Squinting anxiously at the illuminated face of his alarm clock resting atop the nightstand near the queen sized bed still rumpled from sleep, Zachary Williams quickly assessed that he had at least a couple of minutes before he needed to head out for his first day of school and consequently wiggled the mouse of his desktop Computer, breaking up the screen saver that had been bouncing bubbles around his screen. Clicking closed the music player that had been blasting forth the latest hits, he hurriedly pulled open the icon for his instant messenger, typing in his password and logging in with a click of the enter key. Almost instantaneously, a list of his friends and contacts replaced the login screen and he instinctively scanned over the usernames for the one he wanted, grinning in a way that made a dimple pop into his left cheek when he saw that she was online. Double clicking the familiar name and causing a message screen to pop open, Zack eagerly typed out a message and sent it off, a little chime sounding as his message was confirmed in the upper screen.

Hey! Glad to see you're on! How are you?

As he waited, Zack bounced his right foot, trying not to look impatient. Absently, he brushed some of the slightly curly sandy hair, too long for his Mom's liking, off of his forehead, out of his faded denim colored eyes, and pulled out his iPod and popped in one of the earbuds. Quickly scrolling through the list of music until he found his favorite playlist and tapped shuffle, guitars and drums almost instantly springing into life. Relaxing back into the computer chair, he listened to the crashing beats, Keeping an eye on the clock as he did so, and waited for his messages to respond.

Samantha's bluish green eyes flickered open and quickly shut. An arm rose up to shield the bit of light coming from the crack in her curtains. The only place the light shines and it had to be right in her face? She sighed sitting up, the sun no longer in her face, rubbing her eyes to make her able to see again from the slight blindness. She blinked rapidly and her vision cleared. Well, as clear as you could get when you have bad eyesight. Samantha wore contacts, and when she was out of those she had to wear glasses, which she didn't like. Mostly because of her appearance she didn't like the way she looked in them. Gruggly she got out of bed, her bare feet touching the soft pink carpet that surrounded her bed.

"Ping"

Her computer light up and up popped a new message screen. She knew exact ally who it was from and a smile went straight on her face, suddenly she wasn't so tired. She stood up her bare feet touching the soft pink carpet and then onto the cold dark hardwood floor. She shivered and put her slippers on that were located under her desk.

"Hey there!" She excitingly typed, "I'm great, just got on, first day of school, you excited?"

She wasn't all that excited about her first day of school. It was a new school, and a high-school with that. She heard about them how you get bullied from day to day, then again, she's only heard it from that side, not from the other side. But the bullies would probably say that high-school was the best years of their life. She sat down on her big black leather seat and spun around a few times. Then finally stopping and getting up to start brushing her hair. She had taken a shower the night before, so she just needed to do her hair instead of taking a shower etc. She started brushing it back into a ponytail, her short, to the side bangs fell out of her hair as she put it up. She walked around with her hair back in her hand looking for a hair tie and finally found one on her nightstand. She grabbed that and tied her hair back leaving part of it not all the way pulled through so it resulted in a cute bun.

A quick look in the mirror and she was happy with how her hair looked. Her hair was a light brown with very small blonde highlights. She wore a white tank top and pink and white vertical stripes on her pajama pants. This was what she wore to bed, she had to change soon but she didn't want to miss another message from him.

He wasn't waiting long before the new message popped up on his screen, cheerful as always. Zachary began to type almost instantly, another grin spreading across his face. As was so easily his habit when he was chatting with Isabella, as his alter ego Payton, he was more open and forthcoming with his answers, sticking to the truth.

Honestly? Not really. It's school after all. But hey, I'll get to see my friends! That's got to count for something. He sent, his smile momentarily interrupted by a brief grimace at the thought of having to do homework again. His mother had insisted on his taking advanced classes, which almost guaranteed homework even on the first day. What a drag...

what about you? Taking any cool classes?

Tapping out the beat of the music on the edge of his glass topped desk for a moment, Zack then bent down to scoop up his backpack, unzipping The main pocket and shuffling through the contents to check that he had all his things together. There wasn't much, but he hadn't gotten his load of textbooks after all. After a moment of thought, he tossed in another notebook as a precaution. His calculus teacher, Mrs. Clapp, Was one of those teachers he suspected would be handing out a workload, first day or not.
