That eclipse should not have happened. It's almost impossible that it did happen. Someone, somewhere, should have predicted it. These things run like clockwork. But it looks like the clock broke. Everything went wrong when that goddamn clock broke.
As the edge of the moon caressed the halo of the sun, a chill broke across the surface of the earth. Just for a split second, everyone on the planet shivered. Now, if you've never seen a solar eclipse before, you don't notice anything until the moon has nearly covered the entire sun. Remember, the sun is bright. So when the light slowly started disappearing for each sliver of the sun being covered, it was the most exquisite thing ever witnessed by human eyes. It inspired such appreciation in each person that many fell to their knees and wept for the beauty being drained from the world, colour by colour, shade by shade, emotion by emotion. The world as we knew it was being sucked dry, all that was being left was a husk of a husk, a shriveled, decomposed corpse of a 4.5 billion year old body. A shroud fell over the planet, descended from the desolate halls of Heaven, Asgard, Jannah, Shamayim. It blanketed the world in grey. For all you know, you are the only ones left, trapped in your school as your teachers standing at their windows fade from sight, their memories and soul like a lake in a drought, drying up and vanishing. It is then, in the dawn of the quiet, when the first scream of tortured souls and chained hearts pierces through the shroud seeking retribution for past transgressions and unpayed debts against no-one but life itself.
That is my dramatic introduction. Here is my standard introduction:
You are a teenage student in a school. You did not know the eclipse was happening, and so did not witness it. You must rebuild your school so that it may thrive and you may live, looking for a solution to this event, if there is one. You must defend your school from the human enemies and otherwordly alike as they seek to defeat you for many reasons. You must live, lead, learn, survive, and fight.
BEWARE OF STRONG LANGUAGE, STRONG VIOLENCE, STRONG GORE, POSSIBLE ROMANCE (if you so wish it).
The even more standard introduction is that you're character is going to fill a roll within the survivor community to help it remain steady. If you want to be a doctor or medic, be it. Everyone needs a roll to help the community survive, and you're going to have to balance the defence of your school, your job, and your life with the other students. I have kept things purposefully vague to kind of put you in your characters shoes. You still know more than they do, but you don't know very much at all.
A link to the Interest Check. Please have a brief glance at my OP in that.
I don't know if I should also tag this under 'Fantasy' or 'Apocalypse' either, so let me know.
Before I get onto the CS template, I just want to set out some rules. I know, I'm such a dick.
Rules
1. You must be reasonably literate. I try to interact with poorly written posts as much as I can when I'm in a story because it breaks my flow of understanding and visualisation (my immersion, essentially), and this story isn't just for you, but others who may want to jump in and read it. Help their immersion too.
2. Don't be a dickhead. Don't godmode, don't metagame, don't start shit in the OOC. Two strikes and you're out.
3. Any questions, comments, suggestions, (nice) criticisms, drop them here or PM me and I will try to accommodate you as much as possible.
4. Happy hunting!

The personality and background are optional because I find that restricting my character to those paragraphs in the CS can really limit how some people would normally react in that situation. You can do it if you want, I enjoy reading them, it's just that I won't be putting too much into them. CS' are more of a formality than anything else in my opinion, but if you are more comfortable doing a large CS then by all means go ahead.
Hope to hear from you guys soon.
