Physical Description: Matthes stands just over two meters high, with the muscular build of a Coronis Yeoman. His brown hair has been cut into a military style but he maintains a single braid that has just passed six inches in length, mimicking the Fire Warriors who trained him.
History: Matthes' father, grandfather, and great grandfather worked their orchard outside of Kel'Shorin. The Tau colony city was only recently established, but the Greene family's roots go deep here. Their servitors have been replaced by Earth Caste drones, but the family continues to hue to the old ways. Worship the Emperor, follow the law, and be a moral man.
After the passing of his father, Matthes inherited the family orchard. His husband, Kristoph, moved in not long after. With the help of Xenos tech inside the Kel'Shorin city, the two of them welcomed a daughter, Anice, into the world together. Kristoph maintains the orchard with Anice and the drones while Matthes tended the herd of Grox there.
The Chosen One: While on a wargame patrol with his fellow Gue'vesa and their Shas'ui instructor, the squad encountered a tribe of feral Ogryn in the southern hemisphere. The Ogryn overwhelmed the squad in close combat, killing two, injuring four, and taking most others prisoner for "din-din!"
Matthes followed the Ogryn back to their lair while the survivors tended to their wounds, and used his markerlight to transmit information to the Tau relief force. With an accurate count of the enemy, their position, and the surviving prisoners, a Drone Sniper used the data to eliminate the Ogryn and free the prisoners.

Physical Description: Theta Xi is somewhat slender, standing at 5'4. Despite being slender, she is slightly stronger than the average human, thanks to some light biological enhancement. Her eyes are blue, with her hair being a dark brown. She keeps her hair short, usually in the Alice style. Her legs have been removed from the knees down, replaced by cybernetic legs. There are several small valves dotting her torso. These are the valves that she connects her rebreather tubes into, when donning her armor. She usually speaks very softly when not wearing her mask, this is due to the mask having a vox amplifier, making her voice mechanical and much louder. Aside from a small number of scars, there is not much else. Reference Picture
History: Theta Xi is an orphan. Unlike most Skitarii, she was picked up as an infant by a Mechanicus Explorator who was under the work of an Inquisitor at the time. Her mother sacrificed herself to save the Inquisitor and his retinue, and in return, the Inquisitor allowed his Explorator to adopt her child. The Explorator raised and trained the child as a Skitarii Ranger, deciding to keep her as human and independent as possible, while maximizing combat effectiveness. This meant that instead of most cybernetic replacements, he opted to go with biological enhancements. This resulted in a Skitarii that at first glance, could barely be called a Skitarii.
She stayed on the Inquisitor's ship, most of the time studying and training. On her 16th birthday, the date when she was adopted, as her actual birthday is not known, her father gifted her a masterfully made Galvanic Rifle, a suit of Ranger armor, and robes. This is when she became an Inquisitorial Acolyte alongside her father. During the years of her service, she became a skilled warrior, having fought heretics, daemons and xenos alike. Her service ended just 8 years ago however, when her father was assassinated. The Inquisitor allowed the Ranger to avenge her father, and thus he lost two of his trusted Acolytes. Theta Xi hunted the killer of her father for 7 years, finally killing him on the world of Coronis.
With no way to contact the Inquisitor, and chances being that the Inquisitor was already halfway across the galaxy on another mission, she opted to stay on the planet. Building herself a small wooden house, where she lived in peace, having lived a life of fighting and danger. Two months passed before the Tau discovered her, her little hut and small farm. After a tense moment of discussion, the Tau allowed her to live there, on the condition that one of the Tau would come at the start of every month to check on her for a minimum length of two years. Theta Xi agreed.

Other: I haven't decided on her sexuality. No family. Had a boyfriend once, was short lived since he was sacrificed in the name of Slannesh to summon a (Male)Daemonette in the middle of an Imperial Cathedral. Might have Theta Xi tell this story IC, if someone asks. The most important thing to note is that she'll always wear her Ranger gear and armor in combat, even in her suit. This means she has a mask, with goggles with advanced targeting arrays, that also acts as a rebreather. If the air is too toxic for the gas to filter through, she has tubes that connect to her lungs, allowing her access to an air tank built into her backpack. She has red heavy robes and armor, her robe is lined with tiny leaden leech-spheres that absorb harmful energies. She'll always find a way to carry her Galvanic Rifle around. This gun fires bullets that are charged with galvanic energies, it 'causes all the potential energy of the target to burn out in a blast of electrical force.' However, she'll only really be able to use this stuff when she's not in her suit. Meaning that if her suit is disabled, she'll still be able to fight. She might do something crazy like open the cockpit to use her own targeting arrays, if the suit's arrays are damaged or something. Galvanic Rifle reference

The Chosen One: Being one of the few battle-hardened humans on Coronis, she was a natural choice to be chosen to pilot a Battlesuit. It took some convincing, but she reluctantly agreed. A recent incident also helped the Tau to pick her, the Tau that was sent to check up on her last month discovered that she had taken down the baggage Great Knarloc that had suddenly become furious and broken out of its pen. When asked why the corpse of a Great Knarloc was right next to her hut, she said that the Knarloc had almost destroyed her house. And that made the beast an enemy. In reality, the Knarloc did in fact almost destroy her hut, but Theta Xi successfully lead it away by angering it some more, and then fought it for 7 hours, before finally slaying the Great Knarloc.

Theta Xi's suit was crouched, and she had her cockpit hatch closed. It was strange, all this xeno technology was unfamiliar, imposing and threatening. She couldn't hear its machine spirit. Perhaps it was inquisitive of her. It made her nervously chuckle. The suit, inquisitive of her. A servant of the Omnissiah. She put it off, it less than a few hours she would be fighting alongside the machine spirit of the suit, the two working in tandem to bring death and destruction. She muttered several prayers, to the Omnissiah, to her armor, her Galvanic Rifle she had crammed into the cockpit with her, and last of all to the XV88 Broadside Battlesuit she was in. She wasn't sure if its machine spirit was able to understand her, but she said it anyways. She looked at the blue screen in front of her to look at the others in the Orca, there were other battlesuits crouching in the compartment. Several other human soldiers, Gue'vesa she recalled, and Tau Fire Warriors. She could see the human soldiers clutching their guns, some of them Lasrifles, some of them Pulse Rifles. Most of them were nervous, having never fired a gun to kill before she assumed.
She wished she could be right there alongside them, her presence could maybe help them. To remind them that the Omnissiah and Emperor was always watching. Just as she thought that, she muttered a prayer to The Emperor, just to cover all her bases. She didn't know many prayers, just the ones that Tracks, an Imperial Stormtrooper had taught her. She prayed for everyones safety as well, just to cover their bases too. She looked at the other Battlesuits, wondering if their pilots were communicating with the machine spirits of their suits. Her eyes finally fell upon Shas'ui On'ria. She had instructed her on how to pilot the XV88, although the training regimen was short before they were ordered to board the Orca at a supply depot. She thought about her former master, the Explorator, her father. She then thought about Shas'ui On'ria, and how familiar the orders felt. It was a different face, a different voice, but the orders were the same. "Shoot", "Run", "Dodge". It filled her with purpose. She smiled a little, she felt like an old rifle being picked up once more. She placed a hand on her own gun. An old rifle, being carried by a new soldier. A new master. She actually sort of missed her small farm. And her potted plants. And the nearby stream.
