I don't think anyone intended for the vampire to be accepted with open arms. Hence the need for charms and the mention of it being similar to the Lupin situation. He was accepted by the headmaster, but kept his secret from the general narrow-minded populace.

Short bio:
Vampires...Silver Tongued demons of the night who prey on the innocent and weak. Paladins...Wizards who took up arms as an order of Warriors of the light who fought these terrible beasts...At least that's how it was once.

Many years ago, the night creatures were much greater in number and they terrorized people throughout Transylvania and many other parts of Europe. The people of that time feared for their lives and the future of their children...A group of Wizards, once soldiers in a secret war that raged right alongside the crusades, came to humanity's aid. In the darkest hour, on a hill outnumbered a hundred to one these Wizards used their magic together to destroy hundreds of vampires and many other nightlings, The story goes that the Wizards used their pure hearts and magic light to save us all. At least...That's how the story goes.

The truth is a much darker tale.

They were brothers, In arms and blood. Those brave four who had faced down dark wizards and turned the tide of battle in the favor of the light, They were finally going home.

As they turned the bend they came to the forest that smelled deeply of cherrywood and soft pine. It was beautiful to see again but not enough to slow their progress. The four continued walking side by side through the trees and past the shimmering creek, It was then that Gabriel first noticed something was wrong, He approached the stream only to recoil at the sight of the body of a farmer from their village half submerged in the water, The others approached to the horror before Thomas asked, "What did this?" Emil knelt down next to the body and cast a spell quietly, checking for traces of magic, he was shocked when his spell fizzled out, "No magic here..." Raphael the strongest of their group, turned the corpse over and what they saw shocked the four strong warriors, the mans chest was caved in by what looked like massive claws. Gabriel broke the uneasy silence with a point, "Why are their werewolves this far inland?" Raphael drew his sword, "I don't like the look of this..." Emil stood straight and also drew his sword, "Guys...The village..." His words broke the men from their shock and the four of them started running as hard as the could to reach the village.

It was Gabriel who broke the treeline first and what he saw there froze him dead in his tracks. The village...Their village was a charred ruin. Bodies lie scattered about as if their had been fighting everywhere in the village before they had met their demise. For hours the men searched, every building, every well, anywhere to find even a sliver of life in something. Gabriel sunk to his knees at the sight of the home he had grown up in nothing but embers. It took the might of all his friends to pull him away from the sight. Having found no life, the Warriors decided on going a village over and finding rest there.

They would come to find a people in terror and a village without hope of a brighter day. Through the next few months the men mourned their families and their home, but it wasn't until that fateful night that the men would become the Night's most wanted. The village had grown accustomed to Vampires and Lycans coming in the night to snatch up two or three people. However the four would not allow this to simply happen. That night at least 20 vampires came and were put to the sword by the four. They simply had no idea what they had started.

Word of what they had done reached the ears of The dark wizard turned immortal, Dracul...And he sent many more to face them and again they were slain. Dracul would not stand by as some unknown wizards attempted to usurp his kingdom from him and so he gave the order and he and his army set out to erase these "Vampire Slayers". Vampires ravaged the land burning and devouring everything in their path until they were met...On that hill.

During the battle Gabriel was bitten and In an act of pure desperation in hopes of saving the village they had come to call home the four agreed to use a spell that would use their life forces to cast, a spell that would shine light as bright as the noonday sun over the valley. Dracul wasn't fast enough to stop the spell and the four saved mankind...Gabriel...Had been half turned when the spell went off, enough human to survive the light and enough immortal to cast the spell and live. Dracul was wise and through Gabriel the vampires would flourish once more or so Dracul would have hoped...In truth Gabriel only ever drank from the truly wicked and when he did so he took their life.

Gabriel spent many years studying and eventually found a way, with magic, to turn water into drinkable blood. and thus he also created the spells that he uses to cloak himself from the sun and give his skin color. He then used his time to learn about the art he had intended to learn when he was a boy...Music.

Gabriel taught himself to play many instruments and wrote many beautiful songs and deep sonnets and at the request of many kings and lords, he played. It was then that he met Dumbledore and they became good friends, Dumbledore told him of a place he could always come and stay and teach the art he loved so very much to others. Upon Dumbledore's death Gabriel came to teach at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry to honor his old friend's request...As the music professor.


Personality:
Kindhearted and strong, with a will of iron, Gabriel still holds himself to that which he was many years ago, Weather this is good or bad it certainly affects his life. He has a coldness to him but in truth he finds speaking through music much more powerful and true than speaking aloud.

Harpy Eagle.

Hobbies:
Writing, Composing, Walking the grounds at all hours of the night,

Personal possessions:
Carries a sword with a purple gem on the hilt that doubles as a looking glass/Crystal ball.

Relationships:

NPCs: His dear friend Luciano who tends to Gabriel and his many "Illnesses", (In truth he is a thrall...Bound to service under Gabriel. Many would say this is cruel...However Luciano was a killer and a dark wizard...Gabriel changed that.)

Not to be too flippant, but this is just an RP, and Tip seems fine with everything that has been done so far. So, in the name of casual, it's just an HP roleplay. As long as nobody is going mental with magic or something (and Tip approves all the minor things), I don't think there's a need to take issue with every little thing that hasn't been explicitly mentioned by the HP universe.
