Of course, I'm more explaining my own thought process here than trying to pitch it as the end-all-be-all solution.

I have a possibly irrational aversion to rping without any kind of kind of mechanics at all (unless it's something that wouldn't require any like a slice of life rp) so any chance to discuss systems is exciting for me.

So this has been fun, I'm eager to see what Rhymer thinks of things.

Cool to see so much interest in this. I'm a fan of mechanics but a world-builder at heart and I would hate to see the game suffer because of a technicality. I don't see Dark Star as a war game however-I'm not sure what it is really. Either way I have to go out of town for 1-3 days and won't really be able to work on this between then and now. Just giving you guys a heads up but I will be back.

btw city-cores are just pillars which = cities. All of the nation-states are underground and roughly cylindrical in shape. Pillars was just a semi-poetic way of describing the last hold-out of mankind.
