Death Stage: Ashes of Eden
Sometimes the words "paradise" and "hell" are interchangeable when you love a fight.
"My country, ‘tis of thee,
Lost land in Anarchy,
Of thee I weep.
Land where our fathers died,
Land of our fallen pride.
Oh God, please save me!"
Background Info
Nearly a century ago, mankind took it upon itself to wipe itself out of existence. After global tensions exploded, nations began launching missiles and nuclear bombs at each other in an even now known as “World Divide”, leaving much of the world a wasteland, turning cities into ruined husks of steel and concrete and areas formally bustling with life, little more than a giant hole in the ground.
America like all other once-great nations, is not even a shell of what it was before the World Divide, now split into many areas lead by tribes, gangs, families, clans, slavers and god knows what else. The ruins of America is again destroy day after day as these groups fight it out on the battlefield, hoping to get more territory, resources or tech from the pre-war era. There is only one place of “peace”: Eden.
Eden is an arena constructed from an old world stadium where anyone who has to money can enjoy a fight while anyone who fights hopes they can get out. Fighters range from slaves forced into the games to disgraced military veterans trying to make some quick cash to young men and women hoping to gain some fame.
Life in Eden can be quick and gruesome, but also rewarding should you survive the hell known as Eden. But as they say, the only way out of hell, is straight through it.
Plot
The plot is mainly a tournament styled fight while players who are not fighting get to do whatever in the mean time. Those who win more will gain more food during meals and may get trinkets from adoring fans on Mail Day. This trinkets wil usually just be little decorative things your fighter can put on for fun but the GM will decide if and how many trinkets one may get at once, factoring in wins and character history.
However, there will be special events which can involve many people on teams having a naval battle or a battle on horseback or trying to win over an objective like capture the flag, defend the castle and, the most horrible of all, savior. Savior is a variant of capture the flag where both sides have had a few of their members captured by the enemy and will be lit on fire if they are not saved. However saving team members will not gain points, only scoring the flag will.
If a fighter wins enough battles or win battles with great flare, they may be granted a “relic”. Relics are either old-world equipment that out do what ever can be usually found in the arena and shops or they are masterworks made by legendary smiths, crafters and armorers that rival old-world equipment. They can range from pre-war riot shields and armor pieces to masterwork swords and even "consumables" like glitter. Relics can only be taken from other people after killing them.
