Hey there- call me Snarl. I'm an 18 yearold senior heading off to an art school- I have a lot of time on my hands coming up and I'd really like to start writing again. I'm a guy, if that matters, and I prefer playing guys as my main characters- although I'm not adverse to roleplaying minor female characters.
My Do's -Literacy and proper sentence structure, 2 paragraphs minimum per post -Sex and gore and grit, I have no qualms with writing nasty and horrifying stuff. -Play multiple characters. I often take on the roles of minor characters- to give the world more depth. -Move plot along. Just because I put forth a lot of ideas does not mean that I won't follow yours as well. Idk what it is with people on this site and refusing to actively add to the plot- experiencing my ideas rather than actively collaborating with me. It wears me out and I'll 9/10 times drop you.
My Don'ts -First person (this writing style just doesn't mesh well with mine and it annoys me tbh) -Concerning Sex: I won't tolerate rape, age gaps, slavery or anything else that is equally as disgusting and debasing (if what you plan on posting causes you to hesitate before sending, ask me about it, because I'll frankly call you out on it and that'll be awkward for the both of us.) -Run on sentences. I abhor these. Use a comma- hell, overuse them like I do.
The Roleplays -Dragon Age (Origins or Inquisition) Pairings: Cullen*xOC Alistair*xOC OCxOC OC*xCassandra OC*xJosephine
Plot-wise for the above: -After the main plot line and more focused on romance and downtime. -During the Blight or opening of the Rift and our characters are just duking it out against demons -Diplomatic approach- a focus more on political aspects of the roleplay and our characters spend more time in a royal setting -Our characters are new recruits for Inquistion or under the Warden in origins -Our characters are set apart from the main plot line altogether and live in the world as normal people, idk.
Other Roleplay ideas: -Inception (just watched the movie and I'm really interested)
You play as a character and I'll play as the world. Your character will have 2 companions and we can come up with various things for your character to experience and do. For this roleplay I'd like for us to come up with an intricate world for your character to be in. The possibilities are endless. I'd like there to be a focus on fantasy and medieval settings. Mythical creatures and royalty and all that. Magic, too, plays a major role.
I have a base outline that we do not ave to follow if you don't want to:
****made with the intention of your character being female**** Your character (who we'll call C for short) lives in a small village set apart from the cities of magic to the north. She is the local patrol woman who chases off animals from the fields. One day, while patrolling with her friend Andreas, they find an old warrior face down in a stream. He is alive but just barely. They take him back to the village, where he remains comatose for a few days. During these few days C finds out that her father had arranged for her to be married. She was aware that her family was poor- but to be sold away like livestock was the last thing that came to mind. Her father sells her off to a wealthier family in the village over. Her husband is nice enough and his family treats her well- but the life of housewife is boring and she often daydreams of running away.
Soon after a wealthy Lord from one of the cities strolls into the village, claiming that he has just bought up all their lands and that they would need to start paying heavy taxes to him. The townsfolk note that he uses magic and promptly follow his word. C's husbands lands, however, were recently burned up by a forest fire. His family decides to sell C away to pay up their debt. C is then sent into the city to live at Lord Tyrants house- and it is here where she learns of magic. However they treat her badly and the Lord scares her- so she runs away. She runs for days- feeling that she might die if she remains outside for much longer- but soon she returns to her husbands home.
Instead of welcoming her with warm arms he looks disgusted- he claims she has disgraced his family and holds her captive until Lord Tyrant comes and fetches her. Enraged, Lord Tyrant turns her into a slave and forces her to clean and entertain the nobility that visits the manor. It is during her enslavement that C meets her friend, whom we'll call Genevieve, or Gene for short. Gene is also a slave and both girls bond over their shared torment. They soon begin to devise a plan of escape and wait for the right time. A year passes and they find an opportunity. They escape- but not before C wounds Lord Tyrant and steals one of his Medallions. However, caught in the cross fire of the magic, Gene is turned into a dog. They manage to get to safety but now C is faced with the issue of turning her friend back into a human. It is during her pondering that she begins to hear a voice other than her own- and she soon concludes that it is coming from the medallion. A person is trapped inside! The medallion offers to help if C can release him from his prison- however the journey is long and difficult.
And here is where the roleplay would begin- with C setting out with the medallion and Gene the dog.
So I had an idea for a story once- its about this forest that stretches out in front of a mountain like a wall. This forest is enchanted and fabled to house a bunch of fairy-tale creatures. The townsfolk and farmers that live near are weary of the place- they believe monsters sneak out at night and cause mischief.
Of course there is no physical evidence for this mischief- just voices in the night and strange sounds. But it catches the attention of this guild of people- they are called the Crows because they dress in all black- but they are a guild of executioners that claim to be scientists. They claim to go into the forest to investigate the life there- but people have reportedly spotted them killing creatures and performing experiments on them.
Anyways, the function of the forest is that it keeps the monsters in and keeps the people out. This was true as of late, however. The legends tell of the Princes of Seasons, which are 4 great stags that guard the forest- their power combined holds up this barrier between the world of fables and world of man. One of the Stags, however, has gone missing- which explains why the barrier is weakened enough for some fables to leave while at the same time allowing Crows to go in.
The story was going to be centered around this boy who lives with his family just outside of the forest. His father was a woodcutter and, based off of a pact his ancestors made with the fairyfolk, he is allowed to cut down a few trees in the forest to make his living. It is during one of these trips that they encounter a gorgon- a giant snake woman. She spots this boy, who's called Nolan, and swears that she'll kidnap him. Which she does, after killing the boys family.
Now, in the forest, a bump on Nolans forhead- which he had always assumed was just a birthmark- turns out to open into an eye when the magic of the forest influences him. It turns out that he is half gorgon and the snake woman is his mother.
At the same time there are groups of other half fables living in the forest- but their claim is more legitimate. There are the Witches= who are a clan of female magic users who live near the heart of the forest and who maintain their numbers by living off of the legend in a nearby town- stating that a young girl was to be sacrificed to them every few years. And then there are the wolf-people clans. Who are just packs of men and woman who can shapeshift into wolves, wearing their "wolf skin" in their human form like armor. There are the Birds of Paradise- which are people that have colorful bird-like features.
And then there are your other monsters. Trolls, tree-men, fairies, centaurs, satres, minotaur, and more.
This looks like a long read, ik, but its really just a summary. There's so much more to the world that I have- but I haven't touched the idea for months. Like I said, it was supposed to be a story- but I gave up on it.
