If you're going to use borrowed words for Japanese you commit to it, like "yangu desu", otherwise use. 若い死神。(wakai shinigami). By culture death in English used in this context refers to the grim reaper, or death personified, so you would use shinigami instead, which refers to the same thing.

In Japanese, whether you use death or death god depends on whether you're describing a being, or the actual event of death.
