Hey Lucius, you think you could cut down the numbers on that security force? Overkill wouldn't have been agreed upon for the terms of the meeting. I mentioned before that both sides are meant to have limited security.

Question Commander: Survival rate of the humans? I'm hoping not to turn them into mauve shirts and have them killed so early on (I was hoping to flesh them out first so I'm not killing nameless NPC's). Plus I figured that as "the best" from the Charlotte, they won't be so easily gunned down. I don't expect them to save the others, just get out of there.

We are in a pretty bad situation. There is no cover in the room, and while the enemy currently also does not have cover, there will be enemies on the second level above who will be in a much better position. Unless they immediately abandon their charges and run for the door, I would not expect all ten Human soldiers to survive. I would, however, expect some survivors. If they are already somewhat close to the door, they stand a better chance.

Well, the idea I had was that Donny and a few other soldiers would stay behind while the rest make a dash for the door, diplomat with them. The Engineer I'd imagine would be able to override the lockdown on the door assuming he's given some cover to work on it, which is what Donny and his allies are suppose to provide. The two adepts will create a barrier to cover their retreat while Donny, Rosemary, Alexander, and Amon (An infiltrator) try their best to hold off the sudden attackers. Eleanore and the others would try to retreat to a safe area, though that's going to be hard to determine what with the sudden ambush going on. I doubt they'd all succeed, and indeed I do expect some deaths. I simply ask if I can chose who lives and who dies, though of course I'll let you have a final say on the matter.

The door is already open, or at least one of them is. It would be far faster, no matter who is hacking, to go for the open door. However, once the shooting has started, there is no cover for anyone, so it is best to get out as quickly as possible. The hostiles don't have stormtrooper aim. The barrier will help, but it is going to be under a lot of fire very quickly. You can choose who lives, as long as it's not everyone.

Unless people come up with a combination of solutions that end up being very reasonably effective, then there could be more survivors.

Hmm... I'll think about it. I certainly know that Donny and his group will be alive (For now). I may kill-off or at least severely injure the ones protecting the diplomat to give Donny a reason to go rescue her. As far as tactics go would you be willing to work something out with me? Obviously tactics can only do so much if I don't know what's going to hit them first. Guys with guns are one thing, but if we're suddenly getting swarmed by Rachni, well I don't think my guys were trained for that.

Well, if there are going to be surprises, it wouldn't do well to tell you first. Of course, lack of surprises is also a strong possibility. Currently, there are about fifteen or so hostiles in the room, about the same number as allied soldiers. As well, there is strong evidence that more hostiles are going to be incoming from the second level. In this situation, they would likely prepare to fight against guns, biotics, and tech abilities, as any of those are possible.

Hmm... While getting out of there would be best, I don't think there's many places for the humans to go. At least they have a map, and I'm sure Eleanore would have a much better detail of the station. I don't suppose she could lead herself and her bodyguards to the panic rooms at the core of the ship?
