The crew of the Leviathan could be considered a group of rebels. A group of misfits, really, and each one of them was hand chosen to embark on this endless adventure. They stand against the military, fighting fire with fire as they defend all they feel have been treated unjustly. Although their intentions are good, they leave a trail of chaos wherever they go. Hangings, slavery, starvation, disease, even civil wars; they've seen it all. They feel obligated to make a change in the world, but as a consequence they often upset the delicate balance keeping cities in tact.
They are called pirates by the government, and have accepted this term with honor. Much like stories of old, they steal from the wealthy to give to the less fortunate. They attack military patrols, as well as personal homes, docks, ships or establishments as they see fit. In their journey they have lost friends and comrades, as well as taken their fair share of live themselves. After all, this is the life of a pirate...
Rules:
+ Respect Guild rules.
+ A decent level of gore is expected in this RP. Although we encourage you to be creative in this aspect, please do not go overboard.
+ Romance is to be kept appropriate. If your character is 12 years old, they shouldn't be having any kind of sexual relations! Keep it reasonable.
+ Cursing is acceptable, but don't be extreme.
+ No God-modding, power-playing, Mary-Stues... Basic roleplay rules.
+ There will be no fighting in OOC. Respect yourselves and each other. Realize the views and opinions of the character may or may not reflect the views of the player.
+ You may have multiple characters; however, you must be confident enough in your writing abilities to support and portray multiple different personalities.
+ There is no size requirements for posts. However, you must include good grammar and spelling, and posts must be thought through. Character development is a must. The characters thoughts, emotions, and personality should show in every post. Let us get to know them; make them feel real; make us either love or hate them accordingly.
+ This is a fast-paced RP. In order to keep up, you will have to expect to post an average of 2-3 times per day IC.
+ All rules are subject to change.
Plot Basics and Setting:
The plot will be driven with little to no interference from the GM(s). Although everything will be kept in check and pointed in the right direction, it is up to the players to discus among themselves what they want to see in this RP. It will be very hands-on, and we want to hear everyone's ideas.
The setting is endless. RPG describes the Steampunk genre as “Futuristic technology existing in the past”. The Leviathan can fly! Let us go where the plot takes us. Although the technology is advanced, weaponry is still limited to early style firearms, such as black-powder guns and cannons. Weapons such as swords and daggers are also popular.
The government and military are in their early stages. The military is harsh on the lower-class. Public hangings, child labor, slavery and disease are all still common in large cities. Over population has brought hunger and death to the slums. Though many people wish to move to smaller towns, transportation is restricted to try and keep diseases from spreading. Those who are lucky enough to make it through the process of being cleared to leave these cities more then often are left with no money by time they're through.
