The world of humankind has faced many problems. It has raged wars upon itself. It cured many plagues over and over again. Extinction was never an option for the race of humans. In the recent decades, a new trouble has risen; mutants. Inhumans. Their powers and their genetic difference of the human genome made them the superior life form, but humanity is not leaving without a fight. Even if the fight is on social terms.
From the 60s on, mutants developed their own stand in civilization. In the 80s, they grew in such large numbers that mankind was afraid of them. In the 90s and early 21st century, they wanted to register all of them. This led to many discussions, protests and even conflicts. At the end, the people decided to lay down their arms and call it even. The Mutant Registration Act was not pushed through the Congress. Mutants became a part of everyday life.
Many mutants decided to share their experience with one another, teach them how to train their powers and control them. Some were more eager to learn than others. They decided to stay together, forming schools that are for mutants only. Those schools not only teach basic learning materials, such as Maths and Science, they teach the basics of mutant powers. Their origin. Their training.
Maybe one day, humanity has to face this threat... But they will not fight unarmed...

Hello fellow RPers. I am in the mood of an X-Men RP and would be happy to see interest in this.
The basic setting for this will be similar to the comics and movies, but none of the original characters of the series will be present. The School for Gifted Youngsters by Charles Xavier does not exist as people know it, but it is more institutionalized, but still independent towards the mutant vs human conflict. The whole system is run by mutants.
Now this is where the players come in. This will start off a little as a slice-of-life RP, so people can get to know one another and establish some friendships. When I seem it fit or people demand for the story to be pushed, I will add the actual story plot I have in mind. This means I need strict cooperation of those that will play.
---------
To start off, the students are freshmen to the Mutant College of Liberty and Equality, in the (fictional) city of Highsand (similarities to San Francisco). Students and some of the newer professors like to call it 'The Grinder', as it is one of the Colleges for mutants with high disciplinary standards and high expectations. Nevertheless, it is one of the highest seen Colleges with many successful graduates becoming important people in politics, science and business.
The semester just started off, you have your courses and you got a day or two to get settled. Most of the students live on the spacious campus, fewer decide to rent apartments in the city.
This day, you have an opening ceremony to attend to and you will meet the staff...

For those wishing to join in. Here a few things I'd like you all to keep in mind. I am very, VERY picky about people not posting. Most of my RPs have come to an abrupt halt or even died off, because people did not communicate and simply stopped responding to anything. This is a big no-go for this RP. If you cannot post in a certain timeframe or you are dropping out, make sure that I/we are informed accordingly.
Characters are also a big issue in X-Men RPs. I have encountered many powerplayers in the time that I am simply fed up. The stronger the power of your character is, the much more impact a drawback should be on him/her. I will not accept characters that have reality bending abilities or supernatural capabilities without some serious drawbacks!
And of course, we have all the rules that we are (hopefully) so familiar with. Keep the standards of the forum (in this case Casual, which means at least one paragraph of roughly three or more sentences), don't swear too much (only in appropriate context as far as I am concerned), mature content should be addressed properly (don't go too much into detail with gore and violence and do the whole sexxing in PMs) and at last, be friendly to the fellow players, as they are just as human as you are.
As last note, should the amount of players become larger than expected, I will have to consider adding a Co-GM. This person, just like the GM, will have the last word in discussions. Whoever offers their aid in the time of need will be taken into consideration.
