@MelonHead

He doesn't have all that equipment and abilities at once. I mention it in the synopsis, but this is an experimental format. I don't know if you read the whole thing, but he only has a selected amount of abilities and equipment at any given point. The abilities and equipment are actually selected by my opponent or agreed to ahead of time. That's why everything is listed as possible abilities or potential equipment in the CS. The story reason for this is everytime Scion enters Void and comes out again. He ends up with a random set of these things.

Sorry this seems complicated, but the idea was to create unique fighter with varied abilities. Scion is just the character you select in a fighting game that gives you a random set of abilities crossed from other fighters. Mind you I do design each ability to function on its own, or in combination with the others. It leave it to my opponent to select what they believe to be a fair combination.

At default, which is what Scion is currently operating as, Scion is just a long lived human and Dennis is just a high tech watch with good sight. I am trying to work on making this more clear. I tend to work on the CS during my freetime and my inconsistent mood and inspiration causes my writing to shift styles when I'm working.

So in short. When I said fight with the power portal(AKA The M-Device), Bass Cannon, and Solar Staff. I meant fight with only those things, and nothing else. If you thought that was too much or too little, then you could ask for a different load out.

I was aware of how it worked, but I assumed the section saying 'always on' meant those abilities were always present, effectively giving Scion his ability which allows him to be durable just because he wants to be, hence perception changing reality thing. On top of this are weapons which are IMO still near god tier, for example it hardly takes a genius to defeat my mech with the loadout you suggested, you can simply open a portal directly next to the mech and send the bass cannon's blast through, instantly destroying it.

@Rilla That was ages ago, Rilla. I still remember Skall but Saladin sticks less in my memory.

Maybe it was because I talked with Skally a whole lot more. Though I do remember also having talks with Saladin though.

"Always on" was meant to sate that he couldn't turn the ability off when he had it. I may have used some poor word choice in this case. As for the portal shot with the base cannon. Yeah you caught me on that being an idea, but I was under the assumption that it wouldn't do that much damage against a high tech robot for the future. In fact, I was under the assumption that it would take at least a dozen of shots to get anywhere close to wearing the mech out.

I also figured you could counter portals fairly effectively, as they are quite predictable. It really is a power that works its best when the opponent isn't aware of it. So mostly just the first time. After that your enemy is expecting it, and it will be much harder to get a direct hit and avoid getting counter attacked through the portal. The portal does operate in both directions after all. It was a fight I thought I could win, yes, but not an easy one by any stretch. I do like things to be interesting. I hope I haven't given a false impression in that regard.

@DJAtomika you can't bullshit a bullshitter. Lmao. I know you are hiding something!

@Skallagrim the thing is I don't know the next step. I know what issues I have to address though.

Well Skall was kinda my teacher back in the old days of the Gateway. After I got my ass handed to me a couple of times by him he basically showed me the regulations and style of T1 fighting. That was in a thread written by a guy called Remaeus.

Skall and Saladin were these, like, real legends in the arena chat room on that site lol. Every other day they were in a fight with the scrubs that tried to god mod their way to victory. I used to be a scrub until Skall knocked some sense into me. XD

If you ever decide to take the next step you'd be a really tough out.

@Skallagrim the thing is I don't know the next step.

That's easy. Just do this in front of the computer for 10 minutes before every post:

@DJAtomika, I could use Yurzia for our battle. I was going to use my priest but his fire comes from the demon possession and will be edited to have special properties (harder to put out) so I don't think he could steal it.

This will be free battle, right? I bet you wouldn't want to loose on purpose in a ranked fight.

@ImportantNobody Yeah, unranked.

And no he's not technically stealing the powers. More like getting his own.

I like learning things, which is why i fought Skally so much. hahah. i learned leaps and bounds after the initial fight, which tells you where I was before, though I think I had a good foundation, as I knew about T1 and was using it.

Indeed I shall, that's actually one of my main goals.

I'm thinking Alphonse vs Skallagrim, as I see them as our 'closers', really. By that I mean something akin to the ace in the hole. Many may see mine as Kei'taro, but Alphonse represents what I am ultimately comfortable with in the long run.

So what ultimately got you guys into Arena fighting?

For me, combat was a big part of MYB RPing, but then I went offsite and saw this wonderful bout, but could never find it again. It involved two guys in a stadium type of thing, one was using strings to create lines around the stadium and his opponent, early on, lost a finger.

That's my biggest goal, to participate in a fight that hooks me like that from the very beginning. To me, they represent the pinnacle of Arena RPing.

Hmm. I started by lurking. I had done my time in chats rping but found conflict resolution lacking. So I began a trek. I found elusive rooms where people fought, discussed and hashed out a system that while not perfect worked. Ever since I have roamed around Rp sites, found sites with people willing to share and I learned. Developing my understanding and skill at this type of writing until people started coming to me to learn.

I fought a childhood friend a bit in a similar format to this and he once did a clever move by telekinetically flinging one of my characters into the path of a fireball from my other character, killing the one hit and wasting the other's time and energy so that he was quickly defeated afterwards. I don't know if they are still roleplaying, probably not, or even what website we used, but it was fun. I didn't do much for a while after we stopped seeing each other.

The Guild is pretty much where i started both ordinary and arena roleplaying. Prior to that, i had participated only in one sci-fi roleplay on some game's forums, and it interested me a lot, so that's why i came here.

Singed up for one roleplay. Then noticed the site had an arena section. Got into a four-way with Skalla, Frokane and Lalliman. That's pretty much it.

Also, Important, i'll be posting for our practice match in an hour or so. I apologize in advance for the severe lack of action for such a long wait: all Vos'stoorge does is shuffle up to Hikaru and touch her blade with his dagger. Don't be fooled though - that is a very endangering move. XD
