.:Name:.Jaidee "Jade" Kattiya
.:Age:.23
.:Race:.Beorc
.:Gender:.Female
.:Affinity:.Wind
.:Class:.Pirate
.:Appearance:.A five foot six force of fury, Jade's most noticeable feature is her two different colored eyes. Her right is purple and her left is a light blue. A large amount of rings line her left ear and only one piercing on her left. Her braid is often brushed back to sit on her back so she she keep her hair out of her face. It is often messy as she will be working on something and it will get everywhere. To this effect she has threatened to chop it off several times.
.:Personality:.Rude, ambitious, and a liar, Jade takes first and asks never. However, despite her deceitful and risk-taking nature, Jade is very trusting and acts altruistically most of the time. She trusts wholeheartedly and is loyal to the core. Jade often teases people when she discovers that they are embarrassed about something. She doesn't really ever stop, even if you tell her to. She'll only stop when she gets bored.
Jade pretends that she is more evil and cunning than she actually is, often trying to say cruel things to hurt people and push them away, but ends up apologizing afterward. With her crew and her close friends, she admits that is quite shy, and though she prefers to be a first mate on ships, she'd be just as content to be swabbing decks all the time. She's also quite the romantic, but she'll flirt as much as she can to avoid the fact and keep things from showing through. She also never allows herself to be affectionate in public.
Jade is very observant, and very good at fitting into higher social circles. She may never be honest, but her lies always seem to put the gentry at ease and they never think twice about the woman with the messy braid after they realize that their items have been stolen. To this end, Jade is extremely logical and kind of hates magic, for all it's lack of sense and destructive power. She won't say anything though, as she knows when to keep her mouth shut.
.:Biography:.Jade was born into the richer Kattiya family, a family well known for it's trading fleet and it's command of the seas. She was the only child to inherit the family fortune and the company. At the young age of ten she learned how to lie and how to pass for nobility no matter what the circumstances. The truth was that her family's business was starting to fail due to her father's drunken mistakes and her mother's lack of sympathy to her husband's plight.
Jade had always figured she could do better than her parents and be able to treat people better, so she learned everything about sailing, swimming, and how to fight. She was twelve when the family's business failed. Without her perceived destiny, Jade struck out on her own, only taking her plain clothes and her family's necklace that showed people the Kattiya crest so she could use it if she got into trouble. She had made a few friends within the noble circles that she could stay with.
However, this was unnecessary as the second she arrived at the dock she found a new crew and captain with no boat. The meeting was coincidental, but if Jade hadn't been able to convince the group of pirates that she was fully capable of being a crew member and had failed to steal the last boat from her family, she would likely have turned to a different path. However, she only had to show her necklace, shoo away the guards, and help the pirates sail the boat to find her life of crime.
Jade stayed with the pirates for ten years, earning her way up the ranks and becoming close friends with the group of them. She even learned her fighting skills from the captain and the first mate. However, as a woman of twenty two years of age, Jade wanted to explore the world and not just the sea. So she struck out on her own. As she wandered the continent, she watched the world become more unstable with each new disaster. She even found herself siding with the Laguz on several things, as a couple of her fellow crewmates had been Laguz and were fleeing the continent to avoid the rampant racism.
However, if she wanted to stop the world from tumbling into chaos, she had to side with the Emperor and serve on his army to keep everything from crumbling like it had in the past. So she volunteered to serve the army to the best of her ability and pretended to be more of a hardcore pirate than she had really been to make sure they wanted her skills.
