It's officially called the Children of the Red King series, but I always called them the Charlie Bone books after the protagonist. Plot revolved around a really old school in England that catered to intelligent students or those with talent for the arts, but it also had a select bunch of students from particular family lines (all leading back to a legendary magician called the Red King) that all had unique abilities, like summoning thunderstorms, turning into birds, and talking to/traveling into photographs and paintings.

*Gasp!* I loved reading those! Actually, I started rereading them recently, but only got to the second before things got busy. The writing itself is definitely geared for a young audience, but I still love the plot and characters. Who says grown-ups can't read children's books? XD

Fantasy of all sorts. If it has magic, swords, mythical creatures, or all of the above, I'm probably going to like it (unless one of the plot devices really rubs me the wrong way like it did with the Wheel of Time books). I'm also a theater guy (my BA is in Theater & Drama), so a solid 1/3 of that is plays.

Hey everyone just an FYI I'll be gone for the 3rd until the 8th. Kittyluna has my number, but I will only get to check my phone a couple of times while I'm gone because where I'm going there's no cell reception and I have to drive like 15 minutes to get a signal. While I am gone McHaggis and Kittyluna are in charge. They know basically everything about the plot so if you have a question you can ask them, that doesn't mean they'll answer though. They know not to give out spoilers. They can also run all the NPCs while I'm gone so if you need to interact with one of the NPCs they are available. I am not going to have a plot post go up while I'm gone so there isn't too much to worry about. Basically right now you need to get your character out into the parking lot. (Except you Code since your characters didn't hear the announcement and no one has noticed you're missing yet.)
