In my opinion, the backstory was not too over the top. In a world like this, there will be always things that seem 'over the top' to us, but are very normal to these magical societies. I think it was done pretty well to serve as a proper anchor for his personality and for a race that is commonly known for their brutality and ruthless methods of magic, this shouldn't ring as an oddity to anyone else. I approve of your sheet, and now all we can do is await the final verdict from our GM.

I like talking about random stuff, and the only reason I've been withholding such urges is because I don't want to scare off any potential joinees with long pages of completely unrelated rambling.
