This roleplay will take place in JK Rowling's Harry Potter Universe in present day (the Wizarding world has changed a lot since Voldermort's downfall). There can be references to what happened in the books but out of respect for JK's characters we'll be following a whole new generation of Officials, Teachers and Students. As an alternative to the traditional Harry Potter roleplay in which we play students, we will instead by playing the roles of the Hogwarts Faculty.
At the beginning of the new school year positions need to be filled (three in total). This can range from Defense Against The Dark Arts, to Potions, Games Keeper, or even a lowly Caretaker. There is a mystery afoot which I have prepared (quite extensively mind you) which will serve for an underlying thread in the numerous adventures we'll be put through. What if the next great hero or villain is among the new generation of students? Will your guiding hand be able to steer them along the right path? Rowling's world is a dangerous one, just how far will you go to protect your students? What kind of teacher will you be? A Snape; feared and respected in equal measure. A Lupin; troubled but beloved by his students. Or a Filch; protip: never be Filch.
Limitations when it comes to character:
- Must be at least thirty years of age
- Must be a Witch, Wizard or Squib (if Squib you can only be a Games Keeper or Caretaker)
- Must be from England. Ireland, Wales or Scotland.
- Have them specialize in one primary field (for instance DADA) with a subsidary (Potions).
- Must have a non-grimdark mary sue background. The character we are playing are 'normal' witches and wizards. Meaning no Werewolf curses or Horcrux makers.
I'm looking for TWO players to join me with this story. I'll be playing a character as well as many NPC's you'll be interracting with (with room to make your own for non-main storyline stuff). There is room for another player if I really can't choose between everyone. But definitely no more than four (including myself).
sidenote: I would love it if you could post a (British actors only. No Americans please) actor with your choice of character. You can tell a lot about a roleplay by the actor they choose (none from the movies please!).
