@TheUnknowable Curious here, what does Farvis think about being part of the team? He hasn't mentioned a desire to escape like Marga, who was also forced onto the team. You've intrigued moi :)

He doesn't like the fact that he's being forced to be on a death trap, and doesn't want to help the people who put him there and arrested him for doing things they don't like. He doesn't mind being a part of the team, though, and is intrigued by the fact that there are things about the ship that he doesn't know, perhaps even new tech he can study, or alien medical secrets he can learn.
That's why he wants to stick it to his captors. He didn't hurt anyone, but broke their rules, so they put him in cage and demand that he help them hurt others to get free of the cage. He's not going to let them get away with it, although if they are the highest bidder, he'll get them to throw in a pardon for him and sell it to them.
