Shiranui nodded and the duo was soon there.

Liam made an adjustment to his team, to prepare for the gym. He called Plasma out, and told it to stay near him and not to go into anything.

Shiranui made a few adjustments as well, getting one of his old friends onto his party just in case.

"Shall we head out to the gym?" Liam inquired.

[James Davy]

"I think so," answered Shiranui.

As the duo left, Trevor was walking in. "I was wondering when I'd see you two." He said.

[James Davy]

"Hello Trevor," Shiranui greeted.

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Here for the badge?" Trevor inquired.

[James Davy]

"Indeed we are," answered Shiranui, "You?"

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Already have it." He said. "She just had a fashion show and she picks a random spectator to battle with. If they beat her she gives them a badge. You'll likely have to face multiple Pokemon."

[James Davy]

"That's nothing new to us," replied Shiranui.

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Well, you just watch us beat her." Liam said.

[James Davy]

"We'll get that badge in no time," added Shiranui.

At the gym, Valerie was sitting outside, talking with her Sylveon.

[James Davy]

"Excuse me miss, we're here to challenge the gym," stated Shiranui.

"Ah, welcome." she said. "I am the gym leader Valerie. "Who wants to go first?:

[James Davy]

"I went first back at Lumiose," stated Shiranui, "Liam, it's your turn."

Valerie said each of them would use two Pokemon. She started off with Spritze. Liam called out Scarlet the Delphox.
"Mystical Fire!" Liam called.
"Disarming voice!" Valerie called. Scarlet held her ears in pain, but not until after she fired off the attack of fire. Spritze was hit with the special flames, its Sp Atk lowered.
"Trick Room.' Valerie called.
"Will o' wisp!" Liam called. Scarlet managed to induce a burn on the opposing Pokemon.

"Gyro Ball!" Valerie called. Spritze slammed into Scarlet.
"Iron Tail" Liam called. Scarlet tried to attack but missed.

Valerie called for Gyro Ball again. Scarlet got hit. Liam called for Iron Tail, but again she missed.

Valerie had Spritze use confide. Scarlet's Sp Atk went down.
"Mystical Fire Scarlet!" Spritze was clipped by this fire attack.

Valerie ordered another Gyro Ball. After this use, Scarlet began to glow with a red aura, which Liam knew was Blaze.
"Blast burn!" Liam called. The fire attack issued from the wand, covering Valerie's entire half of the battlefield that was within the trick room. Spritze was getting worn out from the massive fire attack and the burn. It came out of the fire, but passed out from exhaustion.
"Spritze is unable to battle, Delphox wins." the ref announced. Valerie praised Spritze for the good job and sent out Sylveon.

"Moonblast!" Valerie called. The attack finished Scarlet off.
"Delphox is unable to battle, Sylveon wins." the ref said. Liam recalled Scarlet, also praising his Pokemon for a good job.
"It's time for my secret weapon." Liam said as he tossed a ball into the air. Venasaur emerged.
(trick finished)
"Leech Seed!" Liam called. A seed rocketed out from the flower and struck Sylveon, wrapping it in vines.
Valerie called for Fairy Wind. It didn't do much damage, but Valerie didn't have much choice at this point.
(Leech)
"Toxic!" Liam called. Venasaur fired a blob of purple goo at Sylveon, badly poisoning it. Sylveon has no super effective attacks to use on Venasaur, and it is also leech seeded and badly poisoned. There was no way for Sylveon to pull this out of the fire. All Vaerie could do was have Sylveon use Draining Kiss to try and suck back HP. Once Sylveon fainted, Valerie gave Liam the Fairy Badge.

After a while it was Shiranui's turn. "This battle will be a 2-on-2 single battle with no time limit," the ref stated, "Only the challenger may switch Pokémon." Valerie sent a Mawile out and Shiranui scanned it.
"Mawile, the Deceiver Pokémon. Don't be taken in by this Pokémon's cute face-it's very dangerous. Mawile fools the foe into letting down its guard, then chomps down with its massive jaws. The steel jaws are really horns that have been transformed."
"Seiryoku, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Golett out and the battle was on.
"Mawile, Crunch!"
"Seiryoku, Earthquake!" Mawile ran in and gave Seiryoku a cute look before engulfing the Golett in its jaw-like horns for massive damage and throwing Seiryoku away. The Golett struggled to get up and after it succeeded, Seiryoku started to glow. Seiryoku grew to almost thrice its height before the glow subsided to reveal a Golurk.
"Golurk, the Automaton Pokémon and the evolved form of Golett. It is said that Golurk were ordered to protect people and Pokémon by the ancient people who made them. It flies across the sky at Mach speeds. Removing the seal on its chest makes its internal energy go out of control." The newly-evolved Golurk punched the battlefield with its mighty fist, causing it to shake. Mawile felt the tremors and was knocked out in one hit.

Valerie switched the fallen Mawile for her Sylveon. "Sylveon, Moonblast!"
"Seiryoku, Shadow Punch!" Sylveon fired a beam of moonlight at Seiryoku and the damage was enough to knock the Golurk out with a mighty crash. "Seiryoku, return; Yoto, I choose you!" Shiranui returned his Golurk and drew and threw his Doublade into battle.
"Sylveon, Misty Terrain!"
"Yoto, start with Power Trick!" Sylveon conjured some mist that enveloped the battlefield. Shiranui knew what it did having used a Pokémon that knew the move. One sword wrapped his cloth around his partner and vice versa and after the cloths were unwrapped, Yoto was a lot sharper.
"Sylveon, Moonblast!"
"Yoto, Gyro Ball!" Sylveon fired another beam of moonlight and blasted Yoto for minor damage. The Doublade joined his swords hilt to hilt and started spinning around like a helicopter's rotors. Yoto zeroed in on Sylveon and Sylveon tried every evasion tactic it knew to no avail as Yoto used an array of complex patterns to strike Sylveon for heavy damage.
"Sylveon, Draining Kiss!"
"Yoto, Shadow Claw!" Sylveon ran in and kissed one of the swords on the flat of the blade. Yoto felt little more than a tickle and Sylveon didn't recover much health. The sword that wasn't kissed started glowing with shadow energy that grew six more blades, turning that sword into a shadowy shichishito. The seven-branched sword struck Sylveon after it finished draining what little energy it could get and Sylveon was knocked out.

Liam cheered for his friend. Valerie said the next gym was in Anistar City, but suggested they go check out the Pokeball factory to the north of town.
