In my opinion, it should. You may be able to cast them faster, and stronger, but it shouldn't negate the need for prepping/charging, just because you specialize in it. But that's my take on it, and how I interpret T1, and how I play it. Obviously, at some point, it'll need to be centralized when two people with opposing views on it come to battle, but that's with everything.

So you should have to prep shooting your pistol, or firing your bow, or swinging your sword?

You can't limit someone's primary attack just because it's magic.

No, but those are classified, in my opinion as physical attacks, such as a punch - though you can make a case for them being 'prepped' when you aim, notch, or draw back for a swing.

As I said, it's my interpretation of T1, and how I've always worked it, barring one or two cases(Such as Kei'taro vs Aeryn; but he started it, damn it!). I'm not saying YOU have to operate that way, as we've quite clearly established nearly everything going into a match is up for negotiation. I'm saying that's how I've always done it, and how I'll continue to do it.

That's fine, but having a serious discrepancy in rules is sort of an issue considering I'm the judge.

You guys can decide among yourselves if all magic should take a post to use. Personally I think it's hard to say, because the current general system (T1) only covers a very narrow and low tier range, it doesn't translate well to your battle right now.

We've already pretty much handled it, there wasn't much of an issue. I just asked if he needed to charge his magic.

We probably should decide whether or not magic needs at least a post to charge, I'm fine either way. If he doesn't need them, that's okay.

After the match we can all get together and discuss what the general rule will be going forward, because this probably will come up again in another fight.

Yeah, I'm with Rilla on that one. While it wasn't a disagreement here, it will totally be a disagreement in the future.

Though I'm thinking more along the lines of three schools of magic.
Reactive: Activates in response to stimuli and is less powerful than actives and less convenient.
Passive: Is always active so is often the weakest of the three.
Active: You have to charge before using it, though with the highest possible damage output.

Good game, Pikatok may be fast. But not faster than lightning.

Hahah, you probably could have evaded it mostly; since you had time to rip out a piece of flesh, and chuck it at him. xD

It was more: Doing it while it was happening.

Rather than: Doing it before it happened.

I pull some shit sometimes, but I know a guaranteed hit when I see it. You set that up perfectly, and in character, there was no way to stop it.

Quite honestly, that was my first fight in a while where I went in with a plan.

Not counting the completely out of character plan against Tre'Yan.
