Furnace walked in silence as he listened to Kelvin.
The words had a strange rhythm to them. They seemed to fit well together.
Thou that didn't help to comprehend them.
Alulah was gone again. The white orb was rising and the world had gone dark again.
There was definitely a pattern here and the floaty girl was part of it.

The Aurumancer spoke of fatigue, but they had been told go.
"Should we rest?" Furnace pondered out loud. By the way he sounded it was as if he was morally against the idea.
"I have plenty of energy left. We can keep walking for a while."

Separ frowned at the young girls attitude. Partly because of the way she was treating him, but mostly because he realized more than likely the girl was venting her anger after losing her family, shop, town, and practically everything she knew. He couldn't imagine how the girl felt right about now. Scared? Angry? Depressed? Whatever the case, Separ felt the need to let her know that he could be trusted. So standing up he looked at Khat directly, and speaking firmly said "I might be a stranger, but that doesn't mean we can't become friends. I may not be the strongest, fastest, or even coolest, but I will protect you, as will Vis. I can't protect you with a weapon, as I barely know how to use them, but so long as I can stand and so long as I can make a fist or kick with my feet, I will do everything in my power to keep you safe. I'm sure Vis, Carver, and practically everyone else in our group feels the same way." Separ after finishing up his short speech crouched down on the floor again. "So what do you say? Want to be friends?"

Khat looked at the ground as the man spoke, he was right, it wasn't his fault that she was mad and she shouldn't have taken it out on him, despite her underlying distaste for strangers. Khat scuffed her boot on a rock, did she want to be friends with this man? Though his talk was convincing, she wasn't sure. Finally after a few moments of thought she looked up.

"I don't know.." she mumbled, shrinking away a bit, "what do friends do?"
