Name: Gwyneth “Gwen” Hawke
Alias: Alciel
Age: 14
Appearance: Alciel, or Gwen, is an upstanding young lady who reaches 5 foot 4 inches in height. Her thin frame lacks any definition that maturity would bring, and her weight stays rather low in the 100 pound region. She has straight red hair that goes down to her chest, grayish blue eyes, and freckles dot her light colored skin. A black tattoo rests on the inside of her left forearm, the sigil of Alciel, a triangle with a circle on the inside and pointed arrows reaching out of each of the triangles points. She wears the usual stuff that kids her age would, a black camisole, dark jeans, and a pair of red converse sneakers.
Abilities/Skills: Genius- Gwen’s intellect rivals that of aged scholars. She’s attended one of the most prestigious academies in The Presidium, learning various advanced mathematics and sciences. She is also familiar with the inner workings of computers, electronics, and machines.
Soul Reaper- Alciel is a demon, and demons want souls. When somebody dies, Gwen has the chance to capture their soul and devour it before it ascends to heaven to be judged. Captured souls can be used to heal the wounds of the bearer, or another person by transferring the soul’s essence through touch. Not only that, but the bearer can look into the soul and learn things about the person that it used to be, such as their known information, thoughts, and desires. Lastly, Alciel can convert a soul into raw energy that can power electronics or be flung at foes as a weapon. Depending on the wills of individual people, their souls can vary in power, and a lesser demonic force like Alciel may not be able to absorb these stronger foes.
I see dead people- Gwen perceives the world on a whole new level, and can actually see and communicate with spirits, ghosts, and all manner of supernatural being.
Backstory: Alciel was a demon who never seemed to get his way. You see, Alciel only ever had one goal, to completely destroy humanity. While he dreamed big, the boy wasn’t the most powerful hell spawn, and always seemed to be overshadowed by his colleagues. The most headway he’s ever gotten was the destruction of a few European villages, but he soon entered a long depression when his mortal rival, Leviathan, proved he was better by causing the Library of Alexandria to burn to cinders. Alciel would then be content to sit by the sidelines as greater abominations were committed, such as the world wars and the events that would cause the ruin of Earth. He would eventually rethink his life and settle for ruling one of the last territories of Earth, choosing to possess Lex Luthor. The only problem was that Alciel misaimed and entered the body of a newborn baby girl named Gwyneth Hawke. Upon entry the purity of the child was too much for the demon to handle. Instead of devouring her soul, he accidentally fused with it, causing the two to become one and the same, reverting Alciel’s mind to an infantile state.
This new being would grow up confused and feeling as if there was more to her than she currently knew. Gwen would swear that she could see people that others could not, and dreamed of burning planes of hell and monstrous creatures. This worried her greatly, but she never let it get in the way of her academics. This is where the girl excelled, acing all the classes she took and proved to be one of the leading minds of her generation. By 13 Gwen was working in Luthor’s labs programing the Lex-bots and designing more efficient models. Life was good in The Presidium; parties, posh apartments, literally anything Gwen wanted she could get.
Eventually the dreams would get so bad that they occurred on a nightly basis, and in every one Gwen would be lucid. When she looked to her body she saw that of a young man, and on her forearm a sigil that she somehow knew to say Alciel. At this discovery a man appeared before Gwen, saying that his name was Satan, the ruler of hell. Satan would proceed to tell Alciel that while he initially fucked up, there was potential in his current situation, and that his original task of ruling The Presidium was still obtainable. In her dreams, Satan would teach Gwen of her abilities to manipulate souls, and ordered the girl to stage a coup by programing the Lex-bots to do her bidding, and strike Luthor and his associates down when the time was right. She came pretty close to pulling it off, but ultimately failed when her plans of deceit were discovered. For the crime of treason, Gwen was shipped off to Pandemonium.
Sample Post: Alciel patted the dirt off his coat and gave a long yawn in the wake of the rising sun. He gazed out one of the inn’s many windows from the room he had rented for the night. The small town of Rivermouth and its peasant population would be stirring from their slumber just as the demon boy had, preparing for their miserable mortal lives. A fiendish smile came over Alciel as he looked over the river that bordered this settlement. This was his time. Today, he’d so something seriously evil. Walking down to the wooden bridge that crossed the stream of water, Alciel sat and waited, munching on a sweet bread roll in an attempt to seem as though he was just enjoying a light breakfast. When he was around half way finished with the pastry, a woman approached the bridge with a fishing rod in hand.
“Just in time…” Alciel had to stifle a cackle at this thought. His target was one Hilda Baker, a young lady who came out to the river daily to feed her family. She would do as she always did, cast her rod and wait for a bite, only she would be uneventful, as Alciel had willed it so. After an hour of clear streams, Hilda started to pack up in disappointment. Just as she began to retreat back to her cottage, Alciel stood and placed his hand on the woman’s shoulder. “Hold on miss. I happened to notice that you’ve had troubles in fetching supper for your kin. Maybe I could help in your quarry.” With a mix of confusion and desperation, Hilda turned back to the river to hear what this young man had to say. “Now, you may think that the fish just aren’t in this part of the river, but that’s not your issue. What you need is proper bait. Why not use these?”
Almost like magic, because it was, Alciel pulled a basket of worms from behind his back, and offered them to Hilda. “If you use these worms, I’m sure you’ll be able to tempt even the most cautious fish out of this river. Why not give it a go then?” A few moments later Hilda was back at with one of Alciel’s worms on her rod and patiently waited as he had instructed. She soon felt a rather violent tugging, and with ease Hilda surfaced one of the biggest fish that the girl had ever seen. With each worm the girl could catch a fish of equal size, and soon the whole village had emerged to the scene.
“Alright, alright, I get it! You can stop showing me this now, I understand that I fucked up bad that time!” The vision of the old timey town faded as the whiny grievances of Alciel, or Gwen, ordered her master Satan to put this show to an end. The man that stood in front of the small girl just shook his head in disappointment. “I’m showing you that to let you know that you can never do worse than what you did back then. You want to know what happened? The whole town was able to eat for a week! It baffles me to this day that you didn’t think to make the fish poisonous.” Alciel sighed, unsure of how to respond.
“Look, that was your past, your future has yet to be made. Greatness will come with the death of the one named Luthor, I am sure of it. If not? Well, I’m sure the life of a peasant girl will treat you nicely Alciel.” Wishing to sling a rebuttal to Satan’s insult but deciding against it, Gwen would bow before her master. “Good. Now go, prepare these machinations you control for the upcoming battle…” Standing, Alciel looked over at the burning planes of hell, suddenly seeing a portal back to the waking world. “I won’t fail you this time my lord. This plan is foolproof! It was quite simple really. All I needed to do was add a tiny bit of code to the robot modules. A simple, if A happens, do B. And once we put this code in enough of the Lex-bots…” Satan grimaced, both annoyed and confused at this display of child-like giddiness. Alciel soon caught on, and quickly retreated through the portal.
Notes: I like southern iced tea. It’s refreshing and sweet, much better than the traditional stuff.
