Uh, that's kind of extreme, I don't think he should be hospitalized because of that. But why not? :-)
Also, bear in mind that we are not talking about near-death here. The body is unable to use up all of its energy efficiently, because some energy-producing processes take a lot of time and are thus unavailable in emergencies. Which is where Chris's power comes in. I was thinking more along the lines of dizziness, fainting, disorientation, loss of control over limbs, loss or weakening of senses, pain etc.
