[OOC] Arena Chat Thread

So, in an effort to get better myself, and to help others improve; do you guys have any advice for me, or anyone else, on how to improve their arena prowess and the like?

I know my biggest issue is staying focused and looking at all angles of attack, instead of going the straight forward route during battles. Another is attention to detail. It has the devil in it, ya know?

Also, I'll probably start the Supercard later tonight, or tomorrow.

The only confirmed match is Alphonse vs Skallagrim; but DJAtomika and Vordak are both confirmed for the card as well.

As stated before, I'm gonna see if I can get mod backing on it, perhaps in the form of an interview on the news thing closer to the time.

@Rilla Try to, like, watch more videos of the styles of warriors you might fight. Knife fighters, swordsmen, staff fighters, even exotic weapons like hookblades, chain flails, bows and whatnot. Even hand to hand, just watch loads and loads of videos of many different styles. It'll help with the detail aspect cus you'll be adding lots of moves to your visual and textual library, so you'll know what's coming when you fight someone.

I would, but we fight so much. xD. For as long as I've been on Guild, I don't think I've fought anyone as much as I've fought you. xD

I'm open for another ranked fight. I may do the thing I planned with Alphonse tomorrow.

An open challenge, where whoever posts first gets to fight Alphonse, in whatever setting I pick. Really, all I need is a judge. I'm going to make it detailed, view all the angles and whatnot.

You'll need to. Not to be arrogant but our fight, I won't be holding back. Every trick and tactic I know will be on the table.

Yeah, I'd second what Dj said about watching a tonne of real life spars using different weapons and fighting styles.

If I remember correctly, I don't think we actual set up anything, did we? i asked if he could handle explosions, then you and Scion started to talk.

Can't remember, probably not, though I had asked for a fight and you said you'd be up for it when you had less ranked matches, you just finished two didn't you?

oooohhhh I'd watch a fight between Alphonse and one of Melon's characters, it may prove insightful. I think you should do it!

You can fight one of my other characters if the Clockwork Man is too badass for ya, he is pretty badass.

None of my characters stand up well to guns. Hahaha.

The Clockwork Man's gun is pretty limited to be more balanced, but I understand why you wouldn't want to fight a gun with a swordsman regardless.

I actually don't have any good matches for Alphonse really, at least none that spring immediately to mind.

Unless you want to try that open challenge idea so I can use Daeh Nolem and turn him into a 2d version of himself and force him to fight like its an arcade game.
