Plot

The Survival Game is the Battle Royale tournament hosted by Deus Ex Machina in order to choose his successor as the God of Time and Space. Twelve individuals were selected as participants. Deus initiates the game on April, 2006. Each of the candidates are given Future Diaries to use them to predict their futures. The last man standing will become Deus' successor. The others must be killed or their diaries must be destroyed to eliminate them from the tournament. Deus acts as the judge, with his assistant Muru Muru handing out the diaries and acting as his secondary judge. Two Survival Games already have been fought, and a third world has been created, a world in which the game wouldn't take place.

Because of this third world, an alternate dimension was created. World Beta. Unlike World Alpha, in this world Deus and John Bacchus never made contact with each other. Instead Deus managed to create the game all by himself. Again Muru Muru was tasked in finding the troubled people who held a diary and give them a Future Diary. The Survival Game will start when everyone has received their diary, and is called to the Cathedral of Causality.

Rules

---

• All diaries predict the future in different ways.


• Each owner is assigned a number from one to twelve and are referred to by their titles (e.g. "First"). Until their true identities are discovered through the diaries, the owners are referred to by their titles.


• The futures of the diaries are not set in stone. If a diary owner or another person does an action that contradicts the entries on the diaries, then the future will change accordingly.


• The diaries literally carry a person's future. If they are broken, then the diary owner will be erased through existence and removed from the game.


• No diary owners are allowed to quit or retire from the game, although giving the diary temporarily to a third party is acceptable.


• The game will officially end when only one diary owner is left alive. The winner shall become God.


• Deus and Muru Muru must not interfere with the actions of the game.


• No Godmodding, only Deus can do that. And no one will receive magical powers, unless it fits into the story.


• No canon characters appear in the RP, except for Deus and Muru Muru.


• Teaming up and discussion plans in PM's is allowed. (You may message me about it if you think it is necessary)

Really brief history: Though she looks like an average school girl at first side, Tomoki can be considered a sort of 'otaku'. She's crazy about achievements and completing 'missions'. These do not necessarily refer to games as Tomoki has been quite successful in both academics and sports as well. Once she decides to take up a challenge, she goes all out. However, she knows her limits and will not take on ridiculous 'missions' or goals as well as being able to 'fail' missions. Though she gets quite upset whenever she does. A single child, born into a middle-class family, Tomoki has pretty basic relationships with her parents; she loves them and they love her. Her hometown was in Kyoto but she has since moved to Sakurami City to study. Her parents approved as she was doing so on a scholarship. She currently lives alone in a studio apartment.

Diary Appearance: A plain black iPhone 5. The diary appears as a 'Mission Diary' app.
Diary Ability: Tomoki’s iPhone 5 diary has now become the future diary known as the ‘Mission Diary’. The Mission Diary predicts the future relating to Tomoki’s current mission. They provide short summaries of her actions so long as they are related to her mission. There is no minimum or maximum time gap between entries. Entries predict the future for any significant events. She can opt to fail a mission, in which case she can obtain a new one among 3 choices. A sample of of the diary;

Since there is no CS skeleton, I decided to make one myself. Feel free to use it as a model or make your own. I added random stuff like school in afterall. To anyone who wants to make a character that knows Tomoki, feel free to do so! I also decided to make the main location of the event in Tokyo. No problemo, right guys?

Personality: Always calm, rational and collected, Akira tends to value statistical probabilities above all and prefers to deal with things from a distance and with time to consider all angles, in situations where she is rushed she tend to lack the time needed to take good decision and leans heavily on her diary in those cases. Morally, she calls herself a 'Relativist' and sees only the cost vs the gains without much of the broader emotional impacts of what she may do, 'Evil and good being only opinions' if you ask her.

History: Far from terrible and sad, Akira's history is that of a nerdy middle class girl. To put it bluntly, she was a genius capable of understanding the most complex of theoretical science at 12 and publishing in scientific journals at 15, she then quickly made her way through university and had some fame a few years back as Japan's Brightest, participating to science quiz shows and the likes, although it's behind her now. She was hired at the university she studied in to work on the applications of Quantum mechanics which she has been diligently doing for a few years. She began to converse with Deus about the 'why?' of her work and in general, the why of everything in life. She had the 'how' figured out, or at least could figure it out easily, but always struggled to see the greater impact of science and try and decide which way she should steer her work. She works toward becoming a god believing the status of godhood would allow her to have greater perspective in this: Why? Why existence, the purpose of it, etc. "I never was good at philosophy, perhaps cheating by becoming Omnicient is just what I need."

Diary Name: The Scientific Insight
Diary Appearance: The diary is one of Akira's creation, a functional Quantum computer of enormous computing power. This fact however she hopes no one will ever know, since this computer is too large to be held or even moved without significant amount of machines, and that is if the university would even let it leave its ground. Thankfully, its existence is quite a secret outside of the university and Akira is able to network it with her cell phone and laptop as long as she has wifi, both she carries at all time to confuse the others about which are her diary, if neither are in truth.

Diary Ability: Her diary is a journal of her scientific project and tell all that is going to happen to the project while also telling her how to complete said project. It comes with a main text, notes, diagrams, images and abbreviations which others could find confusing to read if they are unused to it. Some things to consider however.
+By making the project of 'Bomb diffusing' for example, it will allow her to determine how to defuse a bomb easily since the diary works as if the subject of the project was studied carefully for all the time needed by Akira in a controlled lab environment.
+This of course allows her to build anything in the realm of possible with record time and with the easiest possible available resources. The more complex the equipment the more time consuming actually getting what to make it can be: Building a bomb would be quite easily doable with things found around a home, building a functional railgun or space plane could give instructions that might not be doable at the time.
-This is of course limited by the physical feasibility of the project, if it's something that she, even with all the time in the world, couldn't figure out, then it will simply state that she failed to end the project and it will end.
+This allows her to watch over a physical item in some case, if the project is 'Find a way to destroy a building', the project will tell her that her efforts are side tracked at a certain location due to the presence of something or someone.
-The diary only tells about the project itself, although it can provide some insights about what may happen to her directly it will generally be vague. 'I, team project leader Akira Nakai was killed as I entered the hall to place the first explosives to a strategic location, the project was thus terminated.' Since who killed her in what way doesn't influence the progression of the project these 'Useless details' are left out.
-To 'Kill someone' or to 'Discover who is someone' doesn't enter a possible project since these are not the creation or manipulation of a physical object. Akira can decide to add 'Bug the computer of subject X', but it will not tell her if the subject ever becomes aware of her bugging of the computer or find her the information she'd find afterward without actually having to plant the bug. Likewise to project to destroy a building only plans to destroy a building, if someone inside dies or does not die doesn't factor in the success or failure of blowing the building.
-The diary is only active for as long as the project is and like stated earlier will only mention the state of the project. Once the project is completed she doesn't have anymore insight on the project itself.
+Projects can include 'Leaping from point A to point B', the form it will take is stating the most secure way to achieve it.
-This doesn't factor in detection. As such, if someone is aware of her diary abilities he can just decide to point a gun on her, let her accomplish her task, and then execute her. Since there was no intention to kill her before the project is over and thus make an entry stating that the project fails, the diary will be none the wiser.

Personality:
In spite of his personal name meaning "light" and "radiance," Hikaru is primarily introverted and dark-mannered. He is relatively intelligent, more so than he would claim. His pessimistic view on just about everything has left him little in the way of companions. He is obsessed with the idea of death, and keeps a notebook in which he notates the times of people's deaths, be it heard on the news or by word-of-mouth. He almost never speaks.

History: If asked about it, Hikaru couldn't explain why he acts negatively. He has no dark and secret past to speak of, just a normal life, in a normal house, with normal parents. But for as long as he could remember, he had always been depressed. It used to severely bother him, and he would actively strive to "cure" his depression. But after years of failure, he ended up giving up, "submitting to the darkness." Presently he is in his 2nd year of college, although he has no true idea for what fields of study or careers he wants to pursue.

None, Hikaru is a full-time college student.

The Dread Diary
A pocket sized notebook. It's made of black featureless leather and upon ascension into a Future Diary, now contains an infinite number of pages. A thin black felt bookmark is sewn to the spine. Hikaru keeps a pen between the page of the most recent entry whenever he is not writing in it, this pen does not count as part of the Future Diary. Removing individual pages or pieces of pages will not destroy the diary, as the diary will still be able to function as a proper book.

The Dread Diary displays the names of the deceased as a prediction of their death, along with the time and date of death. The manner of death is never displayed, nor the names of any other people, places, or objects associated with the death. The Dread Diary can only predict and display the names of people that Hikaru knows (or will know before or shortly after their death) the name of. All future entries of The Dread Diary appear in Hikaru's handwriting.

Mine Character

Name: Marina Kurahashi
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Title: V (Fifth)

Appearance: Quite tall, standing at 1.85 m, with a slender build. She has white hair and red eyes.

Personality: She is a quiet and timid girl with a kind demeanor, but very childish. She is often seen carrying around a teddy bear with a single musical note on its belly. Fond to each one of her stuffed animals, since she likes interacting with them more than she likes to interact with actual living things, however, should any harm come to her stuffed animals, her personality will have a drastic change, she'll change from a kind and childish girl to a sulking philosopher, often trying to get excuses for committing suicide. This will not change until her stuffed animal is repaired or replaced by one that looks alike. Quite protective of those she cares about and holds dear and what she holds the dearest is her favorite teddy bear, named Symphonia. Should any harm come to it, Marina won't ever forgive whoever did it, even going as far as to kill them.

History: Marina was a very happy and energetic girl when she was little, however, after her mother died, she became the quiet girl she is now. In an effort to help his daughter, Marina’s father tried to cheer her up by giving her a custom made teddy bear, with a single musical note on it’s belly, as her mother used to play the piano. Marina, while her personality had a drastic change, which never went back, she was now happier with her teddy bear, which she named Symphonia. She carried it everywhere, and she continues to do so. However, in junior high school, one day, her teddy bear was painted all over, which made her mad, but she wasn’t able to find the culprit. As a countermeasure for this, she got her dad to install a pair of cameras in Symphonia’s eyes under the excuse that she wanted Symphonia to see her just as she did. After complying to such an strange request, Marina set her teddy bear and waited for the culprits to appear. At the end of the day, she would write in her diary what Symphonia recorded with its eyes. She was eventually able to catch the culprits, as they did it a second time. This time, however, they didn’t get away with it. Marina, with the aid of a bat, left some serious injuries on them. After having completed her revenge, she continued to use Symphonia’s cameras to observe what happened through the day and lastly, write it in her diary.

Diary Appearance: A little notebook with a pink cover, it has a heart shaped lock to prevent anyone but her to open it.
Diary Ability: The diary records what the cameras on Marina’s teddy bear should see through the day. It records every single action of the people that appear on the video, along with their names if Marina knows them, if not, it describes the person entirely, along with what they were wearing.
