headlines read, "Yasuna tells us all about her night with the man himself!"

"Aaaaaactiooooooon!!" Cried Murumuru. The little imp was disguised as a film director and pointed a video camera directly at Gold. Gold was unresponsive to Murumuru's shenanigans and simply replied,
"Is this trash yours?" Flinging the magazine at her. Murumuru's face became stern,
"I'd be careful with that if I were you! Just saying!"
"What are you doing here? I'm not in the mood to talk today."
"Oh, I'm not here to talk philosophy today."
"Then what?"
"You should put some clothes on." Murumuru said, shading her eyes and pretending to blush. Gold replied by raising his shoulders unenthusiastically. "Then you'll just have go like that, I'm afraid!"

The couch beneath his buttocks vanished, causing Gold to fall to the floor. Up on picking himself up, he realised Murumuru had transported him to Deus' domain along with a hand full of people whom appeared merely as silhouettes. "I've never seen other people here before. What are you up to, Deus?" Gold asked himself. Up on the arrival of the last silhouette Deus explained the predicament Gold had unwittingly entered. Gold laughed, it filled the cavernous room. He blew a kiss to the other contestants and returned to his apartment.

Gold had been in contact with Deus and Murumuru for some time now but never did they reveal what they had in store for him. He found it funny, in a twisted sort of way. He should have figured, history has shown that awful things happen to those who claimed to have contacted God. He picked up his Diary from the floor and began to inspect it properly. The front page had drastically changed. Yasuna's kiss and tell story was no longer the main article, instead it read emboldened, "GOLD FOUND DEAD IN HIS APARTMENT".

Gold began to think, "First I need to learn the nature of this magazine. Yes, it tells the future but how accurately? It seems to be dated tomorrow so from that I can deduce that this magazine only reveals things that will happen today from tomorrow's perspective. Like any magazine, the articles need time to be written and then even more time to be published. In other words, I'll be reported dead tomorrow but killed today." Gold scrambled to his feet. It seemed that the game had begun without even giving him time to digest. "If I'm not in my apartment, I won't be killed." In a display of lightning fast reflexes, Gold dressed himself in a flamboyantly coloured suit and left in a hurry, aiming to check himself into a hotel.

So this was what explained the updates that showed future events. Thus far Reginald's journal had been 100% accurate at all time. He remembered his encounter with the small imp, making herself pass as part of the new recruits. Other than her small size she hadn't been hard to detect since the only english words she spoke had been 'Yes sir.'. He had hesitated to grab her, maybe he was becoming insane and there was no reason to point that to the other soldiers, but when they left his office, he had closed the door before she left. Muremure was her name, servant of Deus, God of Causality. It seemed outlandish, but after his journal began to show future events he had to believe it. And now, a game for godhood. He stared at the edit history of his log entries (The shortest way to find new additions) and raised an eyebrow. Yet another edit, the same source: The University.

There were only a few edits that came out of the predetermined timeline, out of nowhere. Since all was destined to happen it had been logical to determine that only those with diaries could, by knowing the future, change the timeline. It was another invention being announced by a certain 'Akira Nakai', resident super genius. 'Physical demonstration of wireless and radio-less communication through Quantum Entanglement, the possibility of communicating instantly between two points anywhere in the universe.'. Of course he'd have noted that, such a thing would be of invaluable use to the British Armed Forces, any army in fact. Still, this meant that by all likelihood she, or someone close to her that could tip her with how to do these science fiction project, was also a diary user. Well, at least she did some good for humanity with it and didn't kill people. He looked down again, his eyes opened wide.

Popular TV reality show star 'Gold' found dead in his apartment, police investigation for murder.

This had just came in! Reginald quickly looked at the date on the entry and the current date. It was tomorrow. He quickly got up and grabbed his coat and closed his laptop, putting it inside its case. Well, at least since he was chief of security and made the schedules, he could take time off when he wanted. Still, as he walked downstairs to his car he considered this. Most likely someone with a diary was after Gold, if Gold himself had a diary however was to be determined. He quickly considered the fact that even if he tried to protect a diary user, he might just kill him in return... no, he couldn't think like that, until proven otherwise Gold was innocent and had to be defended like any other person.
Hishida Phone Service. There were many other phone companies of course, but really they all used the network coverage Hishida provided, building phone towers was an expensive thing, and this worked in her favor. As she was waiting in the lobby, she was called and headed to an elevator that quickly got up to the last floors, management level. She made her way through offices to the largest, the CEO. "Ah, miss Nakai! You caught me off guard a bit with this phone call, I didn't expect you to respond to our last offer." Akira politely bowed and sat as the CEO was indicating a chair in front of his desk.

"I'm afraid I didn't come here seeking employment, but rather to make an offer of possible collaboration with the university and myself." The man raised his eyebrow, intrigued.

"Oh? And what might that be?" Akira presented to him a small folder she had assembled quickly and continued.

"The department of sociology has developed an idea of a program to track the people's movement to study their life habits, see if people going to bars for example also tend to exercise and the likes, which could prove valuable data about the life of the modern Japanese population to be modeled for the healthcare program and so forth." The man looked at the data quickly, most of it being gibberish for him really.

"That's good and all that, but there are a few things that complicate this. First, the privacy policy, second, why couldn't the sociology student come here themselves? Or better yet, get a sample of people and convince them to download this tracker themselves and third... what would this company gain from this?" All questions she had expected. The man closed the folder and began to star at Akira.

"Well sir, the fact that you know by my name if why they asked me to come here, since they feared anyone else, too unknown, wouldn't be able to meet you. Privacy is also why they wanted to use your resources. You see, if people are aware of the tracker, knowing they are observed could get them to do things they normally would not or not do things they would, making the study worthless. As for why you should do this, well." Akira faked hesitation.

"Well, the data would also be available to you and thus, knowing what population goes where would make good material for specific add targeting and since it is for a scientific study, it wouldn't be privacy invasion. Plus, this would allow me to know of your way of operating, thus making my integration easier if I should work with your company and also, if the government should make a contract to use the tracker for things like census or health evaluation of the population, you, as the company already knowledgeable of this process, would get the contract."

The boss man smiled and nodded his head. No risk, possible profits and no real expenses either. "I do think we have a deal miss Nakai, you and your associates will get access to our network and I will inform IT of it. I do hope it is the start of a long and profitable relationship."

Akira got up, bowed and left. As she went down the elevator she smirked. It was true sociology would use this for their projects, but she would run her own software above their own, to find the habits of people, their routine, and above all, discrepancies in those, signs of unplanned events or decisions, things that could be triggered by knowing the future. Not taking the train like usual just when the train is late was a good example, abnormal luck.
Reginald arrived to the apartment building. A luxurious thing fit for a star of the man's caliber no doubt about it. He entered and walked to the counter where a man was. He was alone in the lobby except for him and 3 other men in suits. Security agents visibly, you couldn't just walk in and go to Gold's room. "Good day sir, I wish to speak with Mister Gold. The man looked up from his paper and smiled.

"I'm sorry sir, but mister Gold specifically wished to not be bothered by visitors." Of course it couldn't be this easy, he was a star after all. Well, time to put this Oxford Comedy skill to use.

"Yes, I expected you to say that, anything other would have been surprising. Look, I came here during the weekend, invited by the man, to organize a soiree between the British Ambassador and the Japanese Minister of Foreign affair, don't ask me why he'd be there, the minister and ambassador have particular tastes in entertainment. I have the number of his manager and he doesn't answer it, it's urgent. Could you perhaps call him and tell him of me? If he refuses to answer there will be no wrong now will it?"

The secretary looked at the guards. He had guessed right, he wasn't working on the weekends so he didn't know if anyone indeed had come. "...No wrong, I guess."

He composed the number and waited a bit. No answer. "Mister Gold doesn't seem to be present at the moment, he must have left."

"Well, you must have his private number then? In case you needed to contact him, of course." The secretary looked hesitant. Reginald cut him before he could even speak.

"You are composing the number, it's not like I steal it." With hesitation the man got a binder from his desk and looked through it before looking up. "Who should I say called?"

Reginald gave a polite smile. "Just say it's 'A player from Deus's game'. He'll understand." Or maybe not, still, it was a good way to know if Gold was indeed a player, not full proof but better than nothing.

The secretary handed him the phone. "Mister Gold wishes to speak with you." Jackpot. Reginald took the phone and went to sit in a corner where no one could hear him.

"Good day mister Gold, I'll spare you the details until we can met in person, should you feel confident in my intentions and me in yours of course, but I'll be brief. Recently I believe you entered a 'Dead End', as Deus called it. My Diary says that you will die tomorrow and I believe that whatever the power you have is, it also told you the same since you aren't in your hotel room, at the crime scene. I do not know the details of your death but it didn't vanish with you just moving away so you are being tracked still..."

Reginald opened his briefcase and the screen of the computer, making it come out of sleep mode. His eyes widened and his voice came to a whisper. "Gold. Check your Diary. If you are at the Honchu Plaza Hotel, get out of there!"

Popular TV reality show star GOLD dies from a fall atop the Honchu Plaza Hotel, police is investigating the cause of death.

Akira walked in the gunshop. Handguns, swords and whatnot. Hard to find, small, quiet. She walked to the counter without stoping to look at anything. She knew nothing of guns so she'd ask someone who knew better. "I need a handgun for protection. Small, concealable, easy to use, a revolver, if possible."

Chidori was currently in the back of the gunshop she owned, checking her diary for anything that concerned her and anything she really took to notice. Nothing that interesting was there. At least to her, anyway. Chidori closed her diary and went to the front desk after hearing someone asking for a revolver or something similar. "A revolver? I'll see what we've got..." She replied to the girl before going in the back again and checking through the revolvers that were relatively small. After a while, Chidori returned to the front desk with a 38 snub nose revolver. Easy to fit in the pocket and relatively easy to use, a perfect match. "Will this do?" She asked, "A revolver that's easy to use and fits in the pocket well, plus it's in good condition..."

The Cathedral of Causality faded away, along with the silhouettes of eleven other figures, each with varying shapes and sizes. When all had been restored, Youta lay on his bed with his limbs outstretched. Lifting his arm to his face, he noticed he was holding his phone. It was an ordinary iPhone, apart from the strange microphone connected to the top.

"This has to be a joke..." he muttered to himself. He sat up and called out, "Muru muru, this has be be some kind of joke, right?" Just then, his phone made a loud noise, like static from a poorly adjusted TV antenna. "What the...?" A new sound file had appeared in his samples folder, titled [Car Siren]. Youta selected it, and a waveform appeared on his screen along with a caption. "I was sitting in my room when I heard a loud car siren outside. I decided to sample it for a new song I'm working on" he read aloud to himself. The playback bar scrolled through the waveform, playing a loud siren. "But I didn't record this!"

Just then a boisterous alarm sounded through his neighborhood. Right outside across the street, his neighbor had accidentally set off his car's security alarm by attempting to open the door before unlocking it. The sound matched Youta's phone exactly. "I don't believe it..." At the realization that this game was reality, Youta began to breathe heavily and sweat. "This is actually happening. I'm going do die."

He stood up and began to pace his room. "Where do I even begin? I have no idea who those people were, and even if I were to find one would I be able to kill them just like that? Even if my own life was in danger, how would I handle that?" He sat at his desk and buried his head in his hands. "Why is this happening...?" After a few minutes he sat on his bed, studying the entries that flooded his phone. "If I want to live, I should learn the limitations of my diary. Let's see what I've recorded in the future."

Yuuka was busy stalking people in the forums and sending them scary videos and as seen through the chatline, everybody got a rageful reaction, she totally enjoyed hearing those reaction, spreading it throughout the internet shafou was so fun on many levels. Living alone has never been this awesome, if anything Yuuka doesn't get bored on acting out her daily routine but it can be lonely at the same time, Yuuka is not bothered about it. She heard a doorbell and assumed it was her new phone that is being delivered now, Yuuka smiled in excitement, she quickly open the door and get her new phone.

First, she starts charging it in her computer then implanting the sim card, jotting down the rest of her contacts in when suddenly she received a message, it was a guy titled as Deus Ex Machina the so called guy or girl she's been chatting with lately, Yuuka opens the diary application and jot what happened today.

April 21st/Yuuka

Well, I just took stalking into a whole new level, I have to change IP Addresses in order not to get caught but the latter will be my best prank of all time, I'm gonna meet this person and demonstrate it.

Yuuka received a message regarding her prank and it was a video then at the end of the video was an entry.

Deus Ex Machina
Wow seems like 'you've done it', that person you're meeting got punched in the nuts by a boxing glove, in the video there was someone seem similar looking to Yuuka but that's not really her rather a look alike.

That was the prank I wanna try, don't tell you're the one behind it. Yuuka thought.

Just after Yuuka finished reading the entry, she realized she's holding a different phone while her latest phone was gone out of nowhere, she heard a feminine voice, babbling about things she doesn't understand like she can now predict the future and decide what to do with it and so on, now that she can track and taking stalking to a whole new level. Her latest phone appeared in her hand once again as her room change drastically on some nutshell magician trick done by Muru Muru meanwhile Yuuka grab a mask and wears it as she was shy. The girl introduced herself as Muru Muru, the messenger of God.

Deus will explain the rest Muru Muru said.

Deus explained something about a survival game, that's what Yuuka heard and the latter was about becoming God, Yuuka thought about it and it seems to have piqued her interest, grinning in confidence that it's easy to win because of her stalking and tracking skills. During that meeting there was 11 shadow figures which are the other players of this game and it was very hard to guess about their identity but she did notice something catchy.

After the meeting,Yuuka lay down on her bed, thinking on what to do next all she could ever say was, "This will be the most interesting thing that will happen in my life, I won't let anyone get in my way!." Her dog phone's ringtone started barking which Yuuka interpret as the step to this new beginning.

Kenji sat in his home, bored out, but very relaxed while watching a random show on his television. His confusion about the Survival Game, Deus and his Future Diary was all gone, and almost even forgotten. He didn't care at all. How could someone even reach him, if someone was to attack him then he would easily avoid it by checking his diary. Talking about his diary, the red light on the camera was flickering, so that must mean that another prediction must have arrived on it.

He reached over to his camera and looked at the video. It was an entry for tomorrow, he was at an apartment in the city. He headed inside of the room where the murder had taken place. He saw a body laying on the ground and recognized him as the 'celebrity' Gold. He sighed, yet another person killed in this city. It was no surprise however, there were probably many people who held some kind of grudge against him.

However Kenji was going to be there tomorrow already, so no need to investigate things there now. That is a job for the police, he just had to report what happens afterwards. Suddenly the light on his camera glowed green and a new entry appeared. This time is showed Kenji at the Honchu Plaza Hotel, one of the more expensive hotels in the city. The video showed that he was heading towards the area where the swimming pool of the hotel was. On the ground there was laying a dead body, which again was Gold. This probably was one of those changes the diary made. He was indeed interested in it. But for his own sake he would go there tomorrow when he needed to be there. He already got much info from just this diary entry to make a proper report tomorrow.

As soon as Hikaru returned to his room, he examined his book. Muru Muru had not returned with him after the announcement of the survival game in that blank void, so many thoughts were racing through his head, who were those other people? Why him? Why now? He had never put thought into whether or not a god of any kind existed to begin with, but the diary before him accurately predicted the death of the car accident victim, just as Deus said. In spite of the personal visit from that little girl, and the soon-to-be introduction to at least some of the other "players," assuming he doesn't die right away, Hikaru still felt alone. He had nobody to go to about it, those silhouettes could have been anyone, and revealing his diary to anyone could mean death. His mind raced as he paced his room and reread the future entry. Then, something happened, a new entry began to conjure itself right before his very eyes. Quickly, letter by letter, the entry spelled itself out in his own hand-writing before him.

Gold, 21st/April/2006, 17:14

Gold? What kind of name is that...? 17:14?

Hikaru glanced to the cable-box that rested above his television. 16:53pm it read. He reached for his pen to mark the page, but he froze again when a second entry came into existence.

Gold, 21st/April/2006, 17:45

It changed!? How? Is 'Gold' another player?

He donned his shoes and jacket as quickly as possible and rushed out the door. If there was going to be other "players" interacting, he needed to see it.

"Let's see what I've recorded in the future".

As Youta checked his phone, several entries appeared. Listening to them one by one, none of them seemed to be relevant to the game; that is to say, the were just simple recordings of arbitrary sounds he'd normally record. Finally, an entry from tomorrow appeared titled [Gold is Dead].

Gold? As in the celebrity?

He played back the file. It was a recording of his television set, and the voice of a man.

["Hello, it's 9 AM on April 22nd and I'm Shin Yamanaka from channel six news. Today's top story: Japanese pop sensation Gold was found dead in his apartment last night. Sources have confirmed that this is the scene of a murder, and the suspect is still on the loose".]

"Gold is going to die tonight? My sister's gonna be upset, she loves watching his shows... maybe I should find out his home number and warn him. After all, I may as well use my new phone to help someone."
Just as he moved his thumb to bring up the phone function, the sampling mic emitted a short burst of feedback, hurting Youta's ears. "OW! What the hell?!" he cried as he covered his ears with his eyes closed. Upon opening them, he discovered that the sample he had just listened to had a different playback time. Youta picked up the phone and played the same file again.

["Hello, it's 9 AM on April 22nd and I'm Shin Yamanaka from channel six news. Today's top story: Japanese pop sensation Gold was found dead outside the Honchu Plaza Hotel in downtown Sakurami City last night. It is believed that he fell from one of the upper floor balconies, although whether or not his death was an accident, murder, or suicide is still under investigation".]

Wait, did the future change just now? Don't tell me Gold is involved in this somehow? ...Either way, I have to find out or I'll never discover the other players!

Youta threw his black hooded sweater on and pulled the drawstrings on his hood out all the way, to cover his face. Then he grabbed his keys and ran out the door, toward the Honchu Plaza Hotel.

Marina took a relaxing bath before anything else and went downstairs, diary in hand, to prepare the dinner. "Okay, now how does this thing work? Deus did said this not only says our future, but it also holds it... Meaning, this book is burned or torn apart and I'm as good as dead." Marina started passing the pages to see the entries for tomorrow. Something got her attention.

...........
April 22nd
It was announced on TV that Gold, the super famous pop star was found dead in his apartment.

Gold was killed, huh? Marina wondered what should she do. Either not pay it any attention and let things happen or try to find Gold and warn him about this. "What do you say, Symphonia?" Once again, she puts her ear near the mouth of the bear and makes as if it was talking to her. However, before she could reach a conclusion, she noticed something changed on her diary. "What?"

April 22nd
It was announced on the TV that Gold, the super famous pop star was found dead in front of the Honchu Plaza Hotel. He apparently threw himself from the balcony.

"It changed!" She looks at her diary, dumbfounded. She thinks about it for a bit. "Well, this can mean two things... Either Gold is a diary holder or his killer is, or both are, since future can only be changed by those who see it." She starts checking her diary again. "I can either go to the Honchu Plaza and confirm it myself, or I can wait to see what happens. Thinking about it, it is most probably that more than one diary holder has already noticed the change and is also on his way to confirm it... I'd be at a disadvantage." She finishes the stew she was preparing and serves it in a plate, along with some tea and leaves it on the table. She puts a little note saying 'I need to go to Riko-chan's house, I think I'll be late today, don't wait for me.' She grabs Symphonia, her diary, her little purple purse and a piece of paper from another notebook. She writes down in it the latest 5 entries and glues it to the center of her hand. "I'll only go check things out, but I can't let other people know that I also hold a diary. Though this isn't absolute, I can still guide myself with it." Another quick check to her diary, she notices the entries changed now that she decided to head out. "No dead end notice yet." She puts her diary inside her purse and heads out, to Honchu Plaza Hotel.

She arrived shortly after and decided to stay in a cafe to see things play out. The paper in her hand says that at 17:45, Gold will fall from the balcony. She puts Symphonia in the chair in front of her, so it can have a clear sight of the Honchu Hotel. "Let's see what happens now, Symphonia." She smiles at her teddy bear and takes a sip of the tea she ordered a while before. Time is short, at any minute now, Gold should fall from that balcony.
