Yes, various maps have there place, but for an official ranked tournament I'm going to continually advocating consistency among the maps. ^.^

Aye. then whoever is gonna host it will set the maps, and other particulars foe it.

But we had until May to decide who will and whatnot.

There are times I think when using a simple map, one left to the imagination, naturally occurring defenses should he prepped, for lack of a better word. Mentioned in a previous post, perhaps prior to its usage, so that whatever is used doesn't just seem to spring out of nowhere in the Nick of time.

If we were basing it off of Lord of the Rings you could claim a random giant eagle was around the area and scoop you to safety!

We could do a Way of the Warrior and Nexus of Worlds tournament. Both were successful in the old Guild.

@Innue you can host it then. You get to pick virtually everything about it. So long as it happens in May.

@Altered Tundra my girlfriend hates ERB. Hahaha. My favorite is Zeus vs Thor, but lyrically I think Poe vs King was best.

@Skallagrim the only appropriate way to handle the situation. Hahahah.

I agree with the consistency, but I say for the first tournament it should be more simple to be welcoming to new fighters, then the detail can be amped up for later tournaments.

The only tournament that I think should ALWAYS be straight forward is the final tournament of the year. Which should be worth more points, as it could rightfully be considered the Wrestlemania/Super Bowl of the Arena here.

@Rilla
REally? The poe and king one? Idk, personally for me, I think the best lyrically would Miley Cyrus vs Joan of Arc. But I would be lying if I didn't say that the Goku Vs Superman is my favorite. The Adolf Hitler and Darth Vader ones are good too. First one of that battle was best, though.

Cyrus vs Arc was good. But my top three were Poe vs King, Lance vs Ruth, and Zeus vs Thor. Woman wise, Cleopatra vs Marilyn was a killer. The Hitler vs Vader ones progressively lost steam. The first was epic though.

Mine is pretty simple. The problem I see making it barren is you limit the tactics without forcing someone into creation magic to create their own cover. I want to allow those with a wide range of abilities to feel like they have something in the terrain that can help them.

It's simple in its design and theme, but just the fact that its a map brings in so many more elements to consider like I mentioned previously which could intimidate me in a tournament and I consider myself a low to mid intermediate. So I do worry that a more introductory/rookie-ish RP-er might struggle to get involved. I'm only saying this as someone trying to consider welcoming as many people as possible. In principle it is a more structured and interesting system, but quite a scary one too!

Also just to add, when it comes to 'hiding behind conveniently placed rocks' Ive always battled with a small bit of 'enviromental prep' which basically deals with that. I can't hide behind a rock, unless I clearly stated within the previous post that I was near some rocks to begin with.

I'm not sure if you saw this, but Watchmojo.com runs a countdown series called "TopX", which is counting down the top ten things of youtube ranging from various subjects. Anyways, this video specifically catered to the Epic Rap Battles of History and what they thought the top ten ones were. Thought you'd be interested to watch and see if any of your favs made the cut.

Tonight. I'll set to working on writing up the challenge thread itself.

The OOC for general chat about it.

The IC will be used to document each fight, primarily including participants, including the judge, a link to the fight, any wagers, arena, and that should be if.

The CS can be more or less for open challenges, preferably one fight per post, but that's not required.

Eventually I wanna see if Mahz can add in a Ranked tag, but until then I'm thinking.just add "Ranked" to the title of each fight. Such as "[Ranked] Skallagrim vs Innue"
