Elaine Pender

Elaine was surprised that Lilly had asked her if she could go shopping with her, but she could never decline the opportunity to make new friends. She didn't know too many people in New York apart from her colleagues at work, and it would be good to know some people front he apartment block. Perhaps she could host a dinner party one day? Elaine decided that it would be good for her to do the shopping with Lilly, after all, she was her next door neighbour, who better than her to become friends with?

"Of course not, it would be lovely to go with you!" she told Lilly.

"Yeah, nice weather, I guess," Niu sighed. The weather. The fucking weather. What was this guy thinking? Starting a conversation about the weather.
"Who are you, anyways?" Niu asked. She could feel the other personalities trying to get hold of the body. But Niu wasn't about to relinquish it, especially since she had just made human contact.

Lillian Vereen

Lilly grinned at the reply, heading towards Elaine as she explained, "Lemme rush in real quick for my wallet," before running past her. Upon entering her room, she rested her mug beside other unclean mugs, making a mental note to clean those up before she slipped out of her slippers and into shoes.
As she started out the door, she grabbed a scarf, wrapping it around her neck as the door clicked shut behind her, the girl not bothering to lock it. What were they gonna steal-- her dirty coffee mugs? Pffft- besides, coined as the Oddball Apartments, Lilly doubted anyone would actually bother robbing the place.

"Sorry for the wait!" chipped the girl enthusiastically as she bounded beside the French woman, unable to help but admire her curls close up. She'd never talked to Elaine before, much less looked at her up close, and the tall woman was everything Lilly wanted in a woman. "I can't believe we've been neighbors for forever," started Lilly as they continued down the hall, "And this is the first time I've went out with you, hehe."

Elaine began to walk with Lilly. "I know! I've been living here for a year, and we've never so much as talked!" Elaine said to Lily, "I guess it must be because of how Frankie and Will are because of the accident."
Elaine sighed, "So, do you know any good shops around here?" she asked, "I always go to the same ones."

Kei felt a bit left out today. Everyone in her new apartment building sounded so lively. She wondered if maybe she should try and be social as well. It couldn't hurt could it? Although, she really had nothing to talk to them about. Kei was just an unemployed artist with an otaku obsession. She didn't feel especially tired today and she would have to talk to her neighbors eventually.

Kei went back into her apartment from her balcony. She felt her stomach rumble slightly and remembered that she hadn't eaten since late last night. It was a common problem for Kei, it wasn't that she had lost her appetite but she spent so much time painting, playing games, reading manga, or watching anime that she just lost track of time. Her narcolepsy didn't help that either. Contrary to what people might think she actually didn't sleep that well. During the day she would have sleep episodes where she would fall asleep anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Although, at night falling asleep wasn't hard at all but staying asleep was always a losing battle.

During her thoughts she found herself in the kitchen looking for food, only to realize that she hadn't actually gone shopping and the only thing left in her kitchen were sauces and spices. She could have sworn that she went shopping yesterday but it was entirely possible that she had dreamed the whole thing. She was already dressed so she put her tablet down, grabbed her purse, and headed out the door. By the time she got to the entrance of the apartment complex she almost ran directly into two women who were apparently also about to go shopping, the tall woman sounded french and the other one must have been american. Kei hadn't been paying much attention to where she was going so she had walked up to them before she realized what she was doing. Well there she was standing in front of two strangers. What was she supposed to say? She might should say something relevant to the conversation right? "I know a place that is doing a sale on produce today." Good, mission complete! Kei stood there for a second before she realized she should have introduced herself first. "I'm Aramaki Kei, I mean Kei Aramaki. Eh... You can call me Kei, I guess." She gave a bow as well out of habit. Even though she knew that most americans do a handshake she always thought it was a weird gesture.

Anthony couldn't help but smile. He had to admit he hadn't expected Daniel to actually head off towards the mail with him. It was rather pleasant actually, and it was helpful to fighting off the fear he felt trying crash down upon him. Or, at least it had until he let himself dwell on it for a moment. Now his muscles were beginning to tense up and he could feel his blood began to race through his veins.

As Anthony and Daniel approached the front, Anthony caught a glance of Vale and the new tenant, the one with all the animals. However, he didn't linger to watch their interaction, he had to stay on goal; collect mail, get back to apartment, calm down, finish work, and then finally sleep. Not even aware if Daniel was still accompanying him or not, he made it to hos mail and quickly retrieved it. Turning around, Anthony set back to his apartment, with what felt like the world itself bearing down on him. Mouthing to himself as he went a small wish of sorts one he said quite a bit. If only the world was a smaller place, then it wouldn't be so heavy and crippling.

"Shit."

Tanner's eyes opened and the blonde was immediately disappointed in what she saw. She had only nodded off for a few moments, it was hard not to when placing oneself in a state of pure relaxation, though clearly the other tenants cared little mind, from the sound of barking animals to footsteps on the stairs and idle conversations. The so-called Oddballs were going about their routine. And there was Tanner, flat on her back, grass stains no doubt sticking to her back. She didn't know how much time had passed, only that it was far too little and that she had had enough of lounging outside. That might send the wrong impression, that she was free to mingle and make nice with the others.

Making nice involved questions.

Tanner did not want to answer any questions apart from "Pickup or delivery?" when she ordered take out.

Why had she come out here in the first place? As she stood up, brushing blades of grass from her clothing she thought back. Right. The mail. She was concerned about the mail, specifically her mail. But there were too many people out and about, too many possibilities for people to see her mail, to see the manilla envelope that was supposed to arrive today.

"Shit," Tanner said again, kicking at the grass. "Shit shit shit."

She would wait. Of course she would. They would be on their way eventually, and then no harm done. Tanner, keeping her head pointed downwards, began walking back towards her wing of the floor. The last thing she wanted to do was make eye contact with anyone. Maybe if she hurried she could make it to her apartment without anyone stopping her.
