"Higitsune, come on out!" Shiranui let his Delphox out. "A Gengar snatched one of Liam's Luxury Balls. Can you please help us locate it?" Higitsune nodded and read Liam's mind, finding the memory of Rotom's capture and the Gengar stealing the ball. Severing the mind link, Higitsune scanned the house and located his quarry. "Del!" shouted Higitsune before taking off running like a hunting dog.

Liam followed Higitsune. The location the Gengar was in was filled with a bunch of oversized toddler toys. Gengar had the Luxury Ball next to a heater, trying to coax Rotom out. Once in the room, Liam saw this. He took in the contents of the room. "Is this where you and Rotom play?" Liam asked.
"Gen Gengar." The Pokemon replied.
"You're going to miss your friend, right?" Liam asked. Gengar nodded in confirmation.

"Liam, if one of us catches Gengar, it will still be with its friend," Shiranui suggested.

"Well, I already have a Gengar." Liam replied.

"In that case; Gengar, if you come with me, you and Rotom will still be together," Shiranui offered.

Genera's face became hopeful. He tossed the ball holding Rotom back to Liam. With that settled, Liam began attempting to settle on a nickname for it.

"Dusk Ball, go!" Shiranui threw a Dusk Ball and Gengar was drawn in. Almost immediately, the ball pinged shut and shrunk. He named Rotom's friend Kage.

"I'm thinking about 'Plasma' for a nickname." Liam decided.

"Why not?" asked Shiranui rhetorically, "Rotom is made of the stuff."

"Well, it looks like the rain has stopped." Liam said while looking out a window.

[James Davy]

"In that case, we can get back on the road to Laverre City," replied Shiranui.

"Well, lets go then." Liam said.

The heroes left the house and continued north on Route 14.

"I wonder what type the next gym will use." Liam said aloud.

[James Davy]

Shiranui looked in his guide book. "According to this, Valerie—the next gym leader—uses Fairy-type Pokémon," answered Shiranui, "They're weak to Poison and Steel-type attacks, but like every gym we faced expect her to have a counter-strategy for those types."

"Well, most of my Pokemon I have caught here are weak here." Liam said thinking aloud. "Scarlet, Jiriaya, Gallade, Sandy, and Rotom aren't dragons, but I don't have anything on me that's strong to her."

"You may not be able to match types with a Fairy, but a lot of them are dual-types," stated Shiranui.

"Well, If I think it's needed, I do have a few poison types back at Oak's lab." Liam added.

[James Davy]

"That might be a good idea," commented Shiranui.

Eventually, Lavere City came into view. "Let's hurry to the Pokemon Center."
