"That sounds good, right Armaldo?" Jacky asked, turning his smile towards the armadillo hybrid. "Uh...About counting, I'm not good at teaching, but I can draw on a paper or something and help clear some stuff." he added, directing it towards both the other hybrids.

Alex smiled and nodded, "Luckily I know the basics.....1-10.....and some letters.....but mother never got very far with me."

She shrugged, "Somehow I don't see an education helping me any.....so it doesn't matter."

Flicking her tail she turned her gaze to the manor ahead. It seemed huge; with countless rooms and halls to explore. She remembered what kinds of furniture were in a home and wondered curiously just what a person did with such things.....some called them a minor luxury; to own a bed to sleep upon and have running water close at hand.

Sighing she crossed her arms. Would be nice to know what the humans planned with them and what kind of tests they were whipping up......made her want to find a guard and shake him up a bit....get some answers.
But.....Alex knew aggravating the security and the facility's owners like that would only bring her and the other hybrids harm. Violence wasn't the key right now.

"For now yes." Shadow shooed him away with his paws. "Now let me sleep. I need it." Shadow walked towards the back of the trailer again. He was hoping this talk of being "friends" would end now. He didn't like making these sort of alliances, but he would be out numbered regardless. Shadow knows when he has a choice and when he doesn't. When there are two options, he will consider them and play them out in his own head.

"I'm glad we've come to an agreement then." Jerric answered with a firm nod before slowly walking out of the trailer with a deep sigh. He was going to have to make sure Shadow kept to his promise, but for the moment the situation was taken care of. His eyes suddenly rested on a new hybrid comic towards the building, a leopard by the looks of it. His characteristic lazy smile grew back on his face as he slowly made his way towards her and Jacky. "A new one eh? Welcome!"

Alex blinked and looked up to see a third hybrid walking towards them; long furry arms showing he was undoubtedly a sloth.
Letting out a sigh she shrugged, "Thank you....although I'm not quite sure I feel as welcome in this place as I should be."

Flicking her tail she shrugged, "That feeling comes when someone ties you up and ships you in the back of a truck."

Eventually, a weak smile came to her lips and she crossed her arms, "I'm Alex.....

Jerric's smile slowly turned into a frown as he shook his head, sighing. "Tied you up? Really, it's like they don't even listen to me." He muttered as his mood clearly took a darker turn before he quickly smiled once again. "Either way, I'm sorry you don't feel welcome... I'll do my best to change that as soon as I can. I'm Jerric."

Armis didn't throw like she'd never done this before, but she supposed the lizard-girl had no reason to lie. When she had the ball, Kara had to try a couple of times before she could get it through the ring, and even then it felt more like luck than anything.

"You know, I'm not sure this is all there is to it," she said thoughtfully, before passing the ball back to Armis with a cheeky grin. The kids on the streets had played a much more hands-on version that didn't really focus on getting the ball through the hoop as much as trying to get the ball from each other.

When Armis had the ball in hand, she waited until her attention was turned before swooping in close and trying to tap it out of her hands like she'd seen the other kids do countless times without her.

@Puffhead Alex shrugged, "It's alright.....the hybrids are fine so far.....just.....I wasn't looking foreword to being in one of these places again..."
Sighing softly her face went blank, then she smiled, "It will be nice to be around others like me.....I've been alone in the mountains for ages; it hasn't done well for my friendly personality."

Taking a step towards the building she chuckled, "I heard you guys have some grub around here." Blinking though she added, "Maybe hold off on the actual grubs......meat is more my style."

Jerric laughed slightly at her comment before moving towards the building. "Come on, I'll make you a steak then." He promised as he opened the door with his elongated arm. "I promise everyone here is in a lot of the same situation as you, you're not alone. We all are having some trouble with coping at the sudden change."

@Puffhead Alex followed him in and nodded, "I understand that....One moment I'm trekking over the ridge towards my cave, then the next I'm half hanging from a tree. It might have been a hunter who trapped me....then the guards managed to find me by chance....but at that point I wasn't sure what to think."
She growled slightly, "I admit I was a little rough on them......I'm actually not surprised they tied me up...."

"Maybe learn numbers later. Now look for Armis." Armaldo said the Axoxotl before waddling away looking for the nice lady from before. After passing through several rooms he finally found her along with Kara at what he faintly remembered as a gym. It seemed they were playing some sort of game. He watched eagerly, it seemed to be based around the orange object that Kara seemed to be attempting to steal. Fascinating thought to himself as he sat down just outside the court.

Armis was completely oblivious of Kara trying to steal the ball. Kara managed to slip it from her just as she went up to shoot, but she she did the ball wasn't there. She stood for half a second, confused, before she turned to Kara and saw the ball. She made a face and stuck her toung out at her before giggling.
"It won't be so easy next time."
Then she looked over to see Armaldo sitting on the ground watching them and she waved at him.
"Hey Armaldo, would you like to play?"

"Okay," Armaldo walked onto the court looking at the ball curiously, "What do?" He had never do anything remotly like this before but it seemed Kara and Armis were having fun. Right now it seemed like they played keep away with the ball but Armis had tried to push the orange thing towards the tall basket. Armaldo didn't think he would be very good at this game but it was another thing to learn.

"I still plan to have a firm talk with them." Jerric promised as he made his way towards the inside of the manor and the kitchen. "I'm sure being tied up was fun though... Personally I've never tried it but it doesn't sound all that terrible." Of course Jerric was simply joking around at this point... Sometimes his sense of humor was a bit odd.

Jacky had followed Armaldo and was sitting on the side. He didn't intend to play like Armaldo was, he had bad experiences with balls in the past. The tennis balls....the tennis balls. He shuddered at the memory.

"There's not ganna be a next time unless you can get the ball from me," Kara teased, but before they could start again, Armis waved over the armadillo-boy from before. She still wasn't sure what to think about the little guy, but he hadn't made any move to threaten her, so she was content to play nice for now.

"It's called basketball. You have to take the ball from each other, and then throw it into the hoop there," she pointed at the hoop, before demonstrating by throwing the ball again. It bounced off the rim and back into their little group.

"It, uh, it's harder than it looks."

Her voice switched to one of joking sarcasm, "But thank them as well. My time tied and gagged in the back of a truck was certainly the best I've had! They were top notch!"

Rolling her eyes she laughed......a real laugh; probably for the first time in.....well she didn't know how long.

Gazing with awe at the decorations and furniture located within the building Alex was distracted quickly from her previous 'shindig' with the guards.
Suddenly however, her ears flicked and she heard an odd sound in the distance.....sharp screeching footsteps and the constant rhythmic thuds of something being slammed over the ground.
Coming to a halt she frowned and sniffed the air whilst her tail flicked from side to side, "What is that?"

Jerric looked over at her with a frown as he attempted to figure out what she was talking about. After a moment he picked up on the sounds and chuckled however, looking down the hall.

"It would appear some of them have discovered the basketball court." He answered with a slight smile. "Do you want me to show you? The game itself really isn't that bad."

@Puffhead Alex frowned and tilted her head, carefully repeating the foreign word, "Basketball?" She had never heard of it before.....but from the sounds echoing into her senses she was intrigued.
Turning to Jerric she smiled, "If you wouldn't mind, that would be great. The 'game' certainly sounds interesting enough."

Stepping foreword she attempted to follow the sounds, accompanied by the occasional laugh or odd thunk, but lagged behind should she make a wrong turn; to allow Jerric to correct her direction.

Jerric smiled and nodded, following after the girl with his usual lazy walk. "It's a pretty simple game... There's a ball. It's really bouncy so you can sort of hit it into the ground over and over again and it will bounce back up. The main point of the game is to get the ball through a hoop."
